A recent study from scientists at Baylor University found that fluoroquinolones increase the risk of aortic aneurysm and dissection in mice who were predisposed to the illness. This is significant and compelling evidence that fluoroquinolones damage the vascular system, especially in mammals who are predisposed to aortic aneurysm and dissection. The mouse study evidence is on-top of large cohort studies of humans that showed that fluoroquinolones increase the likelihood of PEOPLE suffering from aortic aneurysm and dissection.

The following articles provide more information about the link between fluoroquinolones and aortic aneurysm and dissection:

These studies showing that fluoroquinolones cause aortic aneurysm and dissection in mice, and being linked to aortic aneurysm and dissection in humans, are significant, and, if I may say, THEY’RE A REALLY BIG DEAL!

Of course, it is horrifying that fluoroquinolones are linked to a potentially deadly disorder like aortic aneurysm and dissection, but we already knew that fluoroquinolones have horrible effects. However, these studies open the door for people who have been hurt by fluoroquinolones to sue and gain justice. And, with one more horrifying effect of this class of drugs being exposed, we may be one step closer to fluoroquinolones either being taken off the market or used with extreme caution only.

These studies are important. Please share them far and wide. Let people know that fluoroquinolones are dangerous drugs that can have deadly consequences. With that knowledge, maybe people will refuse to take them, and fewer people will get floxed.
