Hear miraculous stories of healing and hope.
This site is to give HOPE to those who are suffering from Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome as a result of being poisoned by fluoroquinolone antibiotics – Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Floxin, etc. It contains stories of healing.
Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox and all other fluoroquinolones are dangerous drugs that can have devastating effects that cumulatively I’ll refer to as Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome or Floxing. Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome/Floxing includes damage to connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, cartilage, fascia, etc.) throughout the body, damage to the nervous systems (central, peripheral and autonomic), and more. The damage done by fluoroquinolone antibiotics can destroy a person’s quality of life or even kill them. Certainly, there is a time and a place for drugs with dangerous side effects. If you find yourself in a septic shock induced coma, fluoroquinolones may save your life. Unfortunately, these drugs are not being reserved for life or death situations. People are being prescribed them for urinary tract infections, suspected prostate infections, upper respiratory infections, as a prophylactic for travelers’ diarrhea, ear infections, pink eye, etc. Thousands of people have suffered needlessly from the devastating effects of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, when another, safer antibiotic could have, and should have, been used.
The damage done by fluoroquinolones is largely unacknowledged by the medical establishment and an accurate diagnosis, compensation and relief are difficult to come by. There is no known cure for Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome/Floxing. However, many people continue to LIVE after being poisoned by fluroquinolones. They find healing, recovery, perseverance, compassion and hope. These are their stories.
This site is meant to give hope for healing to those who are adversely effected by fluoroquinolones. It is no way meant to disregard the pain of those who are chronically suffering from the horrifying effects of Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox or the other fluoroquinolones. There are people who don’t recover. Their stories are real and they matter. There are also people who are able to recover and I share their stories with the hope that they inspire others, or at least give hope that recovery is possible.
Here is a New York Times article about the dangers of fluoroquinolone antibiotics – http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/10/popular-antibiotics-may-carry-serious-side-effects/?_r=0 – more news stories, research papers and other resources can be found on the “Links and Resources” page.
Here is a Facebook group that is a great resource for those going through Fluoroquinolone Toxicity – https://www.facebook.com/groups/floxies/
Featured post – I’m floxed. Now what?
The Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Solution Ebook has helped many Floxies to recover, including Daniel, Cindy and Ruth. As a bonus, you will also receive The Floxie Food Guide – a book of diet guidelines to help you through fluoroquinolone toxicity:
Where is everybody? If you read this, please leave a comment.
John. Still hanging around. I get Floxie home page notifications that I read but just respond to ones that I can contribute to. So far everything seems to be working with notifications! Hope you are doing well!! We just gotta keep hanging in there with hope and especially time helping us heal!!
I’m still here and wandering around the site. There seems to be comments listed everywhere.
Don M,
You got that right. When all the comments were listed in one place, it was much easier to help.people. Now as I try to hack/learn this new site I find comments where I could have helped that are a month old. This change is a great leap backwards for the benefits of this blog. Frustrating.
LOL
John Taylor
The comments have not moved at all. When the site was updated all of the comments moved from the exact page to the new page layout. I can send you screen shots of the old site and the new one with the exact same comments. I have no idea where the disconnect is you are talking about 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Use this site http://web.archive.org/ and type floxiehope.com and see the site last year you will see all of the comments are exactly the same I have checked it multiple times and correlated it to be correct.
Hey girls and guys, did you encounter major hair loss after Cipro? It’s 7 months since my floxing and they are still falling out massively. I also have other symptoms as well, I manage them somehow, but the hair loss is still so significant I had to get a short hair cut. My family and coworkers were so pissed off about my hair everywhere in spite of the fact I’ve been brushing them and collecting twice a day. Now I’m worried that I’ll become bald partially, because they wont’t stop falling. Will I ever be able to have long hair again? Did you do something to stop the hair loss? How long did your hair fall out?
So I no longer see the question I posed about vaccines for floxies, ?…..
