Hi guys, anyone with severe tinnitus? It’ s been 5 months since i’ve took cipro, the tinnitus started 2 or 3 weeks after i took it. I don’t have hearing loss, thyroid levels are regular, the tinnitus gets worse and better time to time, but the last 48 hours has been very hard. The highest i’ve yet to experience. From all the symptons i’ve been trough, this constant ringing in my ears is the most life changing. Does anyone have it at a such high level? Anything to make it get better? I’m having a really hard time accepting this alien sound in my head, it’s really bringing me down.

Light and Victor F.,
I had both these symptoms when I was first floxed 2 years ago. Nothing I tried helped very much.
They eventually went away at about 17 months.

Hello,
this is a first post for me. I was floxed in 2010 and again in 2015. I have also had a myriad of symptoms and am continuing to fight through them. The biggest remaining symptoms are exhaustion, lack of stamina, neck/shoulder pain, swollen eyes and large itchy sores on scalp and lower back. I believe that the sores are the toxicity trying to leave my body but would appreciate any thoughts on this (or if you have any experiences with this).
I’ve read through many of the posts on here and am so very thankful that we have this community to share our experiences and offer help to each other!
I wanted to share news that may also bring some hope (justice) to you all. I read recently that the former FDA Commissioner is being brought up on charges of conspiracy, racketeering and colluding in regards to this antibiotic. I haven’t seen that this has been posted on here so I’m hopeful that this brings just a little justice for those that have suffered.
Normally, this would embarrass me to ask, but I’m desperate. I’m constipated and today had my first BM in five days. I’ve been drinking water only and eating very little bit. I have not taken anything for it, because my ANS is just now settling down after a bad virus I had 4 weeks ago. My nervous system takes a while to reach normal again. I’ve never used an enema or suppository. My body is extra sensitive to a lot of herbs or supplements. I haven’t tried prunes b/c the sugar content is too high. My body doesn’t handle sugar at all. Have not had constipation like this before, even when floxed. Any advice would be appreciated!
Sos! I contracted strep throat from my 6 year old (bless her). This all came on so suddenly today, I felt almost 100% normal yesterday. I’m achy, high fever, can barely swallow anything, and exhausted. Does anyone know or have taken any non nsaid? I need to bring my fever down but afraid to take any meds. I’ve been taking oil of oregano and eating crushed garlic (gag!) Any advice will be helpful! Thanks all

Hi Everyone,
I just thought this was interesting.
I’ve been feeling so good I’ve been trying to catch up on some cleaning that I wasn’t able to do, like cleaning the garage and the basement, I scrubbed all my carpets, washed the windows, the couch pillows and my curtains ect. Well all the lifting and moving around has flared my neck up and it started to swell and caused a lot of my flox symptoms to come back
For example, my brain issues; the racing, the fog, the not being able to follow a conversation good, also my eyes get pressure and the focus gets blurrier, the tinitus and pressure in my ears, and my joints get more pain.even my stomach issues get worse.
I really think this is very interesting, because throughout this whole ordeal I could never tie all these strange random, body-wide symptoms to one thing or to ANYTHING for that matter EXCEPT for chemicals either in foods or pharms.
Anyhow, as I ice and take curcumin/curamed to bring down the swelling all my symptoms start to go away. This could possibly explain why a lot of floxies have said steroids and things for inflammation helped them. BUT I’m still deathly afraid of them!
This really makes me think A LOT of this is directly related to the thyroid (and parathyroid , in my case).I know there are a lot of other floxies who believe this as well, and I’m definitely seeing that it is true. I just wish we could pin down exactly what is wrong in the thyroid, so we could maybe help relieve, if not cure, a lot of this suffering
I just was excited to finally see a connection of the symptoms to a specific thing/reason
Of course, I don’t know, I’m just starting to see SOMETHING that seems to be a connection.to all the crazy symptoms we experience.
I just wanted to share my thoughts and what I’ve been experiencing as I heal from this surgery.
Joanneg
If someone does have a thyroid issue, what is the healing protocol besides surgery? What supplement would fix a thyroid imbalance, or high calcium for that matter?
Glad your so much better:)
Joanneg, or anyone else who knows about calcium levels. Mine was at a 9.5 a couple months ago, I just saw the results today though.
Is that normal or considered too high ??
Thanks,
Tricia

