Floxie Hope

Floxie.Hope.1800.72.dpi

This site is to give HOPE to those who are suffering from Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome as a result of being poisoned by fluoroquinolone antibiotics – Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Floxin, etc.  It contains stories of healing.

Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox and all other fluoroquinolones are dangerous drugs that can have devastating effects that cumulatively I’ll refer to as Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome or Floxing.  Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome/Floxing includes damage to connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, cartilage, fascia, etc.) throughout the body, damage to the nervous systems (central, peripheral and autonomic), and more. The damage done by fluoroquinolone antibiotics can destroy a person’s quality of life or even kill them. Certainly, there is a time and a place for drugs with dangerous side effects. If you find yourself in a septic shock induced coma, fluoroquinolones may save your life. Unfortunately, these drugs are not being reserved for life or death situations. People are being prescribed them for urinary tract infections, suspected prostate infections, upper respiratory infections, as a prophylactic for travelers’ diarrhea, ear infections, pink eye, etc. Thousands of people have suffered needlessly from the devastating effects of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, when another, safer antibiotic could have, and should have, been used.

The damage done by fluoroquinolones is largely unacknowledged by the medical establishment and an accurate diagnosis, compensation and relief are difficult to come by. There is no known cure for Fluoroquinolone Toxicity Syndrome/Floxing.  However, many people continue to LIVE after being poisoned by fluroquinolones.  They find healing, recovery, perseverance, compassion and hope.  These are their stories.

This site is meant to give hope for healing to those who are adversely effected by fluoroquinolones.  It is no way meant to disregard the pain of those who are chronically suffering from the horrifying effects of Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox or the other fluoroquinolones.  There are people who don’t recover.  Their stories are real and they matter.  There are also people who are able to recover and I share their stories with the hope that they inspire others, or at least give hope that recovery is possible.

Here is a New York Times article about the dangers of fluoroquinolone antibiotics – http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/10/popular-antibiotics-may-carry-serious-side-effects/?_r=0 – more news stories, research papers and other resources can be found on the “Links and Resources” page.

Hi Lucy, I just wanted to tell you what helps me when I flare up: Number one is magnesium. I take Albion Chelated Magnesium Glysinate from Puritans Pride 400-600mgs daily, but during a flare I also use the Magnesium oil spray in between oral doses, Epsom Salt foot baths, and Epsom Salt tub baths. Also, just as important is a probiotic. I mainly use VSL#3, at the least three times a day sometimes more ( I buy these on line). Lastly, I watch my diet way more.. No caffeine, sugar, fried foods very bland ect. These are the only things that I notice help me during a flare up. I notice in your list of supplements you are not taking a probiotic. I would get some asap. I pray you find out what helps because it so hard, lonely, and scarey doing this on our own. That’s why I appreciate this site so much. Good luck 🙂

      Thanks for the info.
I am unable to take probiotics due to their side effects.

      Sorry.

      I have been abandoned.

I was “Floxed back in 2007 I had no idea what was happening to me, there was nothing online and even if there had been I would certainly have missed it because beginning of 2009 I started to sleep and sleep and sleep, I could not lift my head up, no Doctor had any thing to say but I had “chronic fatigue” I was anemic, I had lost seventy pounds just previously to taking Levequin for the First time, Needless to say I was in the BEST PHYSICAL SHAPE POSSIBLE at that time in hindsight I truly believe had I not been I would not be here writing this That is How sick I was and I am still trying to recover NINE YEARS LATER. I am Very Very Angry to see that so many others have become sick from these Poisons, in 2007 I had nothing no warning that would send me running, it said may cause Dizziness Drowsiness Constipation or Diarrhea. I would be happy to have all four of these symptoms everyday instead of what actually has happened to me, tendon Tears which I only found out about on accident in 2011 I knew I had them but no clue how they happened as I was on disability at that time due to back issues and knee problems, thus the 18 months of exercising walking and loss of seventy pounds I was healthy and happy and at just 46 looking forward to knee surgery and planning on going back to work. Levequin stopped me right in my tracks, I blew up like a balloon even though I hardly ate, I suddenly would loose my breath, I was also given albuterol with Levequin for a sinus infection 750 mg for Ten Days. All together I was Floxed six times between 3/19/07 1nd early 2009. There were still no reports that I saw except for tendon problems, I now also have heart valve damage Perihipial Neuropathy constant itchy skin profuse sweating which thankfully has subsided, I never sweat before? I’m trying to think of the many more side effects and can not put the words together Brain fog, I had tremors in the beginning which scared the life almost from me, It felt as if there was an earthquake happening, I live in NJ we have had a few but nothing like the one my body was having. We all know what this poison has done to us what we are trying to do is help each other heal in any way that works for each of us as individuals. I am just so thankful for finding this page thank you Lisa as I saw your story first, and thank you to each and everyone of the brave souls who type their words of help on these pages. Ok enough I just wanted to say that the magnesium Oils I rub on my ankles and belly seem to be helping along with the Epsom salt baths which I take every other day being I am only starting to try detoxing myself. I also have been taking Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids and Wild rose hips HYDROLYZED COLLAGAN and Lecithin. all have seemed to be tolerating well as I said my first week of trying this detoxing and getting the good stuff in.I would also like to throw something out there for some of us who do not need to take any medications at all. I have to take thyroid medication because of a 4.5mm cyst? Tumor which will be dealt with 1/29 Also a gift from Levequin Poisoning. Activated Charcoal Capsules which have actually been used for many years to RID THE BODY OF TOXINS,Is this not part of what we are trying to do? Please send in your thoughts concerns etc. and let me know if anyone try’s this has tried it and what the outcome was/is, I am hoping this will HELP SOMEBODY ANYBODY. One Person at a time Stand strong and do not ever give up, I almost did, I saw absolutely no light at the end of the Tunnel and I Googled Levequin Poisonings and found you guys, Thank God for each and everyone of you. I wish the Post 2009 People were not here telling stories of their injuries They SHOULD HAVE BEEN WARNED.THE FDA AND MANUFACTURERES KNEW OF THE DAMAGE THESE FLUOROQUINOLONES WERE CAPABLE OF CAUSING, These were not RARE SIDE EFFECTS these were DEFINATLY POSITIVLY GOING TO HAPPEN AND HURT PEOPLE!!! WE ARE THE PEOPLE THEY HURT,WE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO WILL HELP EACH OTHER TO GET BETTER DAY BY DAY WEEK BY WEEK MONTH BY MONTH,AS LONG AS IT TAKES,I PRAY I AM NOT TO LATE AND I AM ABLE TO REVERSE SOME OF THESE INJURIES. NOTHING LEFT FOR ME TO DO BUT TRY,EAT RIGHT TAKE MY VITAMINS AND MINERALS EXERCISE IF POSSIBLE AND LOOK RIGHT STRAIGHT AHEAD TOWARDS MY HEALTH RETURNING AND ALLOWING ME TO LIVE A LIFE WITH SOME QUALITY AND DIGNITY,THANK YOU ALL FOR HEARING ME OUT,MAY YOUR HEALING BEGIN OR CONTINUE JUST DO NOT GIVE UP.DO NOT LET THEM WIN.

Hi Lisa, so sorry you have been dealing with this for so long. And I agree whole-heartedly with everything you said. I think Jason might be able to give you a better answer on the charcoal, but I just want to say that I take thyroid medication. I tried switching to a more natural compounded form, but it didn’t work well for me. I would like to get off of the levothyroxin at some point in time, but for now I know I need to be on it to keep the thyroid functioning as it should.

I was wondering if you looked back on any posts from those of us who have had a lot of success with nutrient IVs?

        • Lisa M January 13, 2016 at 8:37 pm

Jason I was wondering about using activated charcoal since it was originally used to absorb toxins from the body. I am only worried about it taking away the Synthroid medication I am on, I posted earlier and wanted to add pineapples into the mix for me being I have been suffering through this since 2007 my entire system has gone haywire especially my digestive system, I have found eating pineapples or drinking an 8 oz glass of its juice a day has helped me a lot. Linda I live in the USA and I have been without luck trying to find a Functional Integrative or Naturopath as yet, as I said I only just found your site and am so happy with all of the helpful information thus far, thank you all for helping with all that you can share. Health to all one day at a time.

Hi Lisa. You can plug your City in here, and enter a radius and find the closest Functional Doctor to you.

          https://www.functionalmedicine.org/practitioner_search.aspx?id=117#results

There are many things to help mobilize (they get stored in body) and then absorb toxins to help remove them from the body, different ones do different things, and the lists are kind of long so I don’t remember exactly which is which for some of them.

Activated Charcoal is a good “absorber”, and will soak up some toxins, others are Benonite or other Clays, Zeolites, Chlorella & Spirulina, and Psyllium can help too. Different ones absorb different things better than others, I am not totally sure which one is best to absorb drugs in general, Charcoal seems like a good candidate, and also eat lots of Fiber in general like veggies, Flax, etc

Sweating helps its one of the the bodies natural ways to remove things, so Sauna and Exercise, and both have the ability to mobilize toxins too so be careful and prepared for that (Iodine in particular is good for the Thyroid AND for displacing the Fluorine, which is in Cipro and proven to displace Iodine, thus screwing up Thyroid function). I’ve posted in detail about all this in past pages, really there is a lot of info in past pages in general on how to try and heal from these damn drugs.

Pineapple is an amazing food to aid digestion, but anyone that needs to watch Sugar due to Candida will need to cut out Pineapple unfortunately for some time (and do much much more if they have it, and hope to heal from it). If someone is having digestion issues (common even in non-Floxed people) they can buy Enzymes and take them 15 min before eating, can also drink Apple Cider Vinegar at same time, and/or “bitters”, and can also take HCL when eating anything Protein or generally harder to digest.

I am someone who has been in this world now for 26 years since the 1980s having been floxed multiple times. We have been screaming about this crime against humanity online and elsewhere what feels like forever. People have actually been severely injured by FQs & also the non fluorinated original Quinolones, & the story actually goes way back even further back in time than that, our various symptoms show up in various patterns in various drugs with the QunoLINE nucleus right back in time to synthetic Quinine.

When it comes to FQs, People unfortunately, often due to the delayed ADRs which so often present in fluoroquinolone toxicity & mimic so many other conditions then often get misdiagnosed with other things, & do not think to question, will accept that diagnosis often for a very long time, & only many years later, perhaps having been refloxed perhaps when further injury occurs the symptoms of which do not correspond with the diagnosis they have will start questioning & looking deeper, that is if they ever do .

There are uncountable numbers of people walking around ( thats if they still can ) with any number of misdiagnoses who have actually really been poisoned with FQs. with misdiagnoses like Fibromyalgia ( CIPROmyalgia ) CFS/ME ( one of mine ) ‘ severe mental illness ‘ often the ‘ mood disorders ‘ Bipolar is another one. FQ poisoning can mimic any number of autoimmune conditions ( which the FQs can mimic so accurately, or even cause secondary versions of , the markers of these conditions can even show up in the tests used to diagnose them ( very useful for Big Pharma indeed ) , only for these markers to then disappear further out & not be detectable when they are tested again . Unfortunately by then people are usually taking more allopathic drugs more poison for this supposed condition which has all too often complicated matters still further .) Drs misdiagnose us with MS, reactive arthritis ( Reiters ), Sjorgrens is yet another label.
We can also get suspected of having any number of neurodegenerative conditions, some of the symptoms can mimic ALS, Huntington’s disease etc, we can also be suspected of having dementia due to the FQ induced cognitive issues.

Another problem is the Lymeflox scenario, many people with Lyme even if they do see lyme literate Drs run into another problem unfortunately many of these Drs are floxing Illiterate so they are prescribed FQs & then they get floxed,The symptoms of Lyme & FQ toxicity are very very similar & the lymeflox waters can be very muddy indeed. The label /s we get given will depend on the symptoms we develop over time, & many of us unfortunately will eventually end up with with more than one misdiagnosis.

This is just one of many reasons why I will no longer see allopathic Drs unless I have no choice. On my journey to find out what was ailing me I acquired no less than 3 misdiagnoses before I got off the all too often one way train to floxie misdiagnosis-land. I do NOT identify with any of them .

I have fluoroquinolone toxicity, I am NOT sick I am poisoned
Our allopathic Drs unfortunately, even if they do believe us DO NOT know what to do , they DO NOT know how to fix DNA/ mitochondrial damage, they DO NOT know how to fix poisoned.

        • Linda January 14, 2016 at 10:12 am

well said. I saw 12 doctors, and I kept telling THEM what was wrong, and only one believed me. Unfortunately, as you said, she told me she didn’t know how to help me. I finally (wish I had done so sooner) found a wonderful ND who helped immensely, and now an Acupuncturist/Chinese Herbalist. I also found, unbelievably, an integrative cardiologist, since this poison also gave me pericardial effusion. It infuriates me no end that after the moving testimonies of the Nov. 5 FDA safety subcommittee hearings, physicians are STILL in the dark because there is NO communication between the FDA and them. (Just the way FDA/big pharma likes it.)

FYI: Very detailed story in NYT New York Times Magazine about Dupont and Using “fluorochemicals” (perfluorooctanoic acid) (Teflon pans) and dumping throughout the USA and polluting her water. The article is called:

“The Lawyer Who Became Duponts Worst Nightmare”

As part of its agreement with the E.P.A., DuPont ceased production and use of PFOA in 2013. The five other companies in the world that produce PFOA are also phasing out production. DuPont, which is currently negotiating a merger with Dow Chemical, last year severed its chemical businesses: They have been spun off into a new corporation called Chemours. The new company has replaced PFOA with similar fluorine-based compounds designed to biodegrade more quickly — the alternative considered and then discarded by DuPont more than 20 years ago. Like PFOA, these new substances have not come under any regulation from the E.P.A. When asked about the safety of the new chemicals, Chemours replied in a statement: ‘‘A significant body of data demonstrates that these alternative chemistries can be used safely.’’

Last May, 200 scientists from a variety of disciplines signed the Madrid Statement, which expresses concern about the production of all fluorochemicals, or PFASs, including those that have replaced PFOA. PFOA and its replacements are suspected to belong to a large class of artificial compounds called endocrine-disrupting chemicals; these compounds, which include chemicals used in the production of pesticides, plastics and gasoline, interfere with human reproduction and metabolism and cause cancer, thyroid problems and nervous-system disorders. In the last five years, however, a new wave of endocrinology research has found that even extremely low doses of such chemicals can create significant health problems. Among the Madrid scientists’ recommendations: ‘‘Enact legislation to require only essential uses of PFASs’’ and ‘‘Whenever possible, avoid products containing, or manufactured using, PFASs. These include many products that are stain-resistant, waterproof or nonstick.’’

When asked about the Madrid Statement, Dan Turner, DuPont’s head of global media relations, wrote in an email: ‘‘DuPont does not believe the Madrid Statement reflects a true consideration of the available data on alternatives to long-chain perfluorochemicals, such as PFOA. DuPont worked for more than a decade, with oversight from regulators, to introduce its alternatives. Extensive data has been developed, demonstrating that these alternatives are much more rapidly eliminated from the body than PFOA, and have improved health safety profiles. We are confident that these alternative chemistries can be used safely — they are well characterized, and the data has been used to register them with environmental agencies around the world.’’

Every year Rob Bilott writes a letter to the E.P.A. and the West Virginia D.E.P., urging the regulation of PFOA in drinking water. In 2009, the E.P.A. set a ‘‘provisional’’ limit of 0.4 parts per billion for short-term exposure, but has never finalized that figure. This means that local water districts are under no obligation to tell customers whether PFOA is in their water. In response to Bilott’s most recent letter, the E.P.A. claimed that it would announce a ‘‘lifetime health advisory level for PFOA’’ by ‘‘early 2016.’’

This advisory level, if indeed announced, might be a source of comfort to future generations. But if you are a sentient being reading this article in 2016, you already have PFOA in your blood. It is in your parents’ blood, your children’s blood, your lover’s blood. How did it get there? Through the air, through your diet, through your use of nonstick cookware, through your umbilical cord. Or you might have drunk tainted water. The Environmental Working Group has found manufactured fluorochemicals present in 94 water districts across 27 states (see sidebar beginning on Page 38). Residents of Issaquah, Wash.; Wilmington, Del.; Colorado Springs; and Nassau County on Long Island are among those whose water has a higher concentration of fluorochemicals than that in some of the districts included in Rob Bilott’s class-action suit. The drinking water in Parkersburg itself, whose water district was not included in the original class-action suit and has failed to compel DuPont to pay for a filtration system, is currently tainted with high levels of PFOA. Most residents appear not to know this.

Where scientists have tested for the presence of PFOA in the world, they have found it. PFOA is in the blood or vital organs of Atlantic salmon, swordfish, striped mullet, gray seals, common cormorants, Alaskan polar bears, brown pelicans, sea turtles, sea eagles, Midwestern bald eagles, California sea lions and Laysan albatrosses on Sand Island, a wildlife refuge on Midway Atoll, in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, about halfway between North America and Asia.

‘‘We see a situation,’’ Joe Kiger says, ‘‘that has gone from Washington Works, to statewide, to the United States, and now it’s everywhere, it’s global. We’ve taken the cap off something here. But it’s just not DuPont. Good God. There are 60,000 unregulated chemicals out there right now. We have no idea what we’re taking.’’