So everyone I was happy to get in touch with! Andrea, John Taylor, Barbara Arnold, Don M, Virginia, Madge, Phillip, A.Coleman, Dee! And last, but not least, Jason! (If I did not mention someone, sorry, its because I’m rather a new member). Where would be the main place to start new conversations? On original floxiehope it was the home page. So where do we chat? Where to look for new comments? Where should new members post their questions, which do not concern any specific blog post?
Please see the homepage here https://floxiehope.com/home-2/ all the comments are working there. If you need help with the comment system please reach out to wordpress.com and click support as they will help you better than I can with the comment application. https://jetpack.com/support/comments/.
Any floxies aware of problems/interactions when getting the Pfizer COVID19 vaccine?
or any of the others, for that matter…
(If this belongs in a blog on this site, please advise where that is.)
– thanks!
Thank you Jason. Now being able to see the recent comments of past participants is great. I and I am sure that all the past members do appreciate your efforts. Thanks again.
Don, thanks for the support and staying with us during the transition. We also have a feature on the homepage that shows all the recent comments so you can jump in on any current discussion.
What is the scoop on vaccines ? Are floxies surviving them? USA is way ahead of Canada in vaccinations. Many of us would like to hear from floxies vaccinated already. And. Comments seem to be current now. Top to bottom. Easier to navigate …
I see some great improvements, and we’re finally able to talk again. Thanks about that!
It took some time John but we have the system back online. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I like a lot of the new format. It provides vetted information in many categories. That is very useful to someone new trying to find a path forward.
However vetted means approved by someone and when these things still do not solve all problems, those in this situation are looking for unvetted things to try.
I agree with all the above. We used to have a free flowing blog where a dozen or so people were exchanging ideas and bringing up treatment suggestions. It had become a research group. Jason, surely that is easy to restore. Your comments of I am trying don’t ring true. You are controlling.
I anyone finds a blog that has this uncensored reasearch group blog, please post it here. I the meantime, I am looking for another blog.
John Taylor
John this blog is not censored in any way. I honestly do not know why you feel this way and can show you all the settings in the back end of the platform as proof that comments are open and not censored at all and will never be. Also why would you make accusations about me personally and the status of Floxie Hope as nothing has changed other than the layout. I am willing to show you all the site details and controls. How is that censoring? I am really disappointing in your remarks toward me as all I am trying to do is give Floxie Hope a facelift. It truly does hurt reading your last comment.
@Jason
The word s.e.x is still not allowed, so comments ARE moderated automatically. I’ve just tried it. Please look into Akismet Antispam plugin settings. There must be something like ‘blacklist’, some toggle or other setting. You wrote that you hired a web developer to take care of the new comments etc. Please tell them to fix this.
Btw. You said that you didn’t change anything from Lisa. But somehow the word s.e.x. was allowed before. Try searching Google: ‘site:floxiehope.com s.e.x’ (but without dots). There are results. So in some point in time, someone banned that. Interesting. I guess there are other words not allowed and that may be the reason new members post their question, but when it doesn’t show up because of rules, they leave.
The site uses jetpack and akismet from WordPress. All Lisa and I did was transfer the account and I have not changed anything in the site. You can reach out to WordPress support if you are having issues posting. I actually have no control over what they consider “spam”. I hope that helps.
Jason,
It’s not a big deal for me. To be honest, I didn’t know about that until someone pointed it out. I just wanted to say that there are things you can do to enhance the commenting experience, but it’s up to you whether you do that. Maybe it’s just not worth digging, as far as we know this is just one word, and the site is not about it in any means.
I’m happy that the comments order is fixed and avatars are like they used to be. The site is also prettier than before. I do not want complain – you were just asking, so I replied.
Please reach out to WordPress support as they will be able to help you with the comment system. I have very limited control on what the app offers. This is the system Lisa the original founder put in place. Please reach out to WordPress for help here https://jetpack.com/support/comments/
Hey John, You can reach out to WordPress and ask why the application is having issues. I am only using the system Lisa put into place because it was easier to use than other apps.
https://jetpack.com/support/comments/
Hey John,
The team contacted Akismet and that word as well as other “lude or profain” words are automatically removed per the settings Lisa had on the site through the app. The developer is stating that this system can not be changed only turned off. I cannot turn the system off because “spam” comments will appear. To keep my promise to Lisa and the sites integrity I must keep the original comment system settings to keep Floxie Hope a clean environment as it always has been. My developer did say they are looking into the context of your request to better assist you and look into the settings to see the context of why it flagged it as spam. I will keep you posted, please give me time as my wife is delivering our daughter this week and I am doing my best. Thanks for reaching out.