Hey guys, I am asking for someone else who is not on this site. For those of you who had the burning, especially in the head and also severe muscle pain, and are doing much better now—what things helped the most? Thanks
Does MitoQ work for people who cannot tolerate Ubiquinol or CoQ10 orally? I suffer severe depression and heart palpitations when I try these supplements and was wondering if MitoQ is without the side effects that come with other forms of CoQ10.

Hi Linda, I am so sorry for your friend. I wish I could be of more help. I have bad muscle pain and severe burning in my legs, feet and hands. I’ve tried every supplement suggested on this site, and continue taking them. However, I cannot say that I have found one that has helped this for me. If I do, I will shout it from the roof top for everyone to hear, because it is a horrible way to have to live each day. Going to try Taurine now. Sending hugs and prayers to you and your friend.

Just to play devils advocate here….you named off all these other infections that fluoroquiinolones have been so haphazardly been prescribed for without any details about the particular persons background. Are they allergic to all other antibiotics, I am, fluoroquiinolones are the only class of antibiotics I can take. What about the people who have had a culture and sensitivity test done and this was the only one that the bacteria wasn’t resistant to….yes, there are risks, there’s risks getting in your own shower, where you could slip and fall and break bone or even your neck if you landed just right. There are risks crossing the road EVEN when you have the light. There are risks to drive an automobile or fly in a plane.
I know 2 people who tore their Achilles’ tendon after a round of cipro but the degree of their sickness far outweighed the risks from cipro because it was certain death without treatment and only a risk of it with cipro.
You can’t throw out the baby with the bath water….

Does anyone have a lot of body twitching and is there anything to help with it.
Well I came down w strep since tuesday, came down w a fever, it went away yesterday but now it’s back again:(
On way to doctor to see if I can get amoxicillin 🙁
Hi Tricia,
I don’t know what you decided to do about your strep, but my kids and I get it at lest once a year, since I got floxed we would gargle with peroxide mixed with water a couple times a day, like morning, after noon, and before bed, and that works good for us.

I would like to comment to Hap, if achilles tendon rupture was the only story here we would all probably be happy! This is nothing like a sports injury! I have lived 65 years and have not been free of illness but this is nothing like anything I have ever known!!! It also can change from day to day. I have never had the big C but can say I have had a lot of other problems to live with & this is the worst hell I could imagine & these drugs are the devil.
May just be having a hard day but at the moment I might rather die than go through this!
You really just can not understand unless you have been here!

So very true, Linda! I have been working hard with a NP and doing all the supplements and praying a lot. Did feel like I was getting some good days but really fell down the rabbit hole last week. I am only 3 months out but I am all of a sudden worse than the beginning! I was doing pretty good with the mental part but now I have fallen apart. I did understand the good & bad days going through this but never dreamed I would fall so far back. My breathing is all of a sudden a problem I did not have & my cardioligist wants me in on Tuesday. The only thing I have changed in the time this has happened is I went on the mag. L threonate that my NP and I thought was a great choice from the one I was on. If anyone out there has had a problem with this Mag. let me hear from you!

Hey you guys! This is Josie. Just a little background on me. I was floxed in May of 2014. Ciprofloxacin.
I’m now 20 years old I have a little girl named Charlotte. She’s 6 months old.
The side effects that have lingered from Cipro that I still have today are Visual Snow (Constant Static in my vision), Dizziness (24/7), Tinnitus and TERRIBLE fatigue. Now I know being a mom can be tough, but I’m averaging around 7-9 hours asleep a night. And still want to nap more… Which isn’t good if you’ve got a house to clean and a child to tend too lol. Now my diet isn’t terrible, I’m not organic. But I don’t really eat bread, everything I eat that cold be on bread is on lettuce instead.
But does anyone, ANYONE have any suggestions that could help with my fatigue? As a mother I want to be able to be the best I can be ????