        • Linda January 18, 2016 at 5:19 pm

OMG. Staggering. I remember decades ago the slogan “better living through chemistry.” It was part of DePont’s ad campaign. What a mess the chemical companies have made of our world.

        • Lisa Bloomquist January 18, 2016 at 4:06 pm

Regarding Rene’s comment above, EVERYONE should read these articles –

          http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/10/magazine/the-lawyer-who-became-duponts-worst-nightmare.html?_r=0

          http://highline.huffingtonpost.com/articles/en/welcome-to-beautiful-parkersburg/

Know what DuPont, 3M, and other chemical companies have done, and how the inept EPA has let them do it. I truly think that these articles are important for everyone to read.

I just got a free download from DR Axe about healing a leaky gut, and what caught my eye was that one of the supplements suggested was l-glutamine, for those of you who are not trying to avoid it. It says that it:
    • Helps repair the gut lining
    • Preserves muscle tissue
    • Helps with digestion and fat-burning
    • Also helps with digestive disorders
    including irritable bowel syndrome
    (IBS), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative
    colitis, diverticulosis and diverticulitis

It is also found in bone broth, which is great for health/immune system.

    • Jason January 11, 2016 at 6:05 pm Reply

Hi Linda. As I mentioned L-Glutamine is considered by many experts to be one of the most important supplements for fixing Leaky Gut (it is universally recommended for that reason) although there are many others that can help too, like Marshmellow Root, Slippery Elm and others.

I know you are not concerned but just to remind others L-Glutamine WILL give many Floxies issues like making Insomnia, Anxiety and Brain Fog worse or even MUCH worse due to the damage to the Gaba receptors that Cipro does, and the fact that L-Glutamine is a precursor to the Glutamate, which is already too high in many Floxies and out of balance.

Bone Broth would be a great natural way to get it that “might” give less negative effects, and is also rich in many other things good for health.

      • Jason January 11, 2016 at 7:36 pm Reply

This is likely the download Linda was referring to, it is a free ebook that came linked in an email to those people who signed up to the free upcoming Heal Your Gut Summit, which will be starting soon and should be awesome 30 experts all going to talk about Gut Health

        http://my.draxe.com/top25

There are more than those 25 things he listed for Leaky Gut too, and he forgot at least 2 pretty big ones, Gamma Oryzanol and Butyrate or Butyric Acid (can be bought but also stimulated by feeding the “good bacteria” with things like Resistant Starch, who then produce more of it) that they will hopefully touch on in the Summit, and more

Note that I think people with comprised Gut’s, and have issues like SIBO, need to be careful with anything that feeds bacteria like Resistant Starch, Prebiotics etc until they get that under control

        • Jason January 11, 2016 at 7:37 pm

This is a VERY informative neat little 4 minute video about the Microbiome & Resistant Starch

        • Terry January 11, 2016 at 8:22 pm

I haven’t heard many negatives about the L-Glutamine.

        • Jason January 11, 2016 at 8:40 pm

Hi Terry. I’ve been WAYYY back in these pages, and can tell you that all things that lead to Glutamate can cause Floxed people issues including L-Glutamine, but moreover the science on it is VERY cut and dry, and experts have weighed in on it as well like Amy Yasko, Gaba balances Glutamate in the Brain, Glutamate is stimulatory, Floxies often have damaged Gaba receptors, suffer from high anxiety, panic attacks, etc only they don’t know WHY, this is just one of the reasons, this is 2 + 2 stuff really nothing complex here like some of the other Floxing issues.

Note however again, that many people will NOT notice the negative effect directly, they will have bad anxiety, have bad Insomnia, Brain Fog etc and not know WHY, and if someone is already bad, they are much less likely to notice just one more thing that makes them that way, many Floxies don’t even need any extra Glutamate to be screwed up their balance is so far off already, it just adds fuel to the fire, and keeps it burning.

      • Linda January 11, 2016 at 9:42 pm Reply

yeah, that’s why I said “those not trying to avoid it.”

      • Linda January 15, 2016 at 6:05 pm Reply

sorry if you have repeated this before, but just wondering if there are any specific supplements you took to repair gaba receptors

        • Jason January 15, 2016 at 7:17 pm

Hi Linda. I put some of them in the Anxiety article, the most promising one for actual potential “repair” is probably Bacopa. (although repair is not the right term for the potential mechanism of action, which is to increase the number of working GABA receptors in the brain). Zinc and P5P might be quite important for functioning and are two other things there were in my overloaded regiment.

Healing the Gut is once again critical, as apparently healthy bacteria in Gut (which are somewhat destroyed by Cipro) can increase GABA receptors in the brain similar to what is reported Bacopa can do. (GABA is also located throughout the GI tract and is found in enteric nerves as well as in endocrine-like cells, implicating GABA as both a neurotransmitter and an endocrine mediator influencing GI function).

          https://floxiehope.com/2015/06/22/treating-fluoroquinolone-anxiety/

Here are a couple other ones of note besides those I mentioned already:

Theanine – a plant-based amino acid found only in tea increases levels of GABA within the brain 8, 9, increases the production of alpha brainwaves 12, 13, 14 and enhances GABA A receptor response 60. Studies have shown that theanine is useful in the treatment of anxiety due to its ability to sedate the central nervous system as well as improving the quality of sleep and counteract the toxic effects of stress 15, 16. How smart were the generations gone before us……when someone was stressed their initial response was “come inside and sit down, I’ve just put on a pot of tea”……not coffee which can be stimulating and have the opposite effect! (<= ME, NOTE TEA IS A BAD IDEA for many reasons, some of which I have posted here already, buy the supplement if going this route)

Inositol – a B group vitamin may help alleviate anxiety and depression, by enhancing the ability of GABA to bind to the benzodiazepine receptors within the brain 35, 36, 37, 38, 39. Inositol may also help to stimulate poorly sensitive serotonin receptors within the brain 20. and facilitate a good night's sleep 40.

Magnesium – deficiency is common in western society with up to 80% of women and 70% of men having some form of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium binds to and activates GABA receptors 54. I have switched to herbal tea, which I am not crazy about. Tulsi tea and ginger tea, Would love to be able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. I also kept reading about all the myriad health benefits of green tea, but couldn’t remember why floxies weren’t supposed to drink it—I thought it was the fluoroide in the leaves. I was never a big fan of green tea, just wanted to take advantages of the benefits, but this is not a loss for me..

        • Jason January 15, 2016 at 8:34 pm

There are a few negatives (and benefits), Caffeine, Fluoride, and a couple other things I listed in the Anxiety article, one of them is a Genetic Disposition which it seems I have, I get jittery as hell after drinking it, which is the main reason I warn against it, the Stimulatory effects from these elements, and the high Fluoride content

My favourite tea is Spearmint, then Peppermint, Lemongrass, they have some for relaxing and Sleep, Constipation, there are hundreds. For Coffee substitute I drink Chicory Root coffee, it can be bitter unless prepared properly, but with Coconut Cream, Stevia, Cinnamon, dash of Nutmeg and Cacao I find it delicious, and its a Prebiotic so feeds good bacteria. There are some other “Healthy” coffee substitutes out there too, but people need to be VERY careful with all the additives that many include.

“Sodium bicarbonate is not only an excellent agent for natural chemotherapy, bringing as it does higher O2 levels through increased alkalinity to the cells, it is also one of the most basic medicines we have for kidney disease. ”

“New research by British scientists at the Royal London Hospital shows that sodium bicarbonate can dramatically slow the progress of chronic kidney disease.”

Bruce, this just came in my email, and applies to your current situation probably, good info for everyone in general too:

Dr. Sircus – “A great feeling of security for a parent comes from administering a medicinal like iodine. It is what I give my children instead of dangerous antibiotics when they are sick. It is what I use when the first symptoms of flu approach and it does spare one the worst of that misery. After we understand that iodine is an excellent antiviral, antibacterial, anti fungal, mold and yeast agent we begin to glimpse the catastrophic mistake made for substituting pharmaceutical antibiotics for iodine.”

“Antibiotics bring on fungal and yeast infections thus will eventually be seen as one additional cause of cancer since more and more oncologists are seeing yeast and fungal infections as an integral part of cancer and its cause. With upwards of 40 percent of all cancers thought to be involved with and caused by infections[3] the subject of antibiotics and the need for something safer, more effective and life serving is imperative.”

“Though it kills 90 percent of bacteria on the skin within 90 seconds its use as an antibiotic has been ignored. Iodine exhibits activity against bacteria, molds, yeasts, protozoa, and many viruses; indeed, of all antiseptic preparations suitable for direct use on humans and animals and upon tissues, only iodine is capable of killing all classes of pathogens: gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, yeasts, viruses and protozoa. Most bacteria are killed within 15 to 30 seconds of contact.”

“Iodine is by far the best antibiotic, antiviral and antiseptic of all time.- Dr. David Derry”

I’ll save this for my wife to read. I fill her in on my nutritional updates every day and get her to read the really important ones. Our daily conversations previously consisted of sports and gossip, now they consist of health and nutrition. I’ll also up my iodine intake for a few days.

      Suffocating Mitochondria

A study published in the scientific journal Cell Reports, calls for caution when using this family of antibiotics because they are suffocating the mitochondria of a wide range of organisms. The authors of the study said that the effects were huge. “After several days of treatment with high doses of doxycycline, mitochondrial respiration was visibly altered. More surprising still, the consequences were observed all the way down the food chain, from mammals to flies to nematode worms to plants.”

      • Debs January 12, 2016 at 1:51 pm Reply

ALL allopathic Drugs, even the more ‘ benign better tolerated ‘ antibiotics are toxic, some just have less serious toxic profiles than others. In respect of antibiotics It is a case of picking the one ( if you have a choice ) which is effective for the bacterial strain you have & which is capable of causing less damage. Many allopathic drugs / classes of drug are in fact mitochondrial poisons .
This fact along with the knowledge I have gained via my in depth research related to the reasons these drugs are so often prescribed in the way that they are, the fact that many of the so called ‘ side effects’ of many of these drugs are no accident of design is the reason why I will no longer agree to take ANY allopathic drug unless 1/ their is no natural alternative for the condition I have, & to NOT take that drug means the harm caused to me will outweigh the benefit, or 2 / my life does literally depend on me taking it.

    EPSOM SALT BATHS

I’ve posted about these in the past many times but not for quite awhile, and I see them mentioned a few times recently here so want to remind everyone exactly what these are, and what they are capable of.

    PROS

    – Great way to relax and de-stress
    – Great way to get Magnesium and Sulfur into the body
    – Great way to stimulate circulation
    – Great way to detox
    – Other potential benefits as well

    CONS

    – Great way to detox, this can be BAD or VERY BAD for Floxie at the wrong times
    – Can aggravate all inflammatory conditions, like the many Cipro causes
    – Hot water can drag down the Adrenal Glands and add to exhaustion
    – Some people can not tolerate the Sulfur and can have VERY bad reactions

    ==========

There is a lot more that can be added to this list, but those are the main points I want to make about it. The combo of Sulfur and Magnesium is a great mix, both very healthy for the body, and also detoxifying, and done trans-dermal like this, can be VERY powerful, and this is the trouble, it can be too powerful for some people.

“Timing” here can be imperative, if you are not ready to have a potential “down-turn” in symptoms or relapse, which I am quite sure these can cause and have for some people in the past including myself, then I would not consider this as a good idea. If you are ready, think you are strong enough and can handle the onset of old symptoms flaring up, returning, getting stronger etc, then it “might” be something to consider.

What I think could be a good approach here, is to consider a warm to hot bath only once every 7 -10 days or so, and to consider having a cool to cold shower directly after (more or less hydrotherapy then, rotating hot and cold can be good for some conditions). I think more often than that is not a good idea for many people, the top 3 cons come into play too much and are too big otherwise.

Also, if someone still wants to do these but NOT have the detox effect be so strong, they can buy Ancient Minerals Magnesium Bath Flakes, I use these instead of Epsom so I still get the Magneisum transdermally, and not the Sulfur. I also add Borax to the water, which can serve a couple purposes like hopefully not absorbing as much Fluoride from the water in the body and for getting some Boron in the body. You could add other things and minerals too, like Sea Salt for example, Clay, Apple Cider Vinegar, Baking Soda, Essential Oils, I use a mix of these things as well. Anyway my 2 cents on Baths.

    • Jason January 11, 2016 at 7:08 pm Reply

      Should add one more:

      CONS

      – Can be VERY irritating to the nervous system, and add to anxiety

I’ve been enjoying baths for many years, and have a Jacuzzi right in the master bath. This “frying of nerves” (can be really edgy for a good day after) typically happens to me when I overdo it, like sit in fairly hot water for 25 minutes, which also makes other things worse too like really tired for 2 days, inflammatory things worse like popping joints, tendon pains etc etc.

Those negative effects don’t just happen when I overdo though, they can happen even from a 20 minute hot but not too hot bath too. Sometimes I actually take baths to “loosen up” joints on purpose, because I have a bad lower back that has locked up on me in the past, and when I feel it getting bad its usually because my hip has not “cracked” for awhile, a bath usually “fixes” this. I can tell you that hot baths were generally NOT a good idea for me at all while I was suffering from Floxie things and pains, I avoided them mostly.

Hi Lucy, I do live in the USA, in Youngstown, Ohio. But the suffering’s the same no matter where you live, and no dr. I saw would even consider that this was caused by Cipro. They just gave me possible dx’s for each individual symptom. For example, I supposedly had Fibro, rheumatoid, heart disease, kidney problems, panic, anxiety, ear problems, IBS, sinus problems, vertigo, hot flashes were menopause ect. And like everyone else , I was perfectly fine before I took Cipro. So I stopped going to all dr.s and for 19 mos. clung to this site and the Levaquin Solution E-book sold here. But since Sept of this year I ‘ve been very flared up and its tearing my stomach up, so I made my first appt. with a Naturopath who has an MD. I went to her on 1/7/16. She ran some blood work. ordered a test to check for SIBO (small intestinal bowel overgrowth) and kept my supplement regimen the same for now. I would like to say that when my stomach gets bad everything gets extremely bad, so I wanted some help to try and heal it. So please try and heal your stomach or keep it healed if its not bad yet. Anyhow, the Green Goodness drink is made by Bolthouse Farms and they sell it every where. I buy mine at Walmart. I drink them when I can’t make my own. But more important is the probiotics. Also, about your meds, I have no knowledge whatsoever about them, you,or why you’re taking them. These are questions for a doctor, but after I read all the side effects from them I thought Holy Smokes no wonder you’re in a flare. I don’t see how you could have a good day. In the beginning of my reaction/poisoning the dr.s put me on all kinds of meds-heart, pain, stomach, anxiety.. and every one I had to stop because of such severe reactions to them. That’s the reasons for my comment. Anyhow Lucy, I pray you get some relief soon and you find a dr. who can help you with all this. Keep us updated. 🙂

When my stomach acts up I find a correlation between that and my nerve pain acting up a bit. Nothing like years ago when this first happened to me but makes things tougher. I usually ice and Epsom salt bath when it does. I’m not always the greatest with my diet since being pregnant now but trying to get back to it. I never have gluten, have cut back down on sugar, but I love dairy! That’s always the toughest for me. I know alot of people say to avoid soy but it never seemed to adversely affect me. Sometimes it’s my easiest protein source if I don’t want meat and I’m allergic to nuts.

Hi Heather, I definitely know for me, my stomach has a huge role in flaring up all my other symptoms. In the beginning, I couldn’t figure out what would make me worse because this affects so many different things in our bodies. Seriously I can’t think of one thing on or in my body that has not been affected. But after 19 months I did figure out a few things on my own and from all the “Gang” here. (Thank you’s) How long has it been for you? how you doing now? and Congratulations on your pregnancy – how many months are you? Pregnancy was a very exciting stage in my life – I have six kids. But I couldn’t imagine being pregnant anywhere near my floxing/ poisoning. Anyhow, my diet was always up and down throughout this whole ordeal, mostly bad though, hence the stomach issues. But today I bought Dr. Wahls Protocol book on how to eat to heal your cells/mitochondria. I plan on starting that asap! Wish me luck 🙂

Heather, I have really missed some milk products, but have found satisfying alternatives made with coconut milk. The coconut ice cream is pricey, but some of them I like better than the milk ones. I use coconut milk and coconut cream to make puddings, sweetened with a little honey. Coconut milk is naturally sweet, so not a lot of sweetener is needed.

I still haven’t found a good cheese alternative. Anyone? I miss pizza.

Heather … Ginger for any tummy issues, including (since you are pregnant) morning sickness. Ginger tea, candied ginger, ginger ale if it has real ginger in it, or just chop up some ginger root and swallow with water. I always travel with ginger chews in my purse, and I’ve used them more than once to save me discomfort.

      Hi Joannneg,
Did you try the Specific Carbohydrate Diet or its variants, which is basically not eating any grains or legumes? In my opinion it essentally leaves the digestive tract some time to rest and heal by avoiding everything that is at all irritating. It involves not eating any type of bread, pasta, rice, potato, beans, legumes, pretty much anything starchy.

