Now you’re asking Ahmdi lol ! .In a nutshell I have been floxed 7 times in all, prescribed FQs 9 times including various FQs . I Have taken Cipro both brand & generic versions, IV Levofloxacin , Norfloxacin, various doses of FQs, I have been in our parallel universe over 26 years in all . I eventually reached a place where I FELT fully recovered after many years after my first floxing, that one cost me no less than 12 years of my life, complicated by other dangerous mitochondrial damaging psychotropic drugs. That first very nasty floxing was triggered by just taking 2 doses, & happened within hours of taking the first one.
I also eventually in retrospect FELT around 80% recovered from another subsequent floxing. I did not know what had happened to me at the time , so I unfortunately got floxed 7 times in all before i finally joined the dots, via obtaining copies of my medical records.
Intriguingly, AFTER my first floxing, at least according to my medical records, I then subsequently apparently took FQs not just once but twice more, where i had NO noticiable reaction to them whatsoever, & this with a less damaging floxing in-between. My most damaging floxing was with Cipro described with a concurrent NSAID, whilst I was using a steroid inhaler, that one trashed me both physically & cognitively.
Imho, It is better not to try to put yourself into ANY category of severity of floxing, OR set yourself timelines in regards to improvement / potentially feeling recovered, one important reason being that symptoms of FQ toxicity can be insidious in their presentation, Some can potentially be delayed, & this can be for many months. ( another reason also to be careful with the exercise ). On average in my floxings I had new symptoms popping up & multiplying for around 18 months before I finally stabilised. imo it is far better not to do this at all, as there are NO set timelines, that can be based on particular symptoms, severity of these symptoms, or when they might appear in regards to floxing.
Everyones floxing is completely unique to them & nothing in floxing is set in stone. If we do put ourselves into categories we might then feel very despondent, even despairing IF we do NOT start to improve ( for example, maybe when the literature we have read on the category of floxing we have placed ourselves in, or perhaps the person we might have taken advice from says we should.) .
The only honest answer I feel I can give when I’m asked the questions : how severely have I been floxed ? or how long will it take me to improve / potentially get to a place where I might feel recovered ?, is in my own experience of being around more than a little while simply the following : ‘ How long is a piece of string ? ‘ .

For the past month I have been encouraged by the fact that my mouth, nose and ears were no longer painfully dry. It was the first sign of improvement in 3 years. I’m still bedbound and in horrible pain, but I took it as a sign that finally my body was fighting back and slowly starting to heal. But today I have woken up with the dryness worse than ever, and I am now feeling total despair. I don’t know why it would suddenly come back out of the blue – or is it common for symptoms to go away for some time and then recur? I’m even wondering if I’ve been re-floxed, but I don’t see how. Any help would be gratefully received, as I’ve completely lost all hope. Thanks

I just wanted to say that humans are not the only ones being floxed. My Holisitic Vet who I thought I could trust gave my elderly dog Baytril which I found out later is a fluoroquinolone, increasing his misery, failing to cure his lung infection and hastening his death. Trust NO ONE)

VERY VERY VERY important FLUOROQUINOLONES INDUCE a very high traumatic stress
because strong anxiety , panique , no sleep , scare to die , etc etc and no support from doctors
all this affect and mobilise the sympatic system to hard and there is no way to escape from this energy that is so concentred because the fear of dying
more to keep that fear on control we use so much energy that we have no more energy to live
we only are surviving the stress
claude jacquesroy Harvard graduated better that 99 % of doctors : )

It WILL go away! I had that too for months. I couldn’t meditate because I felt like my heart was literally going to pound out of my chest. As other side effects started to go away so did that. One thing that will help, is a breathing exercise. Breathe in to the count of four, and then breathe out to a count of 8. This helps you to switch into the parasympathetic nervous system. Hang in there—it will pass.
Guys, I would like to share my story with you…I was floxed in January 2016 and now I am symptom free for about 4 months, last bad..bad symptoms I had in March 2016. No supplements (except Magnesium occasionally and vitamin D because I was low on it)…now doing very fine, walk daily, do sports, like before..I indeed like my life and couldn´t let anything to ruin it..After this whole nightmare, I feel much stronger mentally, I appreciate life more, ability to walk daily and don´t forget stress can do horrible things to your body, when I learned how to relax I got better…and remember you WILL get better..Don´t give up never!

I want to be hopeful for recovery, but flare ups make it hard. I made it almost 2 months without my aches/fatigue that were coming monthly, but they came back these past few days. I can’t do anything but rest, feels like bad flu except without a cough or cold- and super weak. I can’t for the life of me figure out a trigger. I pay attention to food & anything in general that’s different. I keep thinking this can’t be from the meds, I must have a disease! Needless to say, feeling so discouraged. I had Levaquin for a total of 40 days over the past year- the last round in April, some were 750 mg. doses. Docs don’t help. Anyone else who has symptoms that flare or wax/wane- your input is appreciated…

So my boyfriend who is my family my life went into the hospital it was unexpected he is okay now and home. But his mom constantly asked for updates I could barely drive to get to him. She knows I’m sick but didn’t get it. She texted me non stop I had so many attacks so my boyfriend told her that she stressed me out to much and got mad. I am so tired of no one fucking understanding how sick I am if I had cancer people would get it. Now I’m having so many attacks got stuck and my boyfriend who had five stents put in is fucking annoyed. Ugh

L,
You mentioned magnesium & probiotics. Can you suggest brand/dosage? I eat pretty clean, I’m vegetarian, cutting out gluten is easy, but worried about calcium if I cut out dairy? Yogurt is only dairy I eat…and I looked up water brands w/out fluoride. Thanks for the ideas. So is the idea behind the magnesium- that the meds deplete you of it in a permanent way? I’ve read a little about flox meds depleting body of alot of vitamins/minerals, but can’t get clear picture on how reversible it is…my recent iron was pretty low, too. I eat non stop to keep the vitamins up & it’s exhausting 🙁

Hello, I was wondering of the people who go through a big relapse(I’m 6 mos in), if they cycle too. I know people cycle with the initial floxing.

Hi
Have not been here for a while. Just one question. Has anyone suffered from supraventicular tachychardia and sinus tachychardia since taken antibiotics? I was rushed to The hospital with a pulse off 219. I thought i was having a heart attack. I got this The first time a year ago, when i was taking flagyl. And since then my life has been a nightmare with a lot off stuff going on in the body. I got medication to help The pulse to go down, but my heart is still pounding really bad, and I have trouble breathing, i have severe fatigue and alot off things . Have almost fainted alot off Times too, because my heart is pounding like crazy. The doctors only want to give more and more medications, but im tired and scared off more medications. Is there anything i can take to calm down The heart? I have been reading about q10 and d-ribose, that should be good to The heart. But im afraid off an allergic reaction to it. I had a bad reaction to magnesium. An allergic reaction. Just wanted to hear if others suffer from this heart conditions? And what to do?
