Warning: Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics May Ruin Your Life

Cipro warning label

Here is a new post on Hormones Matter:

WARNING: FLUOROQUINOLONE ANTIBIOTICS MAY RUIN YOUR LIFE

Chandler Marrs, founder of Hormones Matter, wisely asked, “We fight for better labeling, but is that really the right battle? How about safer medications? How about a better understanding of who is at risk and what percentage of people might experience those reactions? How about accountability when reactions occur?”

Indeed.

Chandler, I could not agree more! My doctor prescribed Cipro for me for a simple UTI WITH prednisone (on top of two inhaled steroids) for asthma! My body has been devastated–it has affected ocular, olfactory, peripheral, autonomic nerves—There isn’t a place in my body that has not been compromised. And then to add insult to injury, of the the ten doctors/specialists I saw only ONE was even familiar with the side effects. The rest either said “Cipro is great! I use it all the time” or “Cipro couldn’t do all this. I want you to have (fill in the blank test or bloodwork.” One–a NEUROLOGIST of all things—wrote a 7 page report that basically said I was delusional and hysterical and full of “pseudo-medical” information. NO ONE IS READING THE LABELS. We need a full out assault on the cover-ups by the drug industry. We need doctors to be educated, since they apparently cannot seem to do it of their own volition. We need the public made aware of the hideous side effects and the fact these drugs are supposed to be for life and death situations. We need insurance to cover naturopathic care, to clean up the mess the MDs made. I could go on and on….

and yes ABSOLUTELY—Accountability!!!!! The doctor who gave this to me is living his great, affluent life, while I am struggling for breath, blurried eyed, in pain, underweight, numb….

    Where’s the “hope”?

Hope for compensation, responsibility taken, even retribution? A little bit of a break would be appreciated, Dolores – I didn’t publish it on this site. The post is on a non-hope-centered site.