A lot of people balk about it and when I say it helped me, I get a lot of pushback from people who were raised on the Food Pyramid and who really feel that pasta and grains and sandwiches are essential to life. But really, it’s just stuff to fill you up. There is nothing wrong with not eating any bread. And you get so many more vitamins and minerals if you replace the bread with green leafy vegetables, carrots, etc. You can modify the type of veg for your own body but that’s the gist of it.

I’ve been doing it for two years and my digestion has improved so much. Of note, I had no digestive problems until Cipro, and then spent years next to the toilet after CIpro.

My intoxication was extremely severe, I was given a lot unnecessarily, even though I requested not to be given it. I hope that your experience was not that bad and that this advice will help you very quickly 🙂

I also need to avoid all dairy, so you can keep that in mind.

  10. joanne g January 12, 2016 at 11:38 pm Reply

Hi Daniela, I never tried the SCDiet. I did read about it some, but never did any diet for very long. But what’s some what interesting to me is during my worst suffering a lot of the foods in these diets that they say you shouldn’t eat were absloutely nauseous to me. The main ones were sugar, bread, spices and salt. And later when I would read about these diets I wondered if my body somehow knew. Just weird to me.

I was telling Heather that today I bought Dr. Wahls Protocol, and I plan on starting that soon, but I really appreciate you taking the time to try and help me. Thank you 🙂

How long has it been for you since being floxed/poisoned? and how you doig now?

    • Daniela January 13, 2016 at 8:20 am Reply

All the SCD information is free online. The originator published “legal, illegal” lists of common foods so it makes it very easy. Wahls is using the same diet.

The concept actually predates even SCD, because Elaine Gotschall got the idea from an elderly doctor who was developing the diet probably based on ideas from before him. So it’s been known for a long time, though doctors only want to prescribe or operate.

It makes you wonder about cereals and “bread is the staff of life”. On the other hand, you can make really good pancakes with just a ripe banana (legal) and an egg, so maybe it’s what we are making “bread” out of that has gone bad.

SCD uses 24 hour yogurt, but I have had to eliminate all dairy. I use sauerkraut for probiotics.

Sorry about your situation. Many of us are in financial straits because of Cipro toxicity. A friend did a fundraiser for me on GO Fund Me, and the most donations came from posting on Facebook. You might want to try that. Also, I would be very careful about WHO is doing the diagnosing. Try to find an integrative or functional doctor. Too many of us on this site experienced going to doctor after doctor after doctor, because they refused to believe all this could be caused by the very pharmaceuticals they described.

My Achilles gets this big red rash on it when I spray magnesium oil on. This doesn’t happen anywhere else on my body. My Achilles is what bothers me the most. What do you think this means?

    • Jason January 13, 2016 at 11:43 pm Reply

That’s a head-scratcher for me, if you spray it in other parts, and even other Achilles and only the sore one gets this there must be a logical reason but it escapes me for now, other than if you have been putting it there “the most” (which seems likely) then that skin is likely the most irritated from the Salts, which tend to dry the skin. (or possibly there is more blood circulating there to try and heal it, seems less likely)

I made the mistake of leaving it on, because I wanted ALL the benefit, and hey “I can take it”. I really have very healthy skin overall too so I was not as worried, well my lower legs had dry skin for quite awhile during my suffering from the Oil (and even months later), eventually I watered it down some (because I am also too lazy to wipe it off….ooops there is other reason lol) but yeah that stuff is not good for the skin, no matter how good and natural it is (so should be wiped off after 20 mins IIRC). After using some lotion for awhile my skin improved again, though I’m not sure it is quite where it was before….

    • ChristmasCarla January 16, 2016 at 10:25 am Reply

Mark, one of the main problems I am having is the red scaly rash around my ankle and heel on my foot that has the worst Achilles damage, and I’ve not heard a lot about it on here. It burns and is very red and irritated. I have been fighting an apparent infection in that ankle for a year now, and have reduced the swelling, but the rash is worse. The most calming lotion I have found is pure aloe vera gel, without extra ingredients, but the rash is not subsiding. Anyone have suggestions?

      • Jason January 16, 2016 at 1:20 pm Reply

A red scaly like rash sounds a little like Eczema and could also be from Candida or Gut issues in general (like Leaky Gut Autoimmune etc), although it seems like a coincidence it is on Achilles that is the most sore and damaged for either of you. This is one of the only other things I can think of and for you Carla I noticed you might be having fair amount of Sugar which would make it worse (Honey, Fruits, Ice Cream, Pudding, etc) so avoiding those and fixing Gut if that is what it is. For creams I am not sure and never usually have to use them, again depends on root cause (like if allergy-based I guess one more possibility actually, avoiding trigger and something with anti-histamine properties in it), but I think Aloe Vera with no additives sounds like a good choice.

Hey guys, can you help me out? I am wondering if symptoms randomly move about. One day I’ll have more severe pain in my hands, numbness in my fingers then it will move to my hips with burning nerve pain. Another day my skin is very sensitive to touch. All the other symptoms don’t actually go away just seem worse in other areas for some reason. Have you experienced this?

I’m 3 months from taking Cipro. I had very few symptoms in the beginning but more and more keep showing up. Most of the symptoms seem to be nerve related, burning pain, numbness and tingling through most of my body.

I went yesterday for an Vitamin C IV, I am taking magnesium, b vitamins, trying dry sauna and trying to swim every other day. Is there anything else I can try, it’s getting really hard to go to work and take care of my family.

    Thank you!

It sounds like you are on the right track. You might add probiotic and check on iodine. I had severe pain in my hands and my joints locked up and my blood test came back with high inflammatory markers. I had some 75mg Indomethacin (for gout) in my medicine cabinet and got instant relief. I know NSAIDS go against the grain for most floxies but it worked for me. I was able to drop down to 25mg twice a day and quit taking it after 4 months. I still take some Meloxicam 7.5mg. It allowed me to carry on my job duties and get my feet under me. I’m 6 months out but feel like I’m making good progress. I am working out every day with little weight and lots of reps. Hope you get to feeling better.

Ann it has happened to me seems as the weather gets colder or changes just like a sinus pressure headache but a Thousand times worse. It comes and goes with me, I never had high blood pressure but after being Floxed I have it here and there along with heart palpitations. I am nine years into this and can not believe I somehow survived just by doing things that made ME feel better, in 2007 I had nothing to guide me at all, nothing was even mentioned about tendon until 2009 I had already taken Levequin 6 times along with Albuterol for my sinus infections ,Chemo drugs for simple infections made absolutely No sense then or now. In 2007 the Doctors had no warnings about what these drugs COULD & WOULD DO to PEOPLE, so they were blameless then but now with so much more information out in the open for people & Doctors to read, not one more person should be Floxed ever again.2007 started a roller coaster of so many things that were detrimental to my health and I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was in store for, I say this so many times but it is the truth in Hindsight I would have known the symptoms I was having had I been told of them, the only thing I can relate back to 2007 was tendon tears and dizziness the dizziness was a listed side effect which I hook off as to much exercising and not enough fluids, the Tendon Tears were not yet associated with these toxic drugs, so I had no idea what caused them, again I tried to slow down at the gym which was a LOW IMPACT GYM,I went 3-5 days a week along with walking 1 – 2 miles a day, I needed knee surgery and wanted to be as healthy as possible before having it, that surgery never happened because in 2009 I started to Sleep& sleep & sleep I was unable to drive because I would actually fall asleep driving that was a frighting time, not knowing why these things were happening to me after all I was in the BEST PHYSICAL SHAPE OF MY ADULT LIFE. I know now had I not been so healthy I would not be here typing these words, but I am still here NINE YEARS Post Floxed seeing if I can help anyone who is just beginning to exhibit some if not all of theses side effects which are the Norm nothing about them are “RARE” Nothing at all, any of these things can and will happen to some of you, hopefully not as many as happened to me, just know that taking care of yourselves now before more symptoms start will be the BEST THING YOU CAN DO FOR YOURSELVES, as I said I had nothing to guide me no one knew anything about this. I am saddened for each and everyone of you who slipped through and was given this POISON, there was absolutely NO NEED for anyone of you to become ill, post 2009,2013 when they announced that Tendon Tears/ruptures were Possible, when they announced Perihipial Neuropathy was Possible. These side effects are not Possible they are probable and please do everything you can to keep them in check by eating right taking your Vitamin & mineral supplements anything YOU can do to keep yourselves from progressing in this disease and it WILL PROGRESS if you allow it too. Having severe digestive issues I have given up dairy completely, sugar was gone years ago and now gluten which was not a problem for me..I have found that PINEAPPLES in any form WILL HELP YOUR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM, only if unable to go, please stay away from it if you are having the other problem of going to much. Pineapple has also caused me to urinate more which is another form of cleansing. I have just begun trying this but either way I’m getting a great source of vitamin C which we all need. Wishing you all the best of health, hoping you find what helps heal you the most, I wish I could tell you all of the things that may or may not happen but I cant, I can only say if something feels wrong it probably is please do not dismiss anything like I did way back when. I am just very grateful for this site Floxie Hope has literally saved my life, giving me hope that I can heal and feel better. I know not all of my injuries will go away but in the very least I can now manage many with the useful tips I have found here, just knowing I am NOT ALONE IN THIS IS COMFORTING, yet I wish that I were, because then you all would not be going through this horrible disease. I wish you all healing and truth in finding all you need for your journey that lies ahead.

Im so sorry you also going through this. And that you have had this for 9 years. I hope that you can heal, now that you know what happened.
I got so sick on The fifth day, and Ended up in ER. So i did know pretty Quickly what happened, and looked on The internet if others had experienced The same thing. And i was so sad, and scared, when i saw so many People out there, Who had been Hurt by antibiotics, or should i say poison.
Im only 10 weeks out, and have so many side effects.
Im doing everything i can to try to heal, like you, i dont eat gluten, no Coffee, no sugar, no alcohol, only organic food. And eating supplements, but my stomach cant take to much, so i try to eat much vitamins in food.
Pineapple sounds good, so you have seen changes when you eat that? 🙂
Today i did a turmeric tea, to see if that can help, i also do smoothies with berries and coconut oil and more.
But its Hard, every day im trying to heal, but sadly nothing has improved. But im hoping.
I also hope that everybody heals, nobody should be going through this, nobody.

        • Linda January 15, 2016 at 10:44 am

Turmeric is great on a number of levels. It is antiinflammatory and it can also help with depression (1000 mg day of 95% curcumin is what was used in the study for depression—beat Prozac!). Add a tablespoon of coconut oil to your smoothie. For one thing it has Lauric acid that converts to monolaurin in the body—it has been shown to be useful in increasing immunity and fighting viruses and disease. Also, increased energy and metabolism, antibacterial effects, anti-parasitic effects, and thyroid benefits; and as a medium chain fatty acid—it also supports the brain and nerves. (Read they are actually using it for multiple sclerosis, where there is damage to the nerve’s myelin sheath.) Get only virgin coconut oil.

Also, if you read my older posts I am a huge fan of nutrient IVs. I got nowhere with doctors and no progress until I started IVs.

I know medications are the last thing any of us need, but when the Neuropathy pain gets to much to bear I do take very seldom Meloxicam, which helps relive that burning itching crawling fire ant biting feeling in my legs, one 25mg tablet actually helps for over a month. I am trying to get away from everything unnatural using only what has been grown organically. Since I have been dealing with this for NINE YEARS I had no options that I could find back then, but what the doctors prescribed to me. I have decide to stop taking anything for pain, I will probably not be able to walk but if it allows me to get my health back it is worth trying. Healthy days ahead for all, do not ever give up. Life is precious and you will get through everything that comes your way.

        • Bob January 14, 2016 at 7:06 pm

I have had leg and foot pain like that for the last 2 years. Did you any negative effects of the Meloxicam

        • ChristmasCarla January 16, 2016 at 10:38 am

Lisa, I have been using Manuka Honey on my floxed ankle to fight the lingering infection, and it does help a lot with relieving the pain. I spread it on the ankle, cover with gauze and hold in place with loose cotton sock. It works for 12 hours or so before the pain begins again.

Thank you Bruce and Daniela for your help. I hope you guys are feeling better soon. What can be done for nerve pain? I will try acunpuncture. Some days It is almost too much to handle.

Acupuncture for “circulation” took this away immediately. I posted the herbal mix on the last page (if you can find it, sorry). I haven’t gotten it back for months.

Has anybody experienced this awful head pressure? Its like my brain is mashed. Its back on my neck, back on The head and in the forehead, and a pressure so bad in my ears. And down my back.Soon i Will take a pain killer, this is awful. I have it all day long. Have anybody had that, and did it go away?

    • Daniela January 14, 2016 at 11:13 am Reply

I had that for a long time — it went away so much that I had forgotten I had it in the beginning until you just mentioned it. Youtube meditation videos helped a lot!!

You could also try the Brandt Daroff movements (really simple) for inner ear relief.

Maybe you should avoid a pain killer. I know it’s hard to not take something, but think about it: that’s what got us into this situation in the first place.

Yes, you are right about The pain killers , but i can not stand it anymore soon. I have had this for 10 weeks now. How long did it took for you to go away? Did you also have it all day? And The ear pressure?
Thanks i Will watch brandt daroff movements, and try it. I do meditate, but have a Hard time to relax, but i Will keep trying and trying.

        • Daniela January 14, 2016 at 5:52 pm

I know, I’m still trying to get a good yoga meditation routine going. I think you should stick it out because once you take medication it just gets worse and lasts longer.
But I had horrific pressure in my head, this side, that side, in my ears. Horrible noises in my ears, too. But it went away after a few years for me, but I was given elephant doses, a lot more than most of the people here.
Did you recently stop drinking or consuming caffeine? A lot of us immediately couldn’t tolerate caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate) after floxing — but not having the amount you’re used to produces withdrawal headaches. Just something to know to keep in mind. I was terrified by those headaches but then I realized what they were.
Try not to worry. I turned out to be stronger than I thought.

        • Linda January 14, 2016 at 6:36 pm

“I turned out to be stronger than I thought.” You and me both. I wanted “out” for almost two months when my breathing was so suffocating I gasped for every breath. But I also had horrific upper back pain. Felt like it was deep in the bone…worse than when I had cracked ribs. I didn’t take anything for it because no way was I going to put more junk in my body. (I even refused NSAIDs for pericardial effusion (fluid around the heart) also from the Cipro. The pain was truly hideous and it was only after several IVs from the naturopath that it went away. One of the side effects that never returned.

A few years??? Ohhh i hope that its not going to last that long for me, because when i think of a few years im starting to cry. This is The most awful pressure in my head i have every felt. And its getting worse every day. Like you said, pressure here and there around The head, back and ears.
Did The sounds also echo in your head, i cant stand sounds, it Hurt my ears so bad and The head.elephant doses? do you mean medication?
No caffeine for me. Because i also have bad panicattacks, so its getting worse when i drink Coffee and so on. But i do miss a good cup of Coffee

I have had head pressure for about the last 3 months which has been debilitating. It seems to be fading somewhat. The trouble with this poison is you don’t know when some terrible symptom is going to come or go away. I just try to believe someday they will all go away.

      • Daniela January 14, 2016 at 7:00 pm Reply

like linda said. don’t underestimate the power of this poison. take good care of yourselves.

if anyone wants to get together a meditation group, let me know !

        • Daniela January 14, 2016 at 7:07 pm

I think I had the head pressure around the same time as the ear noise and the bizarre tastes in my mouth. They all wanted to do imaging with dye, etc etc….then looked at my lack of insurance and lost interest!

But it’s been a few years later so I guess it wasn’t a CNS leak or brain tumor after all. Or maybe I died and just didn’t realize it. LOL

Hang in there, it will be all right.

I also have a weird taste in my mouth, like metallic taste sometimes. And sometimes The food is tasting very weird to.
The ear noise, you mean tinnitus? When The pressure comes, The tinnitus noises becomes worse. And i also have a clicking sound every time i swallow. The only time i feel like my head is not killing, it is in the morning.
I also worry that something is really wrong in the head, im going for an mri. Just to check.

        • Linda January 14, 2016 at 11:03 pm

just wanted to mention re the weird taste. At first I had what was like the taste of baking soda. a couple months after that it was something else—maybe metallic, can’t recall. I was eating veryclean—organic, nongmo, lots of veg and fruit and lean protein with HCL betaine. The taste thing just disappeared completely after about 4-5 months. It’s annoying, but don’t worry. It will go away.

          Hi Linda!!

How are you? Hope you are feeling better and continue in the road for recovery. I also had that same metallic taste and horrible dry mouth. My tongue couldn’t separate from the inside of my mouth that’s how dry it was then I developed cold sores all around my lips but they also went away. It was nasty and painful!! It lasted for about 2 months and it went away by itself.

        • Lucero Rojas January 14, 2016 at 11:19 pm

          Hi Ann!

