Hi Debs
I just wanted to say that I agree wholeheartedly with every word that you have written.
I have been so stressed out over the weekend because my son e mailed to say he had been given a fluroqinolone .
I have begged him not to take any more.
I think that the message has got through to him NOW.
Look what the rubbish has done to me and to others.
I have had several hospital admissions too Debs.
I had dry eyes etc. I had a severe headache from December to end of May 2014. I have had a red eye, floaters, posterior vitreous detachment. Every word you have written bout the side effects of these so called chemo drugs being PUSHED as antibiotics is unfortunately very , very true. EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY WORD.
I refuse antibiotics now full stop. I dare not take any for they are all unsafe especially the fluoroquinolones.
These drugs cause hypersensitive and allergic reactions so I dare not take ANY.
Moreover when I go into hospital or a and E have to have a red alert bracelet on my wrist. I am also considering buying a medi alert bracelet or necklace with a list of medications that I am allergic/hypersensitive to.
There is an overwhelming amount of evidence about antibiotic toxicity as well as fluoroquinolone toxicity.
Lucy.

Ok i have just had a major set back/relapse after trying a CBD oil pill that must have had lots of THC in it. I went off the deep end and 3 days later I am still there. I was doing so well. I haven’t had anxiety or insomnia for 3 months until 3 night ago. I was floxed 7 months ago and now I am back to the beginning – I can’t believe it. Anxiety is debilitating again and my skin is burning. Somebody just lie to me and tell this will go away and I’m not really back at the beginning – I can’t go back there for that long again! Thanks guys, I am freaking out and scared. Why was there Cipro in a cannabis pill? Cause I’m pretty sure there was.
Has anyone else developed osteo arthritis post flox??? I went in for an xray last week and they found very minor arthritis on my c4 vertebrae, I’m only ,35,!!!! Of course I blame this entirely on levaquin, and if that’s the case I now just upgraded myself to the “severe” category in the flox report ;(

Hi Tricia I have difficulty editing posts sometimes and they go without being edited.
Anyway Tricia re the O/A . I think that cipro caused this in my left knee.
I think that these drugs can cause a lot of damage and things to go wrong in the body.
I am constantly thinking about this condition that is being floxed. It will be coming up to two years this December.
I have to learn to accept that but it is very hard. I need this forum to help me thru this ordeal.
I would like to sue these people but most of all I would like too get better. Lucy

I’m posting this again b/c I’m not sure if anyone saw it. Has anyone ever used or be prescribed voltaren gel? I am 11 months out from taking levaquin of having pain, loss of muscle strength. My strength is pretty much back, and most of my pain is gone (arms/upper legs), but i still have pain in my ankles. I have been prescribed this by 2 MDs (rhemotologist and orthopedics). I know ibprofen and NSAIDs are not good for us (wish i knew that when i first started having symptoms as i think it made my condiiton worse), but didn’t know if anyone had any knowledge of the topical voltaren gel. Thanks a bunch

Peter, I also was floxed 2 and a half years ago and hoped to be healed long before now and am not. In fact I am in the midst of a major relapse now. Not sure what set it off. I also live in Ohio just south of Cleveland. You can get IV’s in Medina Ohio at Balance of Life Clinic. After you see the doctor once you can schedule the IV’s anytime you want. The glutathion helped me initially. They also have nutritional and hydrogen peroxide. Recently I have felt like I can’t take anymore pain but I still hold out that I will recover. I am considering going to Michigan to Dr. Wycoff. He does ultraviolet blood irradiation that helped my wife immensely. She was not floxed but she was bedridden. I got acupuncture in Berea Ohio that helped alot for awhile. Try to believe you will heal.

Well….the dentist said what I’ve typically heard since I got sick, it’s normal. I’m not sure what’s going on with my saliva and dry mouth, but chalk it up to another miserable levaquin symptom that I’ll suffer through for life.

I was reading through some comments I missed and I think it’s great we can all be here to support each other and reassure each other that our symptoms are legit and certainly only normal after the medicine (not becauset a doctor says so).
I just wish we all didn’t have to go through such an awful experience with only other floxies for support. I wish the world would listen, but they never unless some ultra important, rich people get in our shoes and use their influence to start change.

Everyone gets better. It may take years with intermittent setbacks, but everyone improves. After 3 years and 10 months, my life is almost back to normal. And, I would consider my case severe. I have/had every horrible side effect one can think of. Since floxed, I became a pilot :-0). It gets better and better. Don’t freak out with the setbacks in the middle.

I was shocked today when I read some of the posts on here? WTH is going on? This is not a personal arena for arguing, it’s a help site. I think some people need to be blocked so it can go back to being the helpful place it always was, not a bickering site. Good Lord.

This is for Peter..I’m so sorry for your suffering. I have a suggestion, you should try organic virgin coconut oil, about 1 tablespoon. You put it in your mouth, it will melt right away. Swish it around for at least 15-20 mins, then spit it out, not down the sink though. The healing properties of the oil have been proven to help with all sorts of mouth issues, including making your teeth whiter. Please look this up online to verify, but I can tell you, it really helped me. I would do it before bed in your case. Hope this helps, best wishes.

I am a little bit worried about coconut oil raising cholesterol levels.
Does anyone know what the best way to cope with the burning sensation in the legs is please?
Is ice or heat best?
I am afraid to try anything as I am scared of increasing the burning.

Hi Peter, is your coconut oil organic/virgin? Because if it’s the refined version, it doesn’t have the same healing effects. In your case maybe doing it a few times a day would be best. It kills bacteria and fungus too, so they say. I used it after I had dental surgery to remove 3 teeth. I couldn’t believe the speed in which I healed. Please read online and make up your own mind. My dog even gets it. Helps with memory too, if you eat it every day. It’s really a miracle food. I just bet it will help you alot. Good luck!!

Ok so I’m here to post again after a long time. Was hoping this stuff would dissipate but am still dealing. To catch you up I had a broken wrist from college sports, and was scheduled to have surgery and got a bout of diverticulitis. The Cipro was given and hell ensued. No doctor would touch me after all ligs and tendons swelled to the size of melons. As an athlete I suffered numerous broken bones and the Cipro found 75% of them to the point of not being able to walk. I had to wait about a year maybe a little less to get my broken wrist fixed, they couldn’t do it regular style they took the 4 broken bones out?! I had the choice to get a fusion but docs said with this cipro thing you might be a onion hand forever if it doesn’t take! I chose the lesser and had bones removed and will never have the full use of my hand again. Now on to the still crazy stuff that happens since cipro…once a month cant put feet on the floor, second have firework like displays on my legs in the form of scabs that happen in hours.Crazy healed little bitty dots. no scratching at all, !!! These are the tip of the iceberg! The mental side is bananas. Since wrist surgery about two weeks I am so swelled up. I am a do it yourself guy and am hoping that I get lucky with this and it leaves my body one day! Thanks for letting me vent. If I can help anybody on this I don’t check this site but would answer any questions clayparker1@comcast.net. I have told some friends about the site and skeptical they are! Don’t hesitate to reach out!

Cipropoisoned, what did you do to heal? I am 3 years and 11 months after Cipro and I’m not much better at all. Some things have gotten slightly better but some things have gotten worse. My joints are still wrecked to the point I can’t exercise which drives me insane. I’ve tried so many things but no real improvement.
