Message of hope for the newly floxed. I’m 16 months out and ready to say 100% ok now.

After 4 500mg Levaquin pills, I woke up with terrible hip pain, which transformed into not being able to walk at all within a few days. Before that occurred, I made a trip to the grocery store for magnesium, and was immediately overcome by the fluorescent lights and had a fog come over my vision which lasted for 9 months. My wife set up a bed downstairs for me so I wouldn’t have to try to walk up the stairs, and I’ve slept there ever since.

2 months into it my fog lifted briefly and I thought I was out of the woods, only to then slip into complete, total, debilitating brain fog – unable to work, remember names, drive a car, pick my 2 year old out of a crowd of moving kids. I had weird bursts of crying, I had pain in every joint in my body, the skin of my fingers sagged as if I’d been in water for hours, my feet got cold and remained that way, I couldn’t feel my toes. Every day something new seemed to pop up.

After 16 months, it’s all gone. I read everything, and I mean everything, that had ever been posted in this group when I was newly floxed and tried to adapt it to my own situation. I despaired a lot and worried that I’d never be able to play with my son again – but time and supplements did the trick. I learned more than I ever wanted about all the terminology, the supplements, my DNA, etc. I spent a lot of money on doctors and supplements, some wisely, some stupidly.

If you’re new to this, there is hope. You got this. Do not despair. There is so much wisdom and knowledge in this group. And for those longtime sufferers, my thoughts are with you – I hope it improves.
