Wow!! I didn’t know this site existed or there was help after cuprous poisoning. No one has offered that info… Just put in my chart that I’m allergic to cuprous. I’m laying here tonight with my ankle in an air cast that I now have to use periodically because the tendons in my left ankle were damaged the worst. Knees now slip out as well as shoulders. VERY painful along with fibro and crps for 12 years.

I had been floxed after 3 500 mg pills of Cipro. I am now at week 3 and getting worse. I FINALLY figured out the cause and from what I’ve read in other’s comments, the cause for you too and it’s HIGH OXALATES in the body. You have to go gradually on to a LOW OXALATE DIET.
I was just hoping to find someone else who has realized it’s oxalates and maybe how they’ve gone about a cure. I’m slowly working my way into what I think is appropriate treatment, but they say if you go too fast you can really mess yourself up. So I’m still suffering with SO MANY of the same symptoms others list here.
This is absolute HELL.. but I’m very hopeful that this new information will make all the difference.
If anyone wants to talk I’d be more than happy to go through this healing journey WITH others so we can help each other with information and experiential learning.
Godspeed to us all in our healing process.

Hi, My name is Regina and I was floxed by Levaquin six years ago. I had to have Emergency Surgery for an appendicitis, I was not given the choice they just gave me it!!! I should have known something was not right when I was in the hospital recovering. I told them things I was experiencing but they just blew me off. I did not realize it until I was released and stopped to get a prescription of Levaquin (POISON) that I had every side effect listed! Needless to say I ended up back in the ER the next day! They thought I was flipping Crazy….oh no its not the drug. I have on Doctor who told me I had been floxed and anymore i’m not so sure he believes me. But I found this site and am thankful! I think it should be beneficial to me to talk to other people in the same situation. Fed up in Kansas City.

And as far as being better…I was pretty bad for two and a half years then it seemed to ease up a lot but for about two months if has came back with avengeance!!! not sure why. It even seems worse. And Lisa I will be listening to Tara’s podcast.

Has anyone after being floxed been prescribed mobic for pain? Does anyone know if it is safe to take?

Mobic is an NSAID they tend not to very good for us on the whole. I actually suffered my worst floxing with a FQ prescribed concurrently with an NSAID . many of us do react negatively to them after floxing, although some do use them & are OK, as per usual we are all different. NSAIDS have their own potential problems of course. When it comes to any allopathic drug INFORMED CONSENT is of course everything . personally would not touch any of the NSAIDS with a bargepole now.
There is actually NO such thing as a safe allopathic drug, just drugs with toxic profiles, some are simply more toxic than others carry more serious toxic profiles & as a result generally tend to come along with potentially more risk of causing Iatrogenic injury.
Well I went to Alan Jackson concert last night, ate nice meal of grilled orange roughy, rice and broccoli and had 3-4 beers. It been about 8 months since Levaquin so I was a little nervous about a flare up. Lived to tell about it. Had a really good time feeling somewhat normal again.

I want to thank everyone here for all the positive stories and for sharing things that you’ve discovered beneficial in your recovery. It really helps the newer folks like myself.
Since you’ve all been so helpful to me, I thought I’d share information on an antioxidant product (BioAstin) that some may find beneficial. I previously searched all over Floxie Hope for information on BioAstin in case someone had already posted data on it, but I could not find any, so I decided to share some information below. Unfortunately I can’t take this due to seafood/shellfish allergies, but it could be beneficial for others.
“BioAstin® Hawaiian Astaxanthin® from Nutrex Hawaii – the Nation’s #1 brand of Astaxanthin†
As a powerful antioxidant, BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin has been documented to show a wide range of benefits in human clinical studies on several health concerns including joint and skin health.* Due to its molecular structure, astaxanthin is one of the few antioxidants that can move throughout the entire body and provide protection to all of our cells. Astaxanthin has the unique property of protecting the entire cell because of the polar hydrophilic ends that span across the entire cell membrane. Most other well-known antioxidants cannot do this. Our astaxanthin comes from fresh water algae grown on our farm in Kona, Hawaii.
Benefits of BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin:
• Supports joint and tendon health*
• Supports skin during UV and sun exposure*
• Supports eye and brain health*
• Improves recovery from exercise*
BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin provides more protection from the damaging effects of free radicals or oxidative stress, helping your body to better prevent future oxidative damage.
Hawaiian Astaxanthin Features:
550 times stronger as an antioxidant than Vitamin E and 11 times stronger than beta carotene.
800 times stronger as an antioxidant than CoQ10
6000 times stronger as an antioxidant than Vitamin C
Free of yeast, corn, wheat, gluten, and lactose
Non-GMO, BSE Free, Gluten Free
Additional Astaxanthin Information:
BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin products contain all natural functional nutrients that are clinically proven to enhance human health.
Guaranteed stable astaxanthin content over time.
Natural astaxanthin has no known side effects or contraindications.
What is Astaxanthin and where does it come from?
Astaxanthin is a carotenoid, which are pigment colors in nature. Astaxanthin is the red pigment color found in salmon, shrimp, crab and even the pink color in flamingos. BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin is derived from microalgae called Haematococcus pluvialis. It is grown on land in controlled, fresh water ponds and contains no fish or shellfish bi-products.
How does Astaxanthin work?
BioAstin Hawaiian Astaxanthin works throughout the entire body- our eyes, brain, cardiovascular system, muscles, and skin. It supports a healthy oxidative balance which leads to improvements in many health conditions.*
MD Formulas™ Hawaii
MD Formulas™ Hawaii is a line of high quality nutritional supplements formulated by a team of medical doctors and nutritional experts. How much Astaxanthin should I take?*
Ideal recommended dosages can vary by condition. For most health concerns, the recommended dosages are between 4mg-12mg per day of astaxanthin.”
Back to me (Ryan). I came across this product at a local health food store, but it can be purchased online though their website. You can also find it on Amazon.
Finally, this is the extent of my knowledge on this product, so please refer to the manufacturer if you have any questions.
P.S., please don’t ask about my symptoms or how long I’ve been struggling. It’s a unique experience for everyone, and no one wants to be in the club. I’m thankful for a loving and faithful God who walks me through each day, the support of friends and family, and for all the wonderful people on this site who’ve already spent countless hours searching for a cure. If you’re new to this toxicity (Like me), read the recovery stories on this website, as those people have lived with and understand this experience much better than I.