I am so sorry to hear that you are having so much pains and aches. I have been experiencing the same pains and aches as well. Specially with winter kicking in. Is like mg body is having a bad reaction to it since some of the pains and aches I didn’t have as bad as when summer was here. For the past 2 weeks or a little more I have been having really painful headaches, I feel the pressure on the back of my head that runs down my neck to my shoulders. Also my ears are aching!!! I feel pressure and the ringing went from a 1 barely Noticeable to like a 4. I started taking jot ginger tea 3x a day, hot golden milk w turmeric, basil hot tea, lavander and chamomile hot tea, and ACV w aloe vera juice. They helped somewhat w my horrible head pressure and pains as well as to the pressure I had in my ears. Also today I had my iv therapy and the vitamin b’s were added and somewhat they seemed to lessen the noise in my ears it went to almost a 1 again. I had never had ringing ears before I developed this after Floxing!!! Also, I started diffusing lavander EO at night for relaxation, headaches, and to sleep better it also seems to help somewhat. I also double the dose on my fish pills and my powder mag and my Vitamin c. I take 3 pills of fish oil 925mg each, I take 2000 mg of vitamin c and 600mg of powder mag. They seem to help as well. I take those big doses because now I know my body can tolerate them. You should try slow and see how you react. Everyone is different. But the teas I take I have no problems whatsoever. And all of them are antiflammatory. Tumeric is the only spicy that regenerates the brain and helps heal the dna. That’s what I read. That’s why I drink it everyday w no problem. Hope this helps! Be strong Ann! I know it’s hard but you can make you Will make it. I am 6 months out this month from taking 6,000 mg of cipro!!!

          Blessings

          Luz

The weird taste, i hope that it goes away soon. The food dosent taste like it used to. But maybe it Will take a couple a months to go away

        • Linda January 15, 2016 at 10:31 am

I know it is really annoying. I not only had the weird taste but also weird sense of smell (well it was of the charts, but even when I wasn’t asphyxiated by everything, there was still a scent of something there.) MY GI system was a mess and I was having trouble eating anything. I still have some GI issues, but better than I was. The taste thing seemed to dissipate as my diet got more normal and just with time. That is one of about 30 side effects that did not come back once it was gone. Hang in there.

        • Ann January 15, 2016 at 2:23 am

          Hi lucero
Thanks for your tips about The tea. I Will buy tumeric. I looked it up and found how to do a good tumeric tea 🙂
Okay so you are 6 months out from cipro floxing. Have you improved a along The way?
I have not take an fluoroqinolone, but i took flagyl, also a awful poison. And The side effects are The same, and toxic.
Ok, so you did some IV, have you done it before? what kind, gluthatione? Good that your ears became better from it. Here in sweden we dont have IV treatments. Otherwise i would have dont it instantly.
I also take fish oil, vit d, probiotics, magnesium and chlorella. But i cant take too much of anything, because of my stomach.
Now im looking forward to try tumeric tea 🙂

You’re right, Ann, it could be the flagyl. They often give them together.

I tried that tumeric tea now… Mmm it was good 🙂 and my stomach dont seem to protest either 🙂
Your list about side effects seem almost to be mine. I have so many side effects. Im also off balance, like The world sways. But i seem to have everything you have/had.
How long is it, since you been floxed?
When did your side effects start to dissapear? Im happy to hear that you are better. I hope i Will to.
About The insomnia, i have that still. Im waking up restless, and twitches in my body. And The nightmares, every night and im waking up and my heart pounds like crazy.

When I see so many people suffering from these Poisons now in 2016 it makes me want to cry. I took Levequin in 2007 – early 2009 just before they admitted it caused Tendon Problems, now going into my ninth years of recovering, I have only recently found you all which saddens me because You are all suffering needlessly. These poisons should have been removed from everyday antibiotics because THEY ARE NOT,THEY ARE POISONOUS TO HUMANS, THE FDA NEEDS TO REALIZE THIS AND LISTEN TO THE PUBLIC,ESPECIALLY THOSE OF US WHO ARE SUFFERING,WE HAD LIVES,WE WERE HEALTHY & OVERNIGHT WE ARE SICKLY AND SUFFERING. 750mg ten days at a time of Levequin 3/19/2007 through early 2009 Just before that tendon warning, I had no idea what was happening to me, I was extremely healthy worked out 3-5 days a week & walked 1-2 miles a day. Then I started to sleep? My sister was diagnosed with terminal cancer & I thought I was depressed, she had chemo treatments & had more energy then me ? I am certain had I not been in such great physical shape I would not be here. I was just 46 years young and enjoying life, had a back injury ,got into shape to fix my knee which never happened, because of this poisoning. FORTY FIVE THOUSAND MILLIGRAMS OF LEVEQUIN IN 2 & a Half years, why didn’t I realize what it was doing to me? I had no idea because there was nothing on anything I read to connect it with what was happening to me, four things ONLY may cause (1) Dizziness (2) Drowsiness (3) Constipation (4) Diarrhea I would get dizzy at times but it wasn’t that often or much to concern me, being I was exercising a lot I thought I needed to eat something. again nothing there to Warn me of the Horrors to come,Tremors,Nightmares shortness of breath, I had popping tendons in both shoulders, never had any type of heart problems ever Now both Mitral & tricuspid Vales regurgitation tachycardia, palpitations All of these things plus MOST of what is NOW LISTED as POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS,THESE ARE NOT POSSIBLE IN MY OPINION THEY ARE PROBABLE & my hope for each and everyone of you that have just been Floxed is your able to slow or stop these from Happening to you. Through Nutrition and anything else that helps YOU as an INDIVIDUAL it is a Hit & Miss situation one thing will work for one person & not another, the main thing is to educate Yourselves as Much as possible, I am trying the best way possible now that I know these THINGS ARE REAL,THAT LEVEQUIN POISONED ME & SADLY THERE ARE OTHERS THAT ARE GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING. I will have to say that Most of the worse things happened two years after stopping Levequin. I felt fine until late 2008 that is when the S… Hit the Fan, I just hope through nutrition you all are able to avoid some of these side effects. Wishing you all the Best of Health Post being Floxed. Most of the original symptoms have left me, but the worse ones are still with me. I am trying to do the things I have learned here, looking for a Doctor who understands the urgency of my situation, I am so tired of Doctors misdiagnosing me, I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. More Doctors NEED to understand this as well. May you all find a way to cleanse yourselves of these Toxins. I am just happy to still be here, knowing I am not alone is worth everything to me.

I also hope that this Will go away soon, very very soon i hope.

          Hi Ann,
So it could be caffeine withdrawal for you, too. Good news — the painful headachses last only a few more days, just hang in there and when it’s over, it wil be completely over. Just don’t start drinking coffee again.

I just started making a really thick turmeric tea. One heaping teaspoon of ground turmeric (from the Arabic or Indian store, just in case), make a paste with coconut oil, honey and lemon, and sprinkle in some black pepper. Add boiling water. Today I used broth. It’s very rich and soothing.

No i dont think its because of no Coffee, probably after flagyl, side effects, have had this terrible head pressure for 10 weeks now. I hope you are right, that this Will go away soon. I cant function.
          No more Coffee for me
I also did turmeric tea now… Mmm it was good, i hope my stomach can take it without starting to Hurt.
The turmeric seem to have many positive things, so now i Will take it every day 🙂

Ann Yes mine went away. It was diagnosed as being due to codeine, than a back problem, hair with a cushion to support my neck to take the strain off the head/neck muscles.

the dry eyes and concretions. I went to physio who advised me to sit in a supportive chair, to watch TV at eye level but only for short periods of time.
Drs ruled out infections first and also did auto immune tests.

I had to change my spectacles as well to a stronger lens. This helped as well.

      Hang on in there.

    Jason,

Can you recommend a good iodine protocol? I don’t really know where to start.

    • Jason January 14, 2016 at 7:01 pm Reply

Hi Mark. The whole last page is full of Iodine info, I recommend reviewing all of it before starting by using your Internet Browser’s “search the page feature”, and searching for Iodine. Info on what else is good to take with it, how to test yourself (including a post Lisa did with link to more info) and info on how much to take etc. How much kind of depends on your goal as well, and how deficient or sufficient you might be. My goal was to bring levels up and mobilize Fluorine, Fluorides and hopefully Cipro with it, so I could purge it. For this I did not take crazy high amounts like some Protocols out there. I think I started with 6 drops just to “test the waters”, make sure I don’t have big detox reaction etc (that is possible). Then I quickly went up to 10, 15, and I think 20 was the highest I went, I did not want to stress the Thyroid and was worried about that. I didn’t use it everyday, I used it when I was feeling mostly “good” and going to exercise as well, and Sauna. Then when things went “South” (planned down-turn, if someone does not want this probably best to stick to lower amounts) I backed off to like 6 drops only, and even skipped days, until I felt good again. That was my little routine but it won’t be right for many people.

In the Hair Loss post last page there is info on amounts, and duration as well. The stopthethyroidmadness link last page had lots of good info and a PILE of links to even more info, here is more info from same site different page, less links here but there is 132 comments from people http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/2013/12/29/companion-nutrients-the-key-to-iodine-protocol/

Here is more info here in a PDF, indicating there is no “set amount” as I alluded to, but that some think that 20 drops of the 2% Lugols solution is a “maintenance dose” due to all the exposure people get to Halides, Bromine etc

Dr. Sircus and Brownstein are both huge Iodine Advocates, but note they are often behind the big dose needed beliefs (which could be true, I just didn’t want to go “there”)

Yes the main objective for me is to purge the fluoride. Last time I got my TS3 tested, I fell within relatively normal range. So I don’t think my thyroid is a problem. Just want to get this nasty stuff out of my body ASAP!

Wow you went hard with it. I read a blog where a man started off with just 1-2 drops and had a bad detox reaction when he upped it to five. I think I’m going to start it off by playing it very safe and see how I react from there.

        • Jason January 14, 2016 at 7:34 pm

Well some people are more sensitive to it for many reasons, like being too low on Selenium, Candida and more etc so keep that in mind, and also he could have been using 10% Solution or 5% Solution, I was using 2% which is quite weak really (weakest one out there IIRC). I think I took a “Middle of the Road” approach (kind of like Mercola alludes to), many many people take much more, but yeah I wanted the crap out ASAP as well, so I wasted no time in bumping it up. I credit Iodine & Borax, along with Exercise & Sauna, along with Selenium and other AO’s, and the “binding” supplements I took for my quick recovery, IIRC I was 80% at 10 weeks and 85% at 12 weeks, of course I took so many things its hard to say which helped most, and all evidence is anecdotal only that anything helped, but there was no mistaken what was going on during the process.

I should mention my extremely clean diet before and during as well, and the avoidance of ALL other toxins, caffeine, stimulants, etc as much as possible, especially drugs (which of course is the first thing they offer you if you go to Doctor complaining….gee thanks, bastards)

The iodine recommended to me by my naturopath is by Biotics, called Iodizyme. It says to take 1/2 tablet, but he told me to take a whole one. I did for a few months then went to 1/2…if you want an alternative.

I read your website and post about Toxicity Syndrome and poison related effects of taking: Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, Floxin, and more. The damage or possible complications that you wrote about include damage to connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, cartilage, fascia, etc.) You said that fluoroquinolone side effects may damage the central, peripheral, and automatic nervous system.

    • Linda January 15, 2016 at 11:59 am Reply

They do all that and more. The breadth of destruction of these drugs is far-reaching. At the November hearing of the FDA safety subcommittee, they characterized fluorquinolone toxicity syndrome as involving any of the following: peripheral nervous system, neuropsychiatric, musculoskeletal, senses, cardiovascular, and skin. Additionally, the Cipro warning alone is 43 pages. THere are many sources out there on this, including Dr Jay Cohen’s http://www.jaycohenmd.com/fluoroquinolone.html

Joseph I am not a professional by any means I only know what LEVEQUIN did to me, it gave me Tendon tears & Perihipial Neuropathy along with So many other things it would take an hour to list, all I can tell you is if your having tingling pain in hands or legs Please get an EMG to confirm either way, you will need to try to slow down this disease as there is NO CURE for it. My Doctor from years ago who did carpal tunnel surgery on me told me that all the B Vitamins were great for the nervous system, especially B 6. I repeat I am not a health professional just someone who has been fighting to get my life back for the past NINE YEARS. Best of health & try to find what is right for you, that is the only way to help ease some of these horrible side effects. The FDA ordered the warnings about the Nerve damage in 2013, I am sorry this has happened to you. The pharmaceutical sites theirselves now list every side effect possible. You will find 68 pages of Potential Side Effects sadly most are the norm not the rare.

      • Debs January 15, 2016 at 3:11 pm Reply

An EMG/NCS will very likely miss peripheral nerve damage unless the damage is on the severe side, & even then it can very often miss it . A skin punch biopsy is actually a far more sensitive test used for diagnosing peripheral neuropathy. For anyone looking for confirmation of damage to the peripheral nerves this test Is the one I would suggest seeking out, as It is far more likely to pick this type of damage up.

    • Debs January 15, 2016 at 3:53 pm Reply

These are not ‘ side effects ‘ Joseph. FQs do not cause ‘ side effects ‘ apart from the usual immediate allergic reactions, upset tummy etc which can happen with any drug whilst you are taking it. ( actually there are no such thing as ‘ side effects ‘ drugs have EFFECTS, & the phrase ‘ side effects ‘ is Big Pharmas attempt to cloud the seriousness of many of these effects. ) Many of the effects of drugs, they also do not appear by accident but are expected, & some of them, they are also often by design. Fluoroquinolone damage is literally direct systemic damage to the body & brain

You cannot of course have ‘ side effects ‘ to a drug , once you are no longer taking it , & Fluoroquinolone antibiotics are noted for their delayed adverse reactions, which can surface weeks, many months or even later, in fact a very long time after you have finished the course.
The Fluoroquinolone so called ‘ antibiotics ‘ are actually failed chemo drugs masquerading as such, they are Topoisomerase inhibitors, & the same as with chemo FQs can also present with what are known in the field of Oncology as ‘ late effects ‘ ( delayed adverse reactions ).
When you think of the word ‘ antibiotic ‘ & the problems which can sometimes arise for people, Fluoroquinolones are actually so far removed from what is usually brought to mind, they are a completely different animal .

      • Jason January 15, 2016 at 5:11 pm Reply

Yeah some good points there, I think the Entire World has been “Snowed” on what side effects really are, which almost every time is DAMAGE, from the toxic effects of the drug, no matter which drug it is. They ALL have “side effects”, because they are ALL toxic, chemicals were never meant to put in someone’s body and never will be, and all have the ability to do damage to people, so every time you take one no matter what it is, you “roll the dice”, will this be the time your Liver gets significantly affected, Kidney damage, Brain damage, Gut damage, even “upset stomach” sounds innocent and something people write off as just a “side effect”, when really its damage being done (and in fact I believe damage is being done with every pill of every drug [seems impossible for it not too], its just the body is so resilient and good at healing that many people will never “notice”).

That is what they should truly be called, not possible side effects or ADR’s, but “possible damages” what they really are, people would sure think twice if they were all clearly listed to them and presented as “damage” and told the truth every pill damages, which is why they are not presented that way (for example every single Antibiotic no matter which type destroys good bacteria in your Gut, and it is coming to light that in many cases it is GONE for good, it explains a LOT actually). The body can bounce back without too much trouble from many of the weaker drugs most times (although it can be cumulative over years too, even with Advil continually damaging the Liver until someone finally gets “Fatty Liver” or worse), but as we see here its a different story with something as powerful as a Fluoroquinolone

I was on the Facebook page recently, and the first thing I noticed was the amount of long time sufferer’s there who are taking drugs and/or piles of drugs, and don’t watch their diet. I find it heart-breaking, that some people feel they have no choice but to continue to turn to drugs because they were “programmed” that drugs are the answer. I interacted with a couple of these people who were looking to me for help, and I had to tell them that the best advice I could give was find a “real” Doctor to help them get off the drugs, because to me that is a top priority from trying to heal from an already toxic drug damaged body, stop putting in more toxins.

      • Linda January 15, 2016 at 6:22 pm Reply

I SO agree with you Debs! Calling them side effects I believe really diminished what we have gone through. I call them “elements of torture.” And I told a doctor the other day that I happened to see (trying to not intentionally go near anymore!) that they were failed chemo drugs and she said “that’s absurd.” I assured her they were, but she refused to believe it. This whole system is so rigged. Even when the FDA does know about the atrocities from these drugs, do they send an urgent memo to all doctors? No, of course not. That might harm the profits of their thug partners. I love how they will make a big deal and lots of PR about say, tanning beds not being healthy, to make it look like they are actually “protecting us,” but it is only because that is not a multi-billion dollar industry.

        • Jason January 15, 2016 at 6:39 pm

From the lips of a former FDA commissioner in 1969 (nothing has changed)

        • Linda January 15, 2016 at 6:58 pm

Not only that…the outgoing commissioner ALSO stated that the FDA’s client was the pharmaceutical industry. It is just staggering that so many hundreds of thousands can have been damaged and STILL it is the best kept medical secret!

On Monday, a FREE GUT Seminar starts, with THIRTY-FIVE GUT EXPERTS (some big names too) all going to talk about some of THE most important issues that happen in the Gut, and as it turns out, are VERY common among Floxed people.

Sign up here, again, it is FREE, there is an option to buy it but you do not need to:

      Hey Dan,

Ciprofloxacin was my poison. My reaction was delayed in that it started 2 weeks after I finished the prescription. I kept getting new symptoms for about 6 months. I gradually started to get better after that. I still felt sick for 12-18 months. Now I’m more than 4 years out and I am pretty much 100% healed.