Jason, thanks for your decent contribution to the case. I just wanted to encourage you to look into the settings for a switch or a wordlist, but you did a better thing instead – contacted the developer. If you don’t find a solution to this – don’t worry. We’re an accepting community and this is a MINOR issue. The site is great. Congratulations for becoming a father!
Thanks John, the developer stated by email that there is a spam folder where all comments go before deletion. He said I will have to monitor that folder to find comments that may be valid. I’ll do my best to figure that out. I hope that helps.
Hey Everyone the comments are fixed.
How? Tell us how to navigate. I can’ you hack it after trying for hours.
I’ve given up on this site!! Can’t have conversations anymore. Can’t pull up recovery stories let alone comment on them. Communication has come to a hault! It is like working through a maze with no success. I don’t even know if my comment is posted or where it goes as the old site sent a notification of your comment showing it and posting it. If you are reading this Jason I appreciate you taking over this site and trying to improve it but gosh how I miss the old site and the ease in carrying on conversations and reading recovery stories and posting comments. Unless this site brings that back I can no longer find a way to participate with other floxies and this has been an absolute necessary and integral part of my recovery these past 3.5 years. Please please fix these problems for the sake of floxies having this supportive community to help us all heal! There is nothing wrong with going back to some of the old format if it works! Thank you for your efforts and I think we all appreciate your enthusiasm!
I am doing everything in my power to make sure the site works 100%. With change things can be different for the user and for that I apoligize. Please at least give me the benefit of doubt to make the necessary changes to get Floxie Hope up and running. Please.

Testing the reply comment
I’m lost too. Not easy to navigate at all. Fix please.
Can you please elaborate?
Where in the heck are all the useful parts of Floxiehope????????????????
New design and layout – great. Enthusiasm by a new leader – wonderful. Goal of making the site more useful – understandable. Better – NOT BY A MILE.
I don’t know where to start. I work in IT and help with user experiences. This user experience other than an initial more appealing layout is really bad. Lots of broken images and broken links. Lots of missing and lost data. Recovery stories leads to a dead end; but most importantly the conversation among members starts in 2013. No way to get to recent comments other than hitting Newer Comments about 100 times; and even then the feature is buried under three clicks not front and center like it should be. The community is what makes floxie hope not fancy layouts that seem overly commercial. So, I am posting here and hopefully someone will see this and make this useful.
A Coleman. I totally agree!!! I’ve been trying to write to fellow floxies through the “home” tab like before and have had no luck. I can’t pull up the recovery stories anymore let alone comment on them. This site is about “ communicating” with fellow floxies. It doesn’t seem to happen anymore. I finally gave up and stopped getting on the site! Especially sad for new floxies trying to get help and information. If you are reading this Jason we appreciate you taking over this site and trying to improve it but maybe going back to the old ways we were communicating is best to bring us back together with valuable support that is needed by recovered and newly floxed people. Please look into continuing with a site that worked for all of us.
All I can say is I am sorry and trying my best. Can you please at least give me the chance to rectify these issues? That is all I ask.
Jason. No need to apologize. I know you are trying and I know you are making an effort to improve this site. I’m thankful that you are taking over this site to keep the communication and support going for the Floxie community. I don’t know what problems or issues you are aware of with floxies accessing this site and communicating so I was wanting to make you aware of the problems we were having as I know you will try to address them. Again, we are grateful for your enthusiasm and effort. I’m sure in time you will find a way to fix these issues. Please know you are much appreciated by all of us floxies!!
Thank you so much for your help. Please email me if you see anything that could help me discover any issues. Contact@floxiehope.com
Would you be willing to assist with your skills to help the floxie community to make this site amazing?
Just seeing if the new Floxie home page is reaching others???
