I’m a little overwhelmed – it’s okay (xoxoxo) – I just want to let you know

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed.

This isn’t an altogether bad thing.  I’m overwhelmed because so many people are reaching out to me to ask me questions about fluoroquinolones.  This is great – it means that word is getting out about the dangers of Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox and Floxin.  It means that people are reading what I write and connecting their pain and/or chronic illness to their prior use of fluoroquinolones.  Though it’s scary and infuriating for anyone to realize that they have been poisoned by a prescription antibiotic, knowledge is power and I’m pleased to be part of anyone putting together the pieces of their health puzzle, and realizing the cause of their pain and suffering.

There are a lot of you who I need to get back to.  There are multiple emails in my inbox that need responses.  You deserve a thoughtful response and I promise that I’ll get to you as soon as I can.  I’m trying to answer FQ related questions and emails, while also trying to keep my job, maintain my relationships and continue to write.  It’s hard to balance it all.  I’m not doing a very good job at finding a balance right now.  I’m overwhelmed.

My main goal in starting Floxie Hope was to help people through their Floxing experience.  Part of doing that is responding to people when they reach out to me.  I will get back to all of you.  I promise, I will.  I really am sorry for my less than timely responses.  If it has been more than a week and I haven’t responded to you, please re-send me your email – or just send me a note saying that you’re waiting for a response.

When I do respond to your emails, please keep in mind that I really don’t want people to think of me as an expert.  I’m doing my best to put the pieces together.  I’m doing my best to be right.  I’m doing my best to rely on credible research.  But I have been wrong about many things in my life and I don’t want people to take what I say as gospel.  I promise you, I am quite fallible.  (I’m right about fluoroquinolones being dangerous, over-used, ill-understood drugs – that is well established – but I may certainly be wrong about some details and some of my assertions.)  My perception that others are thinking of me as an expert is somewhat adding to me feeling overwhelmed.  It’s pressure.  It’s pressure that I brought on myself, but I do ask that you keep in mind that I’m just a Floxie who is trying to put together the pieces and I don’t know all the answers.

To all of the people who are helping me – THANK YOU!  Thank you to everyone who responds to comments on Floxie Hope.  Thank you to all of those who take time out of their busy schedules to support fellow Floxies on the facebook support groups.  Thank you to my family, friends, coworkers, allies and associates for your support.  You are all appreciated!

I encourage all of you with fluoroquinolone related questions to join a facebook support group.  There are lots of friendly people in the groups who can answer your questions and help you out.  Here are a few of them:

Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Group:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/floxies/

Fluoroquinolone Poisoning Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/616904631689613/

Surviving Antibiotic Adverse Reactions: Avelox, Cipro, Levaquin, Floxin:  https://www.facebook.com/groups/261231253984443/

That’s enough for this post.  I need to get to some emails.  Or work.

Thank you all for your patience!

All my best,

Thank you for reading Floxie Hope!  I hope that all who read Floxie Hope gain insight, support, understanding and, most of all, HOPE.  If you would like to support Floxie Hope, all contributions will be greatly appreciated!  Click HERE to contribute to Floxie Hope.  Thank you!

Hugs to you Lisa!! Sorry you’re feeling overwhelmed. I’ve probably been bothering you enough to overwhelm you all by myself! Please look after yourself first and foremost. And thanks again for all you do.

Hugs back to you, Catherine! You’re not a bother at all! I just want to be sure that you know that I’m both a little overwhelmed and trying to keep up and that if I ignore you I don’t mean to. 🙂

Thanks for all you are doing Lisa, an incredible amount I might add. And thanks for sending so many people our way, to the groups. I’m sure that your efforts are a big part of why our numbers are growing exponentially. As an admin in several of the groups I too receive an incredible amount of emails requesting information or conversation about symptoms and treatments and so on. I try to balance maintaining care for each individual with efficiency and effectiveness. As quickly as I can in each conversation I try to communicate that I much prefer conversing in the group setting so that as many people as possible can benefit from what I am typing and also so the person can get as many different perspectives as possible. I too am no expert and am just as fallible, probably more so. After 6+ years of being floxed and slowly improving I am still unable to comprehend much of the technical stuff in the Research Group for example, or some of the things you have written. I used to be pretty sharp but now my head starts to hurt when I read about why and how these things have happened to us. What I have been good at doing is pulling together a bunch of different groups and uniting them to work together to help solve our problems. I have found my niche and you have found yours. Please, keep sending people our way and we will provide them with the answers and the comradery that they so desperately need. Thanks again; your efforts are very much appreciated. I look forward to meeting you someday. Mark

Thank you so much for all that you do as well, Mark! You are the rock of the Floxie community and I thank you very much for everything! Your kindness and wisdom are always appreciated! You set the tone for the FB groups and it is always a supportive, kind, loving (and usually positive) tone.

Please try not to get down on yourself for your mental lapses. I know that it’s difficult, but if you can please try to treat yourself with as much kindness and compassion as you treat others, I imagine that it will be good for you. You deserve kindness and compassion.

I look forward to meeting you someday as well!

Thank you for all that you do as well, Terry! Like Mark, you are one of the rocks of the Floxie community and we are all lucky to have you!

I will take some time to breathe. I have to.

I don’t plan to go anywhere. This is my passion. It’s a good fight and I’m glad to be part of it. 🙂

Just so you know, the service you provide is immeasurable in the benefit it provides to us Floxies. There have been many a times when i was depressed and down, and I have turned to the stories here to lift my spirits and spur me to “keep on fighting”. You may not realize how many lives you have helped and or saved by this little site.

Emotional aspects aside, just the amount of information you provide is enough in itself.

If you need a favor, anything I can help with, especially after I get well, just ask. I will be here. ;o) We build and run websites, direct marketing, etc.

Thank you, Charles! I am happy to provide information, and, when possible, hope. It’s quite necessary in frightening times. I’m glad that I can be helpful!

I need to formulate some plans and desires, but I will be in touch to take you up on the offer for help with the website, marketing, etc. I am a laggard and I really don’t know what I’m doing as far as the site or marketing go.

Thank you so much for the offer! You are appreciated!