      Regards,

Dan it was nice speaking with you, I am still so hopeful that you all will be able to overcome what these Antibiotics did to us, Levequin took away Nine years, as I told you I had small side effects at first which didn’t connect with Levequin, now nine years later it all makes perfect sense. I have been searching every nook and corner of the internet, I’m not certain if anyone here had mentioned Leaky Gut ? I know it sounds awful but it will give you all the explanation on how this ALL is happening to us. There are more and more Doctors everyday learning about this LGS as it has become on of the worst diseases being 50% of the population has it and it is Caused by Toxins and most importantly to us here Antibiotics. You will find all the information you need on this site http://www.funtionalmedicine.com I hoe and pray you will all find healing while it is still fixable. Healthy to all. Well News Flash to all the Doctors that are STILL IN DENIAL ABOUT THIS, These Fluoroquinolones ARE POISIONUS TO THE HUMAN BODY. Merck Manual states ” many of the New Fluoroquinolones have been withdrawn Because of their TOXICITY, ” IT GOES ON. saying further things you can Google if interested. Bottom Line here is these Fluroquinolones have Poisoned Us some worse then others yet we were ALL STILL ADVERSLY EFFECTED ,our lives have changed forever and all we can do now it Try our best to heal as much as possible. Please look up the Functional Medicine site, it explains in detain exactly how these toxins were able to get into our systems through our small intestines. Blocking Nutrients and Allowing Toxins in. jason, have not yet exercised, but will try the sauna tonight. i think my mistake was to hit the treadmill in the first 2 weeks in. i must of lost more minerals that way. by the way more leg and butt pain in last 4 night while sleeping. wondering if it is due to inactivity? doing alot of walking though. dan.

    • Jason January 15, 2016 at 3:01 pm Reply

Hi Dan. Some people can have a very delayed reaction like 2 years, it probably happens more than is realized, because many people never connect it to the damn drugs

Inactivity can cause circulation to stagnate more, for me this is bad, and when I was suffering I always noticed pain was was quite bad first thing in the morning until I started moving around and got ‘blood flowing’. Having Acidic blood magnifies this issue, and people who are missing Minerals like Floxies will tend more towards the Acidic side than balanced or Alkaline. Several issues here, inflammation is a common end result in many cases, resulting in pain and/or more pain.

Pains can often come and go while Floxed of course too, sometimes it seems for no reason, but to me there are reasons, which can be as simple as something someone ate, like even just some added “Yeast” in a food product (I have to avoid it), which can trigger Candida in someone and/or flare it up, causing more pain (happens to me if I accidentally eat some). There are SO many things to watch for, its very limiting and a PITA.

Walking is great exercise, don’t think you have to play Rugby or anything for it to count, and actually a lot of walking can cause someone more pain as well. Floxie muscles, tendons, ligaments, etc are often damaged, even if slightly but sometimes significantly, again inflammation is often behind this weakening everything making them more prone to soreness and tears, DNA damage too, lack of minerals nutrients, etc so people have to be careful how much they push themselves, and be sure to rest when things are sore.

Hi, this is a question for Jason. I have some maximal (mineral supplement), and it contains: potassium chloride; potassium sorbate; copper glucomate; manganese sulphate; thiamine hydrochloride; sodium molybdate; cyanocobalamin. Are these same to take? Also some ‘Mega-mag’ from Trace Minerals, contains: magnesium; chloride; sodium; potassium; sulate and boron. Are these also safe to take?

    • Jason January 16, 2016 at 6:08 am Reply

Hi there. The first one seems to have some cheaper forms/versions of the Minerals, and quite sub-optimal IMO in most of them and to me what seems to be an unnecessary preservative as well (potassium sorbate, not the best ingredient but GRAS probably and common when it is actually needed). I don’t think there is anything truly harmful there, other than Cyanocobalamin contains a cyanide molecule, which is quite nasty yet it is the most popular form used in most supplements (cheapest). Its definitely not something I would ever buy or use, I stick to trusted companies and higher quality.

The Mega-Mag one “seems” better, maybe, yet they don’t disclose the forms they are using, which to me is a red flag, but it seems maybe these are sourced from the “Sea” and maybe that is why it is just them in natural forms. I am not familiar with the company to know if it is trusted, but did see a few people mention them recently which I think were saying good things (take that with a large grain of salt…). What is in there and the amounts seem to be fine, except some people might have a little trouble with Sulfate (although I think that is pretty small amount). If I researched the company and it checked out I would probably take this one.

Note nothing of what I have said takes into account someone’s possible imbalances discovered through proper testing, or their Genetic dispositions (I did mention Sulfur though). Also note I am not an expert, and this is not medical advice.

Jason, I am having a bit of a problem. I take one Magnesium salts bath a week for my muscle and joint pain. I started taking Magnesium malate, magnesium glycinate, and magnesium L Threonate a few days ago (all as directed) along with using Ancient Minerals oil on my arms, shoulders and neck. I hate to put this out there, but I have had the worst case of diarrhea! It is what it is….However, I can’t work like this. I started using them on the weekend first to see how they would effect me, but it has been horrible. I teach high school, so I can’t leave my classroom every 2 min to run to the restroom and pray I get there in time. None of these forms are supposed to cause diarrhea, but I definitely have it. The sad part is I can tell that I feel better physically and emotionally after just a couple of days using them….do you have any suggestions that may help me? I want to try Magnesium taurate and chloride, but I’m at a point that I am afraid to spend the money. I was so excited about finally getting the others in the mail this week, and now I am really bummed that I may not be able to take them because of my stomach issues. I hate to keep bothering you, but I know you have tried all of these supplements and would welcome any advice you can offer me. Thank you!

        • Daniela January 17, 2016 at 9:54 am

This is a floxie symptom. Have you eliminated grains from your diet? If not, see if that makes a difference. You should notice in a day or two. If so, keep that up for at least a few months before you try a grain again. It takes a long time to heal the gut.

Cut back on the magnesium supplement. First of all, you need to cut back on magnesium if you experience diarrhea. Secondly, supplements are often made with a lot of starch as binder.

        • jwinn January 17, 2016 at 12:05 pm

Daniela, I have only been taking a minimal dosage of each Mag supplement, and it has been chronic. Should I just try one of them a day and see how it goes? I have to go back to work on Tues so I don’t have much time for experimenting. I took them at 7:30 a.m and have been having severe problems ever since.

        • Jason January 17, 2016 at 1:16 pm

Hi Jwinn glad to hear you “felt improvements” but sorry to hear about the other part, unfortunately lots of Mag like the amounts a Floxed body needs will cause this (at least at first), and of course some people are more sensitive to it than others (Gut imbalances don’t help), and I think there is a bit of an “adjustment” phase for someone too where the body takes some time to get used to it, and where it definitely takes some time (can be a LOT of time) to get back into the cells.

I did not find the pills to really cause that effect for me and as you say those ones are not really known for it either, and I do think the Oil has that ability more so which it did for me as well.

However, If you are NEW to the Oil, AND to taking this much Mag in general you need to start SLOW on all this! I know the other Mag pill you were taking was sub-optimal and probably not very effective, so now you see the difference, you have to treat this like you were never taking Mag at all before, start slow with one type of pill only twice a day and maybe a couple sprays of Oil only, and let the body adjust to that and then start increasing from there, and you can use your bowels as a bit of a guide too. (For now you may have to cut it all out just to get Diarrhea to stop if you are scared about Classroom, that is a bit of sensitive work situation as you say)

I think this will help, I know when I started the Oil it used to sting for about the first week or so, then that effect went away. Then when I increased it more, I got some Diarrhea for a bit, and I sometimes woke up a little “dizzy” and light-headed, that Mag Oil is powerful powerful stuff, can really make a dent in a lot of Floxie symptoms.

Other than that, Diet is very important as Daniela suggests, apparently a “BRAT” diet is supposed to help (bananas, rice (white), applesauce and toast) I would leave out the toast and substitute Millet, Quinoa for Grains (Gluten-free), and generally increasing “Fiber” intake can help, like ground Flaxseed in veggie shakes, etc. Yogurt is supposed to help, but I have seen this cause the opposite effect too many times so can’t recommend it. Avoid many of the trigger foods, dairy (although cheese can “bung you up” and cause constipation so could maybe help, even though it is bad [or very bad] for Floxie in general IMO), carbonated or caffeinated drinks, Fried and greasy foods, “gassy fruits and veggies”.

You can also take Probiotics and Saccharomyces boulardii which could both help, ginger root tea, activated charcoal at night other ideas.

These seem like some decent ideas here and a few I mentioned already:
Edit – Okay found another website FH won’t let me post, google this:

Thanks, Jason..I appreciate your suggestions. Am already taking ginger root….can’t do the yogurt, but will try the other things. I’m hoping to continue to be able to take the supplements!

    • Jason January 16, 2016 at 1:30 pm Reply

I would not do it more than once every 3 – 5 days for a few reasons (Dehydrating, depleting Electrolytes and Minerals, heat can aggravate inflammation thus pain [colder shower after recommended], heat and moisture can stimulate Candida, probably more I am not thinking of at moment).

Start slow too like with heat, time inside, frequency etc to see how your body is going to react, and drink lots of mineralized water before during and after (and/or take minerals and replenish Sodium, Potassium, etc other ways, but drink lots of water either way). Sauna is a great way to sweat out toxins, something your body does naturally (and some Floxies have trouble sweating, these can help), the added heat effect can mobilize stored toxins so yes be aware and prepared for that possibility.

      • Jason January 16, 2016 at 3:15 pm Reply

I knew there was at least one more, getting it hot enough to significantly sweat (I put water on the rocks and always have, even though my condo building says its electric and we are not supposed to [they have the temp set not very hot their own fault], never was good at following rules…), and then staying in long enough to really sweat a good amount is somewhat taxing on the Adrenal Glands, and especially if you “overdo” it and stay in too long (which I find also frazzles my nerves for a day when I stay in too long).

Starting at my comment on November 29, 2015 at 9:24 pm about 20% down the page, and then for pretty much the entire rest of the page I posted a ton of info on why the GUT is so important to a Floxie, and why I think it is preventing many people from healing faster and what can be done about it. Also on that page is how to generally heal from Candida, Leaky Gut, and more, links to more information, diet information, recipes, much more.

Also see my post on this page about the “FREE GUT summit” going on right now, 35 GUT experts amazing info being shared for free for a limited time only. I can no longer take on free private consultations it just eats up so much time, I am thinking about still being available to help people and if so have to work out how that will look and what will be fair for both parties.

This is so utterly disgusting and almost unbelievable, except sadly it is believable. I’ve read the Rockefeller history before, how they squashed Natural Medicine and took over Education including how Doctors are educated that chemical drugs are okay etc but this article goes WAY back to the beginning, where one cheating Liar set things in motion (and got the wheels in his head turning…) from a Cancer-curing scam no less in the early 1800’s (funny not much has changed in almost 200 years….).

Fascinating in one sense, yet oh so manipulative and pure greed and EVIL in another:

    http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/01/16/how-oil-industry-conquered-world.aspx

“How the Oil Industry Conquered Medicine, Finance and Agriculture”

Mercola summarized the whole thing from the start to “finish”*** (not finished….)

Whole article is good, couple quotes:

“The players involved in this ‘Gene Revolution’ are almost identical to the players in the Green Revolution, with I.G. Farben offshoots Bayer CropScience and BASF Plant Science mingling with traditional oiligarch associate companies like Dow AgroScience, DuPont Biotechnology and, of course, Monsanto, all funded by the Rockefeller Foundation …”

“The takeover of education, of medicine, of the monetary system, of the food supply itself, showed that the aim was much greater than a mere oil monopoly: it was the quest to monopolize all aspects of life, to erect the perfect system of control over every aspect of society, every sector from which any threat of competition to their power could emerge … But the oiligarchs are not done yet.

    • Jason January 17, 2016 at 3:49 am Reply

In Mercola’s words, here is why anyone interested should watch the whole documentary:

“In his usual style, Corbett manages to squeeze in an incredible amount of information in as compact a time-frame as is humanly possible, and I highly recommend taking the time to watch the video in full. What I’ve included here is but a summary overview of the many details he brings forth in this fascinating report. ”

“How Big Oil Conquered the World” is a brilliant piece of investigative journalism presented by James Corbett,1 revealing the immense extent to which the oil industry has shaped and is ruling the world as we know it. From farm to pharmaceutical, diesel truck to dinner plate, pipeline to plastic product, it is impossible to think of an area of our modern-day lives that is not affected by the petrochemical industry. ”

    • Linda January 17, 2016 at 10:58 am Reply

Words cannot describe the pure evil of this. We have what is called the worst environmental disaster since BP here in CA …”in the first month alone, the leak was responsible for about a quarter of California’s total methane emissions.” Thousands of families have been relocated and so many more want to be. It is unconscionable that it took several months and lots of screaming people (and Erin Brokovich, who has her hands so full these days with dirty water problems across the country.)

This is why everyone who is able to needs to WRITE people. We can complain on this site, but we are just spinning our wheels. It is frustrating and depressing but do it anyway. I have now written probably 50-60 letters and sent as many emails or online messages. Write members of congress, write celebrities who are vocal about things like this. Write News shows, write talk shows. I know Steph writes a lot too. But someone getting one or two letters doesn’t have the same impact as someone getting dozens or hundreds of letters. Stopping this nonsense not only helps prevent others from going through what we have suffered, but may also help us to, by getting someone to try to figure out how to fix us. Please everyone, if you are well enough, start writing. If you are not, ask your spouse, mother, friend to write. Start with your own members of Congress. Hit all the news stations (who of course have a lot of revenue from big pharma which is a problem. but at some point, someone may get a conscience.) The great piece from Canada, by 16 x 9 had a couple wonderful doctors and others who were so concerned. Contact them. Ask how we can go forward.

Send them to Erin Brockovich I have sent mine so many times please do it send it to Kate Snow at NBC via Facebook. Please people I am begging you. You want justice you need to fight for it. I contacted Erin B too a few times, and even apologized to her for “high-jacking” one of her posts about one of the many toxic water situations she is dealing with. (It kind of fit because it was about fluoride.) Write Lester Holt. I have written and tonight they are doing a segment on that cancer doctor who purposely misdiagnosed people. Problem with the networks are that they get so much money from big pharma. still, I hold out hope that someone will develop a conscience and do the job of journalism, not pandering.

Linda, there are Mass Tort cases being heard in New Brunswick NJ After nine years this has nothing to do with torn tendons anymore, The people asking for compensation ion have that right as we all do, I was ” Floxed” back in 2007 at that time I had nothing to help me, nobody knew anything about what I was going through, I literally slept for two years, had tremors and horrible dreams, this is going into my 10th year after taking my first Levequin pill and I am still here. I was in perfect physical shape as most of you are/ were and then Bang!!! I always ate right took daily supplements of all of these vitamins & minerals being talked about now. I think that is the ONLY REASON WHY I AM STILL HERE ? I was healthy, I have been to every ” Specialist ” imaginable test after test nothing wrong except the tendon tears, I do have a Full Body scan from 2006 just before taking Levequin, it will show anything that has changed from a skeletal/muscular perhaps even cellular level ? I am not sure but I do know it will get worse before it gets better, I hope that because you all have this knowledge about the Vitamins & supplements that will help ease the symptoms you can get through this easily as possible. I now know that being I was taking Nexium for GERD for several years my magnesium supply was probably null, so I do take Epsom salt baths daily and that helps a lot, as this type of magnesium Sulfates are transdermal they allow toxins to leech out & the magnesium to soak in through your skin, yes we all need to flood the newspapers,FDA and whoever will listen, the biggest problem facing us is the BIG PHARMACUTICAL COMPANIES. The FDA is supposed to PROTECT THE PUBLIC, if we rant & rave enough perhaps they might start doing their Job and keep these poisons away from the general public, also speak to your Doctors about this, show them articles that PROVE this is TRUE. I am lucky to have a Primary Care Dr who has seen for himself the things that happened to me right before his eyes. Do not take No for an answer, I was feeling pretty good for awhile, and last month I had gone for a consultation about having ankle surgery, the Orthopedic looked at my ankles and said he would be right back, before I could say a word he stuck a shot into my shoulder ? Cortisone !!! I freaked out because I wrote I had Levequin poisoning and was allergic to several things because of it, needless to say within an hour my cheeks became flushed my heart started palpitating and my ankle blew up. We all need to do what works for us, trial and error, just stay away from the things that you know cause you a problem. This was not fair to anyone of us, We need to keep it from happening over & over & over again to more people. Ten years later and I am saddened by how many of you have just recently been Floxed ? From what I have learned these past NINE YEARS is one thing, that is we all respond differently to different things, find what works best for you and stick to it. Using a juicer or blender for your fruits or veggies will make it easier for your body to digest being it is in small pieces already, simple things help a lot, Mag Vit C D B -6 B -12 Flax seed silymarine licorice root Turmeric cumin anti-inflammatory. Oil of Oregano is an all natural antibiotic, works for Bacterial Fungal and Viral infections. There are several good books on Amazon that help teach about using natural remedies. Health & luck to you all . I am so very sorry this has happened to you all. Never in a million years would I think almost Ten Years Later People are still being Poisoned by these Chemotherapeutic Drugs…. They used an Atom Bomb for a job a few frog men could take care of. Yep all connected, Their long term agenda, which involves not just big Pharma but their toxic partners in crime, offshoots/ various connections is something I quite often mention, it’s all part of the same toxic brew
When it comes to research, I learned long ago, & would always advise to always look into the history of anything you are researching , right the way back to the source, the very beginning. When it comes to drugs / vaccinations seek out long overlooked / forgotten articles / medical journals / old books etc, research libraries, the history of anything., this can tell you more than you would ever want to know, the FULL history of a subject can tell you a hell of a lot. in the end what is often thought of as conspiracy by a person is often only thought of as such, and limited to that conclusion as such, by the amount of in depth research carried out by that person.