My acupuncturist put me on a product called “NT Factor Energy Mitochondrial Formula” I’m currently almost done with my first month of the suggested three month loading phase but don’t notice a difference. Does anyone have any experience with this product? My hope is that it will help aid in the repair some of my damaged DNA but who knows.

Hi folks! I think I have found a protocol of treatment that is really helping with my “Floxie Foot” (CRPS, or “CRaPS” on my foot and ankle). I had a bad flare a week ago and could not walk for a couple of days, but two days of this honey treatment had it more functional, and now, after five days, it continues to improve in condition.
Let me spell it out for you and if anyone tries it, please report back your results. I will put in the brands of the products I’m using with an *.
When my nasty crusty incredibly sore foot is clean, like after a shower or an Epsom salt bath, I pat it dry and apply some 99%+ pure aloe vera gel (*natur-sense aloe vera gel) to soothe the skin; let it air dry.
When dry, I lave it with Colloidal Silver (*TheraSilver Amber) by gently applying the liquid with a cotton pad until the foot is wet with it.
Then I take about a Tablespoonful of Manuka Honey (*Manuka Doctor 24+ Bio Active Manuka Honey) and spread it on all the irritated parts of my foot, leaving a coat of honey. I cover this with an unfolded 4″ gauze pad (any drug store has these) and put on a loose diabetic sock (diabetic crew socks from *Midwest Deep Discounts on Amazon … they are really comfortable!) to hold it in place.
I leave it like this for 8-12 hours, until it starts to sting uncomfortably (I think this is because of the toxins it is pulling out; sometimes it seeps through the sock.). I carefully remove the sock and gauze, and it seems to be happy to be out in the air for a while.
After it has air-dried a while, I either shower and wash it carefully with a baby washcloth and Colloidal Silver Soap (the brand I got is no longer available on Amazon), or I soak it in an Epsom salt foot bath, and start all over again.
Manuka Honey is available at my local Trader Joe’s, but it is only rated 10+, whatever that is — 10 Manukas? I like the 24+ better, but if you can get the 10+ right away, it’s worth a try. Let us know if it works for you too!

Hi all!
I’m a 19-year female, currently in my first year of college. Last Monday, I woke up with horrible abdominal pain — that night, I went to the hospital and they thought I had appendicitis. My scans came back fine, though, and they kept me for observation for a day before discharging me and treating me for the stomach flu.
The doctor prescribed me three things, one of which was Cipro. I quit taking it after the second or third pill — I was feeling horrible, and ended up googling “f*** cipro,” only to find forums full of complaints about this poison.
I guess my post here is really me just reaching out for some peace of mind. Again, I’m in my first year of college — fortunately, I’m on my spring break and recovering from the flu at home, but I’m afraid that by taking those few pills of Cipro, I’ve screwed myself over for the rest of my life. How do I not live in fear for the next six months, next year, that suddenly some crippling symptoms could turn up when I’m away from home and on my own? I’m relatively active, and workout 2-3 times a week, plus my campus is quite big and I have to walk several miles a day to get to-and-from class.
I’ve been stressing myself out for the last two or three days worrying if any tingling sensation is from the medication, and I don’t know if any pain I’m feeling is real or being brought on by my worrying. Any advice would be appreciated. My thoughts are with all of you! x
(I’m also seeing my regular doctor tomorrow for a follow-up that was scheduled by the hospital, and I’m going to bring up my concerns to her.)