Long ago I read a book called “The Poisoned Needle” that tells the whole story. The Rockefeller cabal took over with “gifts” and bribes. Same old story

      • Jason January 17, 2016 at 1:27 pm Reply

I just looked through that and it looks good, but is much more focused on vaccinations, and suppressed Facts About Vaccination (really that IS the entire focus, but it does briefly “touch” on the Rockefeller connection in spots of course as their dirty bloody hands were there)

Anyone getting vaccinated or has family members loved ones etc getting vaccinated with Flu shots or anything else should read it, and go to the CDC website to see what is openly disclosed about what is really in there, totally ridiculous the whole thing.

I’ve been on this website and read about this and other things before, and there is a “mind-boggling” crazy amount of information (must have taken many many years to compile) on this website about vaccines, take a look here, send this website to anyone still using these or given them to kids:

          http://www.whale.to/vaccines.html

        • Jason January 17, 2016 at 2:04 pm

Take a look at the actual “homepage”, I don’t know who is behind this website but they have gone to great depths and detail about TONS of different subjects and health subjects:

Fluoride, Diseases, Cancer Racket, tons of Therapies, Oxygen Therapy, Alzheimer’s Racket, All about Drugs and the Drug racket, Monsanto, tons about Foods, Raw Foods, Mercury, all about the AMA CDC FDA WHO, Religions, Animal Health, NASA, Chemtrails, ISIS, Gun Control, this list goes on and on and on, unbelievable compilation of information here for sure.

They seem to “specialize” in anything to do with where Greed and Corruption have ruined things, and fully exposes the “Poisoning People for Profit” World we live in.

If anyone out there still doubts the lengths at which Government and other Corporations tied to it etc will go to keep people in the dark, in order to poison them for profit, spend some time on this website.

Hi Jason or anyone with info on CBD oil, the other day my sister gave me some capsules to try, and I poured a 1/4 of cap under my tongue and it helped tremendously with the vertigo/soupy/racey head that I’ve been dealing with for 19 mos. I’ve tried it three more times now and it worked every time. If it continues to help, I’m sooo excited to finally have found something that doesn’t just help a little, but it takes it almost completely away for about 5 hours.
I don’t think it’s from marijuana, I think it’s from hemp, but I’m not sure. I will post info when I get it. I just wanted to know if anyone else had success with or knowledge of CBD oil?
Also, I would encourage anyone dealing with this debilitating side effect to try CBD oil.

    • Linda January 17, 2016 at 3:35 pm Reply

I haven’t with CBS but right now I am trying to use hemp oil to get ride of the gargantuan floater I got from Cipro. I am only on day 3, so will keep everyone posted. (I take 1 tsp a day usually mixed with salad dressing)

      • joanneg January 17, 2016 at 4:56 pm Reply

Hi Linda, I pray that the Hemp oil helps you. It’s so exciting when we we find something, and at this point ANYTHING, that will just bring some relief! How has your breathing been? When my injury in my stomach swells it puts pressure on my diaphragm which causes nausea and a feeling of not being able to get enough air, and it took me a long time (like a year) to figure this out. So I now use Curamed (750mgs of curcumin) and it helps with the swelling really good, but i think it bothers my stomach (my actual stomach). Anyhow, if your breathing is still bothering you maybe you can try the Curamed, its a natural anti inflammatory.

Linda, I had one of those large dark spots in my vision, and I started taking eye vitamins — Lutein and others — and it cleared up.

    • Jason January 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm Reply

Hi Joanne glad to hear you find this helping you so far, some others have also reported it can help with a few things, like pain reduction, Insomnia, Nausea (IIRC could be wrong on this one) Anxiety, PN, and others, and there are many reported benefits in general with CBD/Hemp Oil with some studies to back them up.

However having said that, it has triggered a down-cycle of symptoms in more than one person as well, and it can cause some very unwanted side effects as well in some people, so people have to be a bit careful with which one they buy, go slow with it, etc.

Even though I think there might be some reported benefits to THC itself, I tend to think Floxies would be much better avoiding that part of it, and sticking to Hemp or CBD Oil with high CBD content and very low or no THC content, as THC is a mind altering drug (where as CBD itself is non-psychoactive) which can even cause Anxiety and many other negative effects, and many Floxies have already have had their mind plently “altered” enough. I am also pretty sure most of the reported benefits come from the Cannabinoids themselves. Also of note, CBD is known to potentially cause more “wakefulness” rather than a “sedative” effect, and could potentially not bode well with people with Insomnia (where as THC is a sedative, with big caveats as mentioned). Yet at the same time there are other studies saying CBD can help with Anxiety (so can at least maybe relax certain areas of the brain/body).

Anyway for my part note that Cannabis, Hemp & CBD Oil is not something I have researched in any depth, but I did use a lot of marijuana in my teens and early twenties so have experience with it, which I now regret (using it for the THC to get “high” all the time, ruined my memory and many other things).

Hi Jason, thanks for the reply. About the downcycling, when I was first floxed/poisoned I tried a very small amount (just a drop on the end of my finger) and it made my racey/crazy brain way worse for about 1 1/2 hrs,so I never tried it again. But a couple days ago I was reading on inflammatory bowel disease and it said they had good success with CBD oil reducing the inflammation and helping with remission.I got injured in my stomach 2 weeks after taking Cipro and it never healed. It will get better, but as soon as I lift any amount of weight it swells with ridiculous pain as much as the first day when it happened. Since I’ve been having so much inflammation in my stomach I thought I would give it another try, and right now I’m really glad I did. We’ll have to wait a while to really know. Thanks for all your help 🙂

Just wanted to say, I was looking for something to help the pain and inflammation in my stomach and read about CBD oil helping inflammatory bowel disease and thought I’d give it a try, And it winds up being the Best Ever thing to help something totally different-my crazy/soupy/racey/jittery BRAIN! How crazy is that! But I’m sooo thankful.

This is the second time this has happened to me. At about 15 mos. out I got Shingles and at the same time, a return of the same bacterial infection that started this nightmare. When I took 2 months of antibiotics (Amoxicillin, 2 rounds of Cipro, 2 rounds of Flagyl, ending with an injection of Riceofin(sp.) ) to try and kill it. So I searched natural remedies for the Shingles, which brought me to Olive Leaf Extract. And within three days it took my bacterial infection totally away!!! I really can’t believe that I took all those antibiotics and it took 2 mos. and totally screwed me up when all I needed was OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT! Unbelievable!! P.s. and it also helped stop the spread of the Shingles and reduced the pain GREATLY. Just thought this was interesting and maybe helpful for someone.

Hi Joanne … CBD oil comes from cannabis/marijuana, which includes both hemp and the more intoxicating strains. All of them have remarkable medicinal applications, but it’s a matter of finding the right strain for your condition. Taking oil which contains any form of cannabis will accumulate in your system (which is why a test for it registers positive even long after you have ingested it). It’s likely that you’ve reached a saturation point with the oil you took, which is not bad. It may be that you just need to take a smaller amount now that it is in your system.

CBD is just one of the cannabinoids in marijuana, and each one has specific medicinal effects. CBD is antioxidant, analgesic, antipsychotic, anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic (which is why they have used it to stop epileptic seizures). The federal govt has decided that if the oil has less than 0.1% THC (the cannabinoid that gets you high), it is essentially a hemp oil, which is legal to sell and why CBD oil is available for purchase.

I take cannabis oil daily for pain relief and to stabilize my mood swings, and I have found the right oil to treat my symptoms after much experimentation. But then, isn’t all this treatment for Quinolone toxicity a matter of experimenting, since the allopathic doctors neither acknowledge nor know what to do about it?

I hope you will continue to seek some relief from cannabis, as it treats far more than one symptom and can be truly helpful once you find the right dose and the right balance of cannabinoids. My cannabis doctor told me he has noticed that cannabis not only relieves symptoms but heals as well. Here’s to healing!

Dan, Can you tell me the name of that test and what lab it is?

    • Jason January 18, 2016 at 10:30 pm Reply

Hi Dan. Not sure everything they tested but that doesn’t sound too bad.

Glutamine I went over last page and top of this one, its a very important element for the body and is probably the most important one to heal a Leaky Gut, but it is also a precursor to Glutamate, something Floxed people have trouble with due to Gaba receptor dysfunction/damage from Cipro, and the Glutamate/Gaba balance being off causing Anxiety, Insomnia, Brain Fog and more. So, I can’t recommend it unfortunately, and warn against it for those reasons, if someone “really” wants to try it anyway, I recommend taking Gaba for 2 days first to try and get levels up, and then taking Gaba at the same time as the Glutamine, I only tried this once so far and it did seem to work

As for the others, it all depends on many factors as I told someone recently (or maybe it was you last page not sure), your issues, how bad they are and which are the worst, how many pills you are already taking in general and more, but you have to prioritize.

All those things are “good”, and some are very important and even more so to Floxie, but there are also so many other things that someone can be doing, I was taking around 30 different kinds of pills when I was suffering, it was impossible to fit them all in, I had to rotate them, and I also had to ignore other imbalances and per-existing conditions in the body that were not imperative to healing from a Floxing, that is how I prioritized anyway.

So again you have to go by own Floxie issues, and then combine that with things we know most Floxies should be taking, like Magnesium, Vitamin D, Iron, Iodine, and others like all Anti-Oxidants (other than E, Vit C and Selenium for sure, anasthaxin probably good, Ala with caveat) and more etc but note Iron and Vit D are good ones to get tested for first

Out of that list, without knowing your issues etc, I would probably prioritize it like this: Glutathione (not many ways to get it effectively IV likely best, Whey was one but that is also a source of Glutamate and I still can not tolerate it), Vit E, Ala (only if no Mercury fillings, but even then I hesitate it can bring stored Mercury in body up to Brain, which is why it is recommended later in a Mercury Detox), Coq 10. Then only if you have “space left” in your pill schedule, would I add these in this order: vitamin b12, chromium picolate, l-serine, glutamine with big caveat.

I no longer have the side effect of pain, but for those of you that do, I thought I would post something I read in a magazine. It said for acute pain, try arnica ointment (Dr Sinatra) “Arnica’s thymol helps disperse fluid that builds up around damaged tissues…and relaxes blood vessels and boosts circulation.” I have used it before for swelling and bruising but not pain, so can’t speak to its effectiveness. Then it mentions for chronic pain (maybe more effective for this group)–and is supposed to be especially effective for arthritis like pain—an enzyme blend sold under the name Wobenzym. (which is also supposed to decrease levels of a key inflammatory marker linked to heart disease, as a bonus.) They mention Garden of Life Wobenzyn N–4 caps. Sold at vitmainshoppe for $24 for 100. AGain not familiar with it myself of any of the other enzymes in the formula. But for those of you suffering from pain, might be worth a shot.

    • jwinn January 19, 2016 at 6:56 am Reply

Linda, I have been using Arnica under the name T-Pain Gel on Amazon. It has no scent. It also comes in a ointment also, but I found that the gel absorbs better in my skin. I also used it on my dog(at the recommendation of my vet) when she pulled a muscle in her leg. It helped her tremendously. Not only is it safe for humans, it is safe for animals. I rub down in it every morning before work and every night before going to bed.

    • Jason January 19, 2016 at 1:03 pm Reply

Hi Dan. Get to a “real” Doctor (not a drug pusher who treats symptoms only) ASAP, drugs are not the answer IMO (and 98% of the time never are for anything).

Also, my Magnesium “tested fine”, and I can tell you 110% it was not, not even close, there is no test to verify how much is inside the cells, what is in the blood does not show this at all, nor the Urine, not even a Hair test though that is getting closer. So IMO for Floxies a Mag test is not relevant for the most part, and they are still going to need Mag, and probably LOTS of it (and it takes a long time to get it back into the cells too where it actually stays there). If it was me, I would also still take Selenium, because of its importance and for the same reasoning as well. Vitamin D testing might be more accurate, but I am not totally sure on this.

If you are having nerve pain AKA => PN (peripheral neuropathy) which is characterized by having one or all of: Pins and Needles, Burning, Numbness, others – Then Lipids are important, Magnesium, Lecithin and/or Choline (IV too I think), Serine (Phosphatidylserine IV and/or supplements), other B Vitamins (B12 and one or two others can’t recall especially), and more things I can’t recall at the moment. I have made past posts on PN and what can be done to try and help, its a bastard of a symptom to get under control for many and can last a long time, IV’s are probably the best bet for a “faster” recovery and recovery in general, they are costly of course. I don’t know how far back these posts I made are, and unfortunately I don’t remember everything I posted about them, I’m guessing 6-12 pages back, if you want to find them just use Internet Browsers “search the page” feature and search PN, this should speed up the search a lot.

        • Jason January 19, 2016 at 1:25 pm

That is for Gabetin. I can’t recall the “history” of Floxies and this drug, I think some have tried it for PN don’t remember results (maybe it even helped some can’t recall), you know my opinion on drugs I am sure by now, they are a bandaid at best and don’t “fix” anything and usually makes new issues, damage Liver, etc (though with PN I can understand why someone would still want that bandaid, its unfortunate that with drugs the bandaid is a toxic one every single time).

Here is a list of reported ADR’s (and reasons to take it, of which PN is one)

          http://www.askapatient.com/adverse-events.asp?drug=NEURONTIN

3/5 rating is better than some, and it does seem to work for some people (just quick glance, not sure if works for PN or can also cause it by quick look), but keep in mind very few of those people are liked “Floxed people” who are toxic and don’t process drugs internally the same way anymore, and then look at the ones that are having bad reactions to it (in first link) and read their comments as well and decide if its worth all those risks all added up. I know I would try many many others things first, and not sure I would ever take a drug even if still suffering, but I do know PN pain can be a nasty one.

I sure wouldn’t. Massage, many other things you can do. Likely it IS the pillow especially if a new one, I have experienced this myself and am still recovering from sleeping with a pillow that was the WRONG height/support level for me. Research correct sleeping postures, and get someone to take a picture of you in sleep position and you will likely find your neck is WAY off from where it should be (was in my case and this is VERY common sadly, yet no one tells anyone, more Doctor incompetence, here take these pills….)

Given the very wide range a normal vit d level can fall into a level of 50 – 60 ng/l can in my personal experience result in feeling a whole lot better than a level of 30 ng/l. I have been able to keep my vit d levels much more stable with a vit d analogue that bypasses the first stage of processing in the liver. Probably because my liver does not function optimally these days.

I have not, but would not be in the least surprised. I would personally avoid all prescriptions drugs including the flu vaccine. This is from Natural News. Not all these ingredients are necessarily in any given vaccine, but they could be, and any one alone could effect a bad reaction: Toxic vaccine ingredients and their adverse effects:

        • Bovine cow serum: Extracted from cow skin. When injected causes connective tissue disorders, arthritis and lupus; also shortness of breath, low blood pressure, chest pain and skin reactions.

        • Sorbitol: Synthetic sweetener which metabolizes very slowly and aggravates IBS and gastrointestinal issues.

        • Gelatin: Derived from the collagen inside animals’ skin and bones. Injecting gelatin poses the risk of infection from synthetic growth hormones and BSE infectivity (mad cow disease).

        • Sodium chloride: Raises blood pressure and inhibits muscle contraction and growth.

        • Egg protein: Vaccines are prepared in eggs (certainly not organic). May contain growth hormones, antibiotics, and salmonella bacteria.

        • Thimerosal: A neurotoxic mercury which causes autism: There are 25 mcg in one average flu vaccine, and the EPA safety limit is 5 micrograms, so children who are vaccinated simultaneously with multiple* vaccines receive over 10 times the safety limit of mercury in one day.

        • Human albumin: The protein portion of blood from pooled human venous plasma; when injected causes fever, chills, hives, rash, headache, nausea, breathing difficulty, and rapid heart rate. Injecting “pooled blood” can result in a loss of body cell mass and cause immunodeficiency virus infection, or contain SV40, AIDS, cancer or Hepatitis B from drug addicts.

        • Formaldehyde: Highly carcinogenic fluid used to embalm corpses. Ranked one of the most hazardous compounds to human health; can cause liver damage, gastrointestinal issues, reproductive deformation, respiratory distress and cancer. Plus, formaldehyde has been known to fail to deactivate the virus the vaccine is intended to cure, thus enabling a live virus to enter your blood and infect your system.

        • Phenoxyethanol: A glycol ether/chemical; highly toxic to the nervous system, kidneys, and liver. The FDA warns “can cause shut down of the central nervous system (CNS), vomiting and contact dermatitis” in cosmetics; imagine when injected into your blood.

        • Aluminum phosphate: Greatly increases toxicity of mercury, so caution about minimum mercury tolerance is therefore severely underestimated. CDC scientists and all doctors are well aware of this.

        • MSG (monosodium glutamate): When injected becomes a neurotoxin, causing CNS disorders and brain damage in children.

Update: I had to stop using the CBD oil. It worked great for three days to clear my racy/soupy/dizzy brain, but yesterday it didn’t work and I even got way worse with the soupy vertigo so I stopped it. I’m really discouraged, I was sooo happy because I thought I finally found something that helped so good. I don’t understand why it turned so bad? Maybe it builds up in my system?? I don’t know, but the same thing happened in the beginning of my floxing when I took Valuim to help with the panic and anxiety. It worked great for a while then it turned on me and made my mind race out of control. It’s a total guessing game!

I’m sorry if I gave someone some hope or if you bought some and wasted your money. I know how mentally and financially frustrating that is. It just helped so good for a while that I wanted to tell everyone so they could get some relief too. Oh well, next time I will wait a little longer before posting to make sure.

Joanne –and everyone — another thing I have noticed in my own experimentation is that a specific therapy seems to work for a few days then no longer does. I suspect that it is because of the multiplicity of symptoms that we experience. I think one therapy will work on one symptom for a bit, then another will overtake it and all will seem worse. I have come to using one therapy for a few days then switching to another. When that one no longer seems effective, I may go back to the previous one or try something else. The constant therapies are diet and supplements and of course, adequate sleep and as much gentle exercise as I can do. So don’t give up on something that seemed to work well at first, as it may again. The main thing is to just keep fighting this terrible plague and share your experiences.

Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I have been on because I have been doing so well. It has been 2 years this month and experiencing a BAD flare of pain. Just wanted some reassurance that this is still normal. Can anyone give me some hope? Did anyone experience a big flare up around 24 months?

    • ChristmasCarla January 20, 2016 at 10:44 am Reply

Kdamy … Sorry to hear of your relapse. I had only minor symptoms, most of which I did not associate with quinolones, until a year and a half after being given either Cipro or Levaquin intravenously in the hospital after an accident. Then I suddenly had severe damage to my Achilles’ tendon, infection and acute inflammation in my ankle, and debilitating muscle weakness and pain, which I finally figured out was due to the floxing. This condition has persisted for a year now.

So yes, it can come back unexpectedly and with little warning. Recovering from this poison is my main focus each day, and I intend to keep on top of the treatments that I have found to work. For me, that is diet, daily supplements, herbal teas and capsules, cannabis, adequate rest with my feet up, and a variety of therapies (chiropractic, foot baths, lotions and ointments, yoga and — as I am able to do it — tai chi). I have read on here often that acupuncture helps, and I intend to do that, and light therapy, once I overcome the inflammation in my ankle (and when I can afford it!).

    • Debs January 20, 2016 at 5:19 pm Reply

i still experience flares and i have been in this world for many many years floxed 7 times they can occur at any time after floxing triggered by many things i am still experiencing flares much further out than 2 years from my most damaging floxing. Recovery means different things to different people. in my opinion and experience the largest group of recovered floxies are actually those who are able eventually to reach a place where they feel recovered enough to be able to move on with their lives, not having this consume their every waking moment so they are able to mainly consign this to memory as just another not very nice experience, albeit often dealing with some lingering issues, to varying degrees, these are often related to exercise intolerance, perhaps aches and pains which just were not their before they were hit .

Fluoride is found everywhere today, from antibiotics to drinking water, no stick pans to toothpaste, making exposure inevitable. All the more reason why new research proving this common spice can prevent fluoride damage is so promising!

Fluoride’s neurotoxicity has been the subject of academic debate for decades, and now a matter of increasingly impassioned controversy among the general public, as well. From ‘conspiracy theories’ about it being first used in drinking water in Russian and Nazi concentration camps to chemically lobotomize captives, to its now well-known IQ lowering properties, to its ability to enhance the calcification of the pineal gland – the traditional ‘seat of the soul’ – many around the world, and increasingly in the heavily fluoridated regions of the United States, are starting to organize at the local and statewide level to oust this ubiquitous toxicant from municipal drinking water.

The study was authored by researchers from the Department of Zoology, University College of Science, M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, India, who have spent the past decade investigating the mechanisms through which fluoride induces severe neurodegenerative changes in the mammalian brain, particularly in cells of the hippocampus and cerebral cortex.[i] [ii]

The study opens by describing the historical backdrop for concern about fluoride’s significant and wide ranging toxicity:

This is far from the first study to demonstrate curcumin’s remarkable brain-saving properties. From the perspective of the primary research alone, there are over two hundred peer-reviewed published studies indicating that curcumin is a neuroprotective agent. On our own turmeric database we have 115 articles proving this statement: Turmeric Protects The Brain. We have also featured studies on turmeric’s ability to protect and restore the brain:

I have recently been reading on some RIFE machine frequencies the square wave ones in particular. There are two settings for my machine that are for DNA repair and RNA repair.
So I just started to run them.
I also found a new product that my Natural Doctor introduced me to.
It is called restore4life it is supposed to heal the gut.
    http://restore4life.com/
I am going to try this as well.
I am still in a holding pattern wait for all my tests to get to Cleveland Clinic.
All in all I have had over 200 tests in the last two years since I was Floxed.
Now they have this diagnosis of Adult Autoimmune Enteropathy and Reactive Arthritis along with tendonitis/tendonosis with a tiny bit of neuropathy.
But I am walking much better.
I don’t know what they want to try to do but I hope it is helpful.

    • Rene January 20, 2016 at 2:13 pm Reply

Hey Michael that is great re: the DNA frequencies and others.
I have gained a lot of benefits from using frequencies with my initial CIPRO flox and before that with Lyme disease.

I have also tried RESTORE 4LIFE…..but was unable to use it even with very low dosage of drops. Reason being that the GLUTAMINE I cannot tolerate. Due to my issues with GABBA & GLUTAMATE issues. Even using drops within seconds had me stoned and wonky in alarming way. You might say a glutamate rush…..My cup runneth over…NOT a good thing…..as this is directly linked to my neurological issues, a la Lyme & CIPRO debacle. Many autistic children have a hard time with RESTORE 4LIFE, for the very same reason.

However, for those that can use Restore4Life even with just drops then it can be a blessing.

2ndly, Please do not get married to the labels that are given to you for this n that. The systems that are involved are the main thing. Central Nervous System, Musco Skeletal, and Endocrine. The labels are convenient, but they can seem insurmountably and overly impressive….. when really it is just giving “wording” to what you already know. The concern is not to allow these labels to direct you down a path of “new Drug option” and fraudulent science claiming to be medicine. The testing that one does is to try to see what is happening under the hood…..but there are not the final say in outcome or healing, or what is possible. The body is a very intelligent, pro life being, with systems that are all interdependent. Just like everything else in our lives. The air, water, land, and all the inhabitants. So I encourage you seek, ask, and find all that can aid to assist the restoration and healing of these injuries…..but never give too much weight to the ” labels, and the data” that is presented to you as being the gospel. They are not permanent….even if it takes a heap of time to make one’s way through. Faith in life is Everything. Keep on trucking.

The wonders I have experienced, in spite of all that seemed or looked, or felt to be beyond repair…..have miraculously, and continually repaired. I am better each year. Year (5) last 11th October! I had been in a wheelchair, severe peripheral neuropathy in my leg foot, left side of face, stabbing in my arms, swelling hands, gum loss, teeth nerve pain, unable to stand for more than a few minutes,..muscle wasting, weight loss, & Sjogrens induced by Cipro. – Not the case anymore! So, keep on following that sweet voice and prompts from God that nudge you forward. God loves us, even though the world tells us different.

If you have not had urine tests for your Amino Acids, Minerals, Trace minerals out of the 200 tests you have done than you may be missing a crucial part of addressing the ratios, and balance of key nutrients/biochemicals for Wound healing, Brain function (Central Nervous System) and endocrine system. Doctors Data has tests you can order through Holistic Heal website. Expensive but very valuable information.

Michael Moore is circulating a petition on MoveOn.org to call upon the Michigan attorney general to indict the Governor for his part in this travesty. Rene, I have many of the same symptoms that you have or had. I have severe neuropathy in my feet, left leg, left arm , shoulder and all the way up into my head on the left side. When it gets bad it is extremely debilitating. It had been over 2 1/2 years since I took cipro ( 5 mg a day for 4 days). I couldn’t drive and barley walk for 5 months. Glutathion IV’s and acupuncture helped at first. Eventually my nerves couldn’t stand the acupuncture. I was taking a lot of supplement in the first 5 months. I couldn’t afford to keep them up. I would like to know how you are doing now. It is getting very hard to believe I will ever get better. Did your peripheral neuropathy heal? I would like to know what tests you got and how that information helped you.

So umm question for everyone because I just had a two min long spasm and I swear I can tell before they happen. If I am home alone I have no way to stop them and I have to ride them out. I just had one where I was beating my hand against my chest the more I relaxed the longer it goes it stopped because then both arms were spasming at the same time. But is was scary because I was alone during it and was really scared because I thought relaxing would make it better but it’s not. Is this Parkinson’s I swear I cannot handle that!!

    HI Stephanie
    ,
Do you mean myoclonic jerks ? these are something that can occur with floxing i had them for a while myself, they can be quite scary my arms / legs used to jerk without warning etc at times my whole body i had times when i was sure my body literally used to leave the couch. if this is what it is, they do tend to eventually clear up in my experience but can take some time to do so as per usual with this stuff .

    http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/myoclonus/detail_myoclonus.htm

    • Stephanie January 20, 2016 at 5:06 pm Reply

      Hi Debs,
That’s exactly it only I have been floxed for a year and this started like two months ago. Does this mean I am getting worse? It will happen till I get tired and randomly stops. If someone is with me they can grab my arm and stop it. I have no control in my head I am screaming stop it and it just keeps going. No way to get tested because I cannot afford more bills for tests that will not 100% say what is the cause. I can no longer multitask. So like being on my cell and watching tv will cause them I have to have one stimulus at a time. It’s freaking scary.

  44. Debs January 20, 2016 at 5:27 pm Reply

i thought it sounded familiar. it is scary but if it is myoclonus it is to my knowledge with floxing something that does tend to eventually sort itself out i did not get any tr tests or treat it with any drugs myself but it did eventually disappear it just started happen ing less often and became less severe over time i had this as a very delayed symptom only once in my most damaging floxing it started around 14 months out and was gone i think by 2 year ish out

    • Stephanie January 20, 2016 at 5:38 pm Reply

Omg wow. Well at least it ended. Just need to focus on that its like a house of horrors. Just when one thing jumps out to freak you out another comes in its place. I hate big pharma

  45. Rene January 20, 2016 at 5:44 pm Reply

    Hi Stephanie,
It is not uncommon for new manifestations occur several months or into the 2nd year….and though seems counter intuitive not a worsening necessarily.

You mentioned $$ issues for testing, so if unable to order urine analysis of your minerals, trace minerals and amino acids……than you may wont to consider:

Taurine- 500 mg 2x’s per day.
Thorne Research is an excellent brand found on line on iHerb.

Taurine is often low in people with Seizures, Epilepsy, Tourettes….and minor ticks…..you can say spectrum are all related to these biochemicals,…Taurine being an amino acid.

Also, consider along with Taurine –
5HTP – (which is a precursor to serotonin supplement from Thorne Research as well.

“Both” These supplements and using Magnesium Oil & Fish OIL 3000 IU daily helped me a lot with my neurological issues. Remember you have ” inflammation” and giving the daily nutrient supports to mitigate that ” neurological inflammation” is meaningful. You are in essence “nourishing the soil – the terrain of your cells” – so they can use these much needed nutrient biochemical messengers to converse and heal your injuries.

Yes, it does take time….but again you are nursing yourself back to health. You do not have Parkinsons. You do have a lot of inflammation, and oxidative stress. Address those and in time things will resume to improvement in symptoms and progression in your healing. This is a long road…..on foot. No train, plane, automobile or bike.

The same approach is used for other NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES. Of course only in the NON -Pharmaceutical model of health care….a la Naturopaths and Functional Medicine MDs. From Lyme, Parkinsons, MS, Autism, ADHD, ADD, BI Polar, Depression, Tourettes, and cancer …..All have inflammation, gut issues, and oxidative stress.

    AVOID – Supplementation with CALCIUM.
CALCIUM will exacerbate pain and NERVOUS SYSTEM to over fire.

Calcium is not bad….but it is not in your best interest when your need for Magnesium is greater and additionally be higher than calcium. CALM your nervous system down by using the magnesium oil, and avoiding any food additives in beverages or packaged foods. SUPER important.

Good that you have recovered from all the neurological symptoms. I was floxed in the month of Nov-15. I’m currently experiencing below symptoms:

Loss of sensation/feeling under my right foot
Random Double/blurry Vision in left eye
    Random muscle/joint pain
Pins and needles in both the legs

Can you please share your email Id. Your words will mean a lot to me,

  47. Rene January 21, 2016 at 1:28 pm Reply

    Amith,
I also suffered with your list of symptoms and many more. The sight/vision issues were greatly concerning to me…..and were evident through out the first 3 years, randomly appearing and dissipating. I am in my 5th year as of 11 October last year. The first year is challenging physically and spiritually. I cannot emphasize enough how much the spiritual and mental aspect plays a part in one’s recovery and the quality of life throughout. This is not to criticize anyone for being terrified, depressed, angry, and overwhelmed and bitter.

However, how one frames their condition and what a person believes is everything. I encourage you to use all information or data that you receive from doctors or your own research to be a tool for learning. So often, when medical folk use language or labels that seem so fixed, and hopeless we are quick to take it as the gospel. I knew I was hurt, and injured badly…….but in spite of the mental torment, and physical torment I believed that I could heal. I didn’t bother with looking for a guarantee from the doctor or elsewhere…..but I did have a very strong conviction and faith in the intelligence of the body to prevail at all costs no matter how miserable I felt. I refused to entertain or give court to any notion that my condition was permanent. In Essence I accepted small incremental steps of improvement over vast amounts of time. I saw myself as having been injured, not damaged. The horrific days were full of tears, and pain….but I got through, and saw how the body talks, and cries too as needed….and I managed to smile, and appreciate every moment of peace, and ability, and mobility that was available to me.

WE are all ages, sizes, and weights here. Most everybody around the Globe who has been harmed by these drugs has benefited and NEEDS to get Magnesium “into the Cells”. That means you. Do not underestimate the recommendations here or what others and I suggest.

This drug Chelates or strips magnesium out of the cells…. MAGNESIUM is needed for 700 different processes in the body. The entire muscle skeletal system. That means, Muscles, Tendons, Ligaments, All soft tissue…also needed for the Heart, which is a MUSCLE!

AND The NERVOUS SYSTEM, Blood Sugar Balance, BRAIN – Serotonin…. The list is very very long. You cannot get MAGNESIUM “INTO” the Cells unless you get “MAGNESIUM OIL SPRAY” and apply it to your body. This form of Magnesium is: Magnesium Chloride, which is a very effective way to get magnesium “inside” the cells and rapidly. You can buy it online From “Ancient Minerals” .

Making your own spray is super easy and economical! One part bath flakes to one part filtered water.
It may tingle, or sting when first applied after 5 minutes or so…. that is normal. Just skin sensitivity. This will likely diminish after the first week or so of daily application. Apply anywhere from 8- to 20 sprays to your LIMBS ie. (The length of the limb including wrists and ankles & Hips, lower back sacral area)…these large surface areas are best. The delicate skin of the sides of neck may be sensitive…that is normal.

If it burns to the point that you are in pain then of course by all means rinse off in the shower or just get a warm wash cloth and wipe of the residue. This is easily done. It is NOT an oil…. though the name suggests that it is. It is water, w/ Magnesium Chloride. Wash you hands after so your palms wont get dry. You may wish to wipe off the excess salty residue with a warm washcloth too. Wait 30 minutes or longer for complete absorption before wiping or rinsing off. You do not have to rinse off or wipe it off, but the first couple weeks can be helpful, while the skin is acclimating to absorbing. The residue can be drying at first.

AVOID all over the counter meds, and prescribed meds.
ADVIL, IBUPROFEN, STEROIDS, ARE A BIG NO NO!

    1) ZINC Picolinate – USA everybody is deficient. Wound healing, immune system, and 100’s of enzymatic processes in the body.

    2) Avoid MSG, Natural Flavors, Hydrolyzed or Autolyzed anything! Do Not use artificial sweeteners!! they are very toxic to the brain. Nothing with Glutamate, Glutamic Acid, Glutamine, Glycine. Makes pain worse. No to chewing gum, and fluoride toothpaste.
AVOID: packaged food -with preservatives, & chemicals. The burden on our detoxification pathway has been altered making us very sensitive to the exposure of the junk in manufactured, processed food…If God made it, it’s ok. Man made likely garbage.

    Vitamin D levels.
Crucial! Vitamin (D3) supplementation is profound if your levels are low.
Mine were low. I take 10,000 IU daily from Thorne Research (excellent quality brand) and just one small Vegetarian capsule! Vitamin D3 is a hormone…very profound need by all. The United States is deficient. The minimum to address deficiencies is 2000 -5000 IU…

Vitamin C IV Drips! This will help the cells with anti-oxidants which is needed for such a great burden of Oxidative stress on the body/hence the pain. Cannot be achieved by oral Vitamin C, (1.5 hours or longer for an IV but well worth it, no joke) Your Cells will love it. Naturopath’s who do IV therapies provide this form of therapeutic care.

Consider purchasing from LIFEWAVE on line the ” Y-AGE Glutathione Patch”.
Helped me tremendously, with fatigue, some kinds of pain, brain alertness, and sense of well being! This is non-trans dermal patch worn on meridian points. Nano- technology raises the glutathione levels within the body. The most powerful necessary anti-oxidant and detoxification that the body utilizes to handle the burden of chemicals/ drugs and i our environment. The body will make more of it’s own. Nothing goes into the body. Instructions will come with it where to place it on your leg or foot or abdomen. They ship all over the world. The guy behind it came out of Nassau. Will be worth you purchasing for approx: $80 US dollars for 30 day supply.

If you become a member the price drops. (You do not have to buy monthly) You can rotate patches. Take off at bedtime or may not fall asleep. The fatigue is because of the high Oxidative stress happening. Counter by doing the mentioned above.

    ANXIETY /SLEEP PROBLEMS /
OVERLY SENSITIVE to SOUNDS / Twitching…TIRED & WIRED
    —————————————————————————————–
L-Glutamine is very helpful to rebuild the gut lining… however it is extremely deleterious when supplemented for those with GABA & Glutamate issues. WHICH I do also. Same thing with Whey products … which can really be an issue for those with glutamate issues. Glutamic Acid found in many vitamin formulas can also be problematic. ….. I am one of those individuals. I do have, Gaba / glutamate & folate issues, methylation issues. Because of this possibility for others it is best to proceed conservatively with the bio-chemicals that tend to be with the least potential issues.

    1) L-Theanine…it can help balance some of the anxiety you are experiencing from lack of Gaba…leaving you with too much Glutamate unopposed. Cipro affects the Gaba receptors in the Brain. 200 mg am – 200mg pm not more than that. I use at bedtime as needed. Purchase L- Theanine Brand that only ingredient is L-Theanine and nothing else. Some brands add Calcium. NO supplemental Calcium should be used.

Do NOT take any “supplemental” CALCIUM. This will make things worse regarding Brain Health – for those of us with Anxiety, feeling tired and wired, lack of calm in our thinking and mood. Wired & tired & pain issues. This also applies to autistic children. What we share in common is an issue with balance between Glutamate & Gaba in the Brain. Will WORSEN NERVE PAIN.

ALSO need to AVOID! MSG, Hydrolyzed or Autolysed Yeast, Natural Flavors. And high glutamate foods like BEETS, Legumes, which will “ramp up” the Glutamate in the Brain without Gaba to oppose it and keep things in check/balance.

    2) OMEGA 3 – Fatty Acids. BRAIN – inflammation – “Nordic Naturals” – makes excellent quality brand. Vitamin Shoppe, Amazon, IHERB can buy from on line. Quality matters.
This is also a CNS – Central Nervous System – injury. 3000 mg daily = 2 caps 2x day.
I took a total of 5 per day the first 6 months of injury.

    3) Phosphatidylserine –
Helpful for the cell membrane to keep it fluid, and able to absorb and detox waste/Brain needs this too.

Thank you Rene for the helpful lists of vitamins and minerals we all need to function, I am a big YES to the magnesium, I like using the Epsom salt baths Mag sulfates, it is transdermal so it absorbs, yet it also leeches out toxins. I also use the magnesium oils applied to my skin, being careful as it did burn my sides but not ankles or shoulders. Either way no matter what we try to ingest to heal nothing is going to be absorbed until we deal with the small intestine. Hoping those who have been newly Floxed will be able to force these nutrients through somehow. I read a very insightful explanation as to what happened to us. The Functional Medical University, has given this Disease we are all suffering from a name it is called ” Leaky Gut ” I know doesn’t sound nice but this disease isn’t nice in any way shape or form. The entire article is about how leaky Gut happens and almost anything you want to know about it. Please Google it, look for is Leaky Gut causing me to be sick, I can promise you one thing, you will find answers where they were none before. Keep doing what helps YOU to feel better, wishing all a way back from this awful disease not one of us deserved

        HI Lisa M,
FYI: Magnesium oil is Magnesium Chloride. It has a superior value re: intracellular magnesium via trans-dermal deployment. If it burns upon application, you can dilute it with water.
Yes. Leaky Gut is a factor – as inflammation such as arthritis, and other manifestations such as Parkinson, Diabetes, Cancer,….etc all stem from inflammation from a leaky gut that is allowing harmful substances to circulate in the body. Antibiotics, and ADVIL, Ibuprofen….Antacids all contribute to creating Leaky Gut. Grains also contribute – gliadins, lectins…..

So Yes, good that you have discovered the connection between Gut health…and all other manifestations of chronic health issues. The politics of FOOD and the FDA, BIG Agriculture, Big Pharma, Monsanto, FDA……has impacted all of us on all fronts.

We all are learning so much and thank GOD for it….becuase there is a real awaking happening! My interest started back in the early 90’s and since than the public awareness has really grown…..whilst at the same time the corruption and manipulation of the truth by these corporations has become more desperate.

        God Bless

Is there any test that show you have levaquin toxins in your body

Good News: I’m finally finding strength in my legs again and not constantly fatigued in the knees from standing still! Not if if it’s the glutathione, magnesium, MitoQ, iodine, or what, but something seems to be working. Hoping to continue to progress to back to who I once was.

Bad News: My girlfriend of a year and a half broke up with me a week ago. I don’t think she can handle the person I have “changed” into anymore. As in, not wanting to go out much and not caring about things I used to. I can see where she came from and respected her decision. I hate what cipro has taken from me but I’m not just trying to focus on healing myself and become a stronger person. If she was the one for me, she would have stuck with me through this storm!

      Hi Mark S,
Great news! It is never one thing, it is a myriad of things working comprehensively together. The nutrient supports are all part of the conversation aiding your recovery.

Sorry to hear about your parting relationship. I relate to that but from family. It is baffling but then easy to forgive, when you realize that all of us have our limitations about what we can understand or handle. The same people who have walked away will have situations that they cannot walk away from, or choose not to…..people do the best they can with what they know at the time, and their own maturity and life path. My father who is intelligent man, viewed the whole thing as a exaggerated self indulgent ploy for attention….just could not fathom any of it. Oh well, disappointing and sad yes…I did feel that loss, but the truth is I am the same person and you are too. WE are not always truly seen by others…..and so dismissal, judgements, fear can blur people’s sight…..

The good news, is that there are people who show up, that resonate really well, in a pure wholesome way, no convincing or apologies required. The whole journey is profound in every aspect of our lives. The good news is that things fall away, and our identity and values become crystal clear….and we stand on a foundation that is rooted, and branches out authentically. You will continue to progress forward. It doesn’t always seem, feel, or look like it, but 3 month intervals usually show progress forward. Positive improvements, no matter how small….add up. They did for me and others.

That’s great Mark (well the first part.) I didn’t start to get any relief until I started my IVs which all (except H2O2) included glutathione. And good outlook on the latter part. 🙂

Hi Mark, I am sooo happy that you are improving!!!!!!!! That is wonderful news! I am very sorry about your relationship….I completely understand how you feel. My boyfriend of 3 years did the same thing to me for the same reason. Unfortunately, I AM a different person. I don’t feel like doing the things that I used to…I don’t have the strength or the energy. I am 5 years in, and I don’t know that I will ever be the person I once was. My family and friends act like I am making this all up and should be admitted to a psyche ward. You are right, we BOTH deserve someone who is willing to stick with us through the ‘long haul’. Being floxed is NOT our fault. WE are the victims! I hope and pray that you continue to get better! This website has been the only support I have received, and I am very thankful I found the people here to help me! Hugs!

Jwinn, and everyone else who is not believed by friends and family. Maybe it is better to just let it pass—or if you are so inclined, you could always copy one of the many articles Lisa has under “Resources” or the description of flq disability from the Nov 5 hearing. I especially like the following article because in it Dr Charles Bennett uses the “possible 300,000 deaths” figure. So google this and see if that helps to convince them. ABC10 News San Diego Levaquin: FDA fails to disclose additional serious side effects of antibiotic linked to deaths

        • jwinn January 23, 2016 at 7:43 am

Thanks Linda….I sent a copy of the hearing and the article the Military put out on Cipro causing Gulf War Syndrome to my family and ‘friends’. I only got one response from one friend which said,’ oh, this sounds serious.’ After 5 years of this, that is the only response I received. I did have a friend that carried me to many of my doctor’s appts because I could not drive for over a year when I first got floxed. When I had my relapsed, everyone pretty much left me to my own defenses and thought I was just having nervous breakdown. I found this website, and finally convinced myself that I was not the one who was crazy! Thank you all so much for your support and the wonderful information that I receive here. You help to remind me each day that I am not crazy, even when the world around me thinks I am!

        • Carla January 23, 2016 at 10:09 am

Hi jwinn … I have been posting lots of information about Floxing on my Facebook page, and on a FB page I manage called “ChristmasCarla’s DIY Healing Information”. I seem to have reached a fair number of my friends with this. I don’t really care if they know how it has affected me … they have only to look at my foot to know something has happened to me! What I want to do is warn everyone not to take these antibiotics and to tell their doctors to research it and not to prescribe them. I have also contacted my doctor by email and sent her information. I hope all of us will spread the knowledge we are accumulating so we can end this plague.

        • jwinn January 23, 2016 at 1:11 pm

Carla, that is wonderful! I am glad you are getting some support from your friends and family. In addition to me sending them the medical factual reports and information about being poisoned, My friends and family SAW my swollen legs and feet; my purple/black feet; the horrible Petechiae on my legs, arms, and shoulders; blisters that covered my feet, fingers, ears and nose; the fact that I couldn’t walk’ the fact that I couldn’t breathe; my hair falling out by the hand fulls’ my fingernails and toenails were falling off; my drastic weight loss; going from extreme burning in my hands and feet to them freezing even at 100 degree temps; my anxiety going through the roof because I was SCARED I WAS GOING TO DIE……..they were concerned in the beginning, but it didn’t take long before I became a BURDEN to them. I was no longer my happy-go-lucky, fun loving, positive, healthy, out-going, hard working self. No one wanted to be around me. One of my life-long friends even told me that she had to take a break from me because I was ‘dragging her down’ because I was not my happy person anymore. One by one….they just gradually went away. My anxiety was out of control and I wanted answers, but didn’t have the energy to drive to the NUMEROUS specialist I was sent to…every time a doctor would tell me he/she couldn’t find anything wrong with me, I got labeled as a hypochondriact and the ‘person who cried wolf’ just to get attention. I was told by several that they thought I should be admitted to the psyche ward at the hospital, because they thought I was having a nervous breakdown. When I had my relapse last year, it got even worse…the people I work with started to segregate themselves from me. My family now texts me ever couple of weeks to check to see if I am alive, but that is about it. Thank God, He has given me the strength to drive again and make it to work. It wears me out, and I am in severe pain when I get home so all I do is crawl in bed, but it’s better than not being able to walk at all. And I thank God for my dog! She has never left my side! I’m still not happy….I don’t know if I will ever be happy again. I feel like I have aged 10 years in the past 5, and it shows in my physical appearance. I feel like I have lost my ability to laugh or cry…I am more ‘numb’. I have old friends that I haven’t seen in a few years that want to come to visit me, but I don’t want them to see me like this. The friends I have now are few…I have 2 sisters who are 78 and 80 years old and live quite a distance from me ( I was a ‘late’ baby for my parents! I am only 55 now and was in the best physical health of my life when this stuff happened to me. I was excited about turning 50 an only looking 35, but I got sick 4 months before my 50th birthday). My sisters would help me if they could. They’re all the family I have left. The friends I do have are probably still around, because they have their own health problems, and understand a bit more what it is like to have an illness. For those that have never been through this horror, they don’t get it, and I’m not sure they ever will. I pray they will one day. More and more people are suffering from this poisoning, and it should NEVER be happening!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for letting me rant….I’m snowed in and needed to vent! We have 8 inches of snow and ice and not supposed to stop before tomorrow morning…looking at 20 inches…..which hasn’t helped my anxiety levels. We are not used to this extreme amount of snow! So far, we still have power! Thank the Lord! Hoping it stays that way!

        • Linda January 23, 2016 at 6:05 pm

Just curious if you are still having the breathing problems. (And like you, I looked 10 or 15 years younger than I was, but this has aged me so much in just one year.)

        • jwinn January 23, 2016 at 7:21 pm

Linda, to be quite honest, I just now stopped having breathing problems after 5 years. I’ve been adding supplements as recommended on this site ( I take a boat load of stuff…. at least 20-25 different things a day), and ‘something’ has helped my breathing issues….just not sure what. I didn’t take anything that was supposed to help specifically with breathing issues. But I suffered with breathing problems for 5 years. If I ever even went to the grocery store (which I still rarely do because I don’t have the energy for one, and it causes me anxiety for the other), I would have to lean on my grocery cart to walk up and down the isle because I was so weak and it was if I was gasping for air….people could hear me breathing so loudly and would often stop me to see if I had asthma or was having a heart attack. I still can’t do any exercising or strenuous work activity, but It has gotten better in the past 6 months. I can, however, walk without gasping for air or being heard everywhere. I hope and pray your breathing gets better too!

        • Linda January 23, 2016 at 11:36 am

You are SO not crazy! Yeah, it sucks to not be believed. I am looking pretty much like my old self these days so people assume I am OK. They can’t see the weird “catch” that happens when I try to breathe…or the fact that everything looks like it is covered by gauze by my right eye…or the fact I still have major gastrointestinal issues or disabling anxiety. I look “normal” (albeit older than just one year ago when this all hit me.) But we know the truth and in the end that is all that matters. And I am still sending out letters. Even contacted a high-powered, world renown attorney who handles human rights issues and actually got a reply. Don’t know if anything will happen with it and don’t want to jinx it so I won’t say who it is, but at some point the sh@t is going to hit the fan with these drug companies. Don’t know if you saw, but one attorney is charging not only J & J but ALSO a former FDA commissioner with racketeering charges for mislabeling the levaquin for financial gain. I sure hope his case goes well. It could be the thing that finally gets some national attention on this hideous poisoning for greed.

        • jwinn January 23, 2016 at 1:15 pm

Thanks, Linda. No, I had not heard about the new suit. Please keep us posted. Thank you for your encouragement…..you’re right, it sucks to not be believed especially by the people who are supposed to love and care for you. The support I receive here is wonderful! Thank you again!

        • Stephanie January 23, 2016 at 2:05 pm

I am to the point where its not about being believed. People just don’t get it and as my boyfriend says our society doesn’t support the type of thinking that medication is dangerous. Look at the world around us there are people who are famous for leaking porn videos of themselves and for being rich. People just want to escape, which is why the FDA is allowed to be corrupt in our society. They have been quietly It’s why I write letters to get help because until we the people who have been victims of the evil FDA and pharmaceutical companies no one else is going to. These companies make money off the hope that we will stay quite and go away. I have days where I want to give up where I am pissed off that like four of my friends actually get how sick I am. I am going through a shitty period right now where I am depressed for a while and then I bounce back and then I am sad it’s non stop. A lot of it is because this is really freaking hard to go through. It sounds shitty but at least when you say cancer the world wants to hug you and help you get better. When you say I’ve been poisoned by a huge corporation people say yeah right you want attention and can’t be that sick. Or just think you are over reacting. It sucks it just blows. I fight all the time to stay positive all I can say is stay strong tell the people who don’t believe you to wake up and see that these so called institutions that have been created to “help” us don’t.

        • jwinn January 23, 2016 at 2:50 pm

You’re absolutely right, Stephanie!. If I were to tell people I had cancer, I would get all kinds of support from my so-called friends and family. Telling them that I have been poisoned by a drug that they have never had a reaction to, makes them treat me like I have a mental problem, in spite of warnings, articles, and lawsuits. They pretty much ignore me and think I have become obsessed with trying to find something to help fix a medical problem(s) that they don’t seem to think I have. It’s so frustrating. My numerous doctors treated me the same way, even though they could see the evidence right in front of them! It’s no wonder we go from being positive one day, to anxious and depressed the next.

        • Linda January 23, 2016 at 3:50 pm

Yes yes yes! To everything you said! When all this finally comes out…and it will….a lot ofpeopleare gonna feel really bad. I can’t wait until my twelve doubting doctors have to eat thei dismissive words.

Fluoroquinolone-induced serious, persistent, multisymptom adverse effects.

    Author information
    Abstract
We present a case series of four previously healthy, employed adults without significant prior medical history in each of whom symptoms developed while on fluoroquinolones (FQs), with progression that continued following discontinuation evolving to a severe, disabling multisymptom profile variably involving tendinopathy, muscle weakness, peripheral neuropathy, autonomic dysfunction, sleep disorder, cognitive dysfunction and psychiatric disturbance. Physicians and patients should be alert to the potential for FQ-induced severe disabling multisymptom pathology that may persist and progress following FQ use. Known induction by FQs of delayed mitochondrial toxicity provides a compatible mechanism, with symptom profiles (and documented mechanisms of FQ toxicity) compatible with the hypothesis of an exposure-induced mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalomyopathy.

I just hate that they say four people. Makes it sound rare which it is not.
