I’m new to this site and as a floxie. Five weeks ago I was given a six-day course of Ciprofloxacin (2 x 500mg per day) after a prostate biopsy. Knowing nothing about the dangers of the drug I put up with spasmodic muscle pains and bruising which I thought would go away. With what little research I’ve done, I’m now taking a probiotic, 250 mg of Magnesium and a high dose of Vitamin B12 each day wondering what else I should be taking or doing, perhaps using epsom salts in my baths. Pain, which has only been low grade, and bruising greatly improved until I started to introduce soya yoghurt into my diet two days ago. It may be coincidence but the muscle pain has flared up again. I also need to see an optician because, it may be my imagination but my eye prescription seems to have changed recently. Any thoughts or advice would be welcome from those who have travelled this journey before me. Does exercise help or make things worse? By the way, I’m 63. Many thanks.

Does anyone have suggestions for eye pain and dry eyes. My eye doctor said my eyes look healthy. I just got reading glasses but that only helps some. Very discouraging that the reading glasses didn’t take care of the problem. Has anyone tried castor oil or anything else that helped? Thanks!

Today an article from Dr.Mercola about the tremendous healing powers of Molecular Hydrogen. This might be (very) usefull for us,floxies.
Don, where do you get the RBC mag test done? Is it a blood test?

It’s Magnesium! Check on symptoms of magnesium deficiency. They are identical to fluoroquinolone toxicity symptoms. And recommended 800 mg of magnesium a day is NOT ill advised. When you have been depleted of magnesium at the mitochondrial level you can easily handle large doses. Take calcium combo.
Several Canadian doctors are successfully treating this illness with magnesium. Yes you will need other supplements like B vitamins because you likely have nerve damage and C for connective tissue repair, BUT magnesium deficiency is the culprit. As I said, I’m out of a wheel chair now, neuropathy disappeared , vision restored, no hallucinations. Recovery was rapid, a matter of three months after a year of disability.

Here an article about the history of fluoride, and how politics and industry made a profitable and “healthy” substanc out of an extremely dangerous toxin that cost industries a fortune.Floride is the toxin that makes Fluoroquinolines so extremely toxic and dangerous;quinolones are,on it’s own, dangerous as well.
Lukasz, Great!! Thanks for responding to John! I’m sure he will appreciate it as he seemed pretty upset. Hope you are still continuing to improve. From my reading of your story and comments it has been a long journey for you. I hope as time is going on that everything keeps getting better for you!!!

Does anyone know the trend for delayed reaction, in regards to new symptoms appearing? I know many floxies report ups and downs in the healing process, but are they experiencing new symptoms each time or the same initial problems? I wonder if most people are experiencing all effects within the first few months, and anything they deal with at a later time is just a progression of those original symptoms; or are new and unrelated symptoms/problems showing up 6 months later or years later? For example if someone were floxed and only experienced popping knees after, is it likely they would go on to have damaged vision years later, despite not having they eyes affected within the first year? I would doubt unrelated parts of the body would have extreme complications years later, unless of course they had showed some signs of damage soon after the floxing.

Hey all! I have a benign brain tumor that at some point will need to come out. It has been stable for 2 years, but eventually I will need brain surgery with loads of steroids to keep inflammation in my head down. Obviously I will hold off as long as possible (could be 2 years, 5 years, 10 years…who knows if and when the tumor will grow but I’m told as young as I am, it will eventually grow). Will I be okay with steroids if enough time passes? Or will I re-flox myself? What should I expect? I literally will have no choice when the time comes. I was floxed for the second time May 2018.

Anyone used or using iodine? I’m getting my feet wet with this critical component and having some difficulties understanding the recommended daily dosage. I’ll be using Lugol’s 5% and been advised to start slow and work up gradually. Holistic doc wants me to take 30mg per day. That seems quite a lot to start off with. I’m being told elsewhere to start with 5mg daily but how many drops is that? My guess is that’s one drop in a small amount of water? If that’s the case, should I increase to 3 drops after a week (assuming I’m tolerating it well) and then 6 drops after another week? Assuming each drop is 5mg, 6 drops would equal 30mg, am I right?
I’m also aware of the fact that I will need to supplement iodine with selenium, though I have seen dosages of 200-400mcg mentioned. So which is the best dosage? 200mcg or 400mcg? And is magnesium supplementation also required with this or can it be skipped? I have seen people mention magnesium malate as the preferred pairing though some take the mag just before bedtime whereas the iodine/selenium combo is recommended to be taken in the AM.
Anybody have information on this?

This is copied from an email alert I received from Dr. Carolyn Dean. It may be informational for you or someone close to you who IS FORCED TO VACCINATE. ….
It’s that time of year when the news is full of stories trying to scare people into vaccinating. If you have no choice but to vaccinate, here’s what you can do to mitigate unwanted side effects.
Helen Saul Case, bright and beautiful daughter of Dr. Andrew Saul – Editor-in-Chief of the Orthomolecular News Service, shares her experience of vaccinating her daughter and protecting her with Vitamin C. In her article Don’t Vaccinate without Vitamin C, Helen says:
“At fifteen months old, hours after she received two shots for four diseases, DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus) and Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b), my baby daughter was screaming, falling over and uncoordinated, and spiked a fever that registered as high as 103.5 degrees on our temporal thermometer. Knowing that in large doses, vitamin C is an antipyretic (fever reducer) in addition to being an antibiotic, antiviral, and antitoxin. I acted fast and got the fever under control with very large doses of ascorbic acid and calcium ascorbate, or buffered vitamin C, to bowel tolerance, and a tepid bath. At bowel tolerance of vitamin C, she was no longer screaming and uncoordinated. Within the first hour her fever was down by a degree; in the second hour, another degree. For the remainder of the evening her fever hovered around 100.5.”
Along with Vitamin C, I would use ReMag, and Pico Silver (in case the your child was given a Live vaccine). I’ve had many occasions where patients, family, customers, clients say they or their children are having a toxic reaction and a fever – to any number of things – and I tell them all the same thing, take 2-3 tsp of ReMag in sea salted water and within a few hours you’ll get your body back!
Sidebar: I’m not advocating vaccination, but if you are “forced” to vaccinate, don’t wait for a reaction. Before and after the shot take ReMag, ReAline and Vitamin C to weather the storm. When I was forced to take a vaccination for my Green Card application – I asked for the dregs from the vaccine vial and made a homeopathic remedy from it to antidote the poison. The directions for Making Your Own Remedy are in my Future Health Now Encyclopedia.

Hi all,
Has there been any discussion in the FQ community regarding Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT), aka stool transplants?
The transplants have been very successful treating Clostridium difficile infections (C-Diff), but the latest research is suggesting that they could treat a variety of autoimmune conditions, etc., that most experts now believe stem from a compromised gut microbiome. I’ve found some personal accounts of people with multi-symptom issues who have seen recovery after an FMT (it relived their joint pain, anxiety, depression, muscle twitching, etc). But, these are just posts on the internet, so who knows.
We do know that overuse of antibiotics can cause significant gut issues and, in turn, a wide range of health issues. I don’t think FQ toxicity is *exactly* the same thing — but, based on all the cutting edge research out there about the link between the gut and the rest of the body, and how difficult it is for the gut to heal, it would not surprise me at all if there was a close relationship between FQ toxicity and gut health. At the very least it may be *part* of the puzzle.
Of course I’m not saying anything new. I assume this has been questioned/explored before, just wondering if anyone can direct me to any articles/posts where someone really explored the possibility of trying an FMT for FQ toxicity, or perhaps someone out there has actually tried one?
Thanks,
M

It’s only four weeks since I came off Cipro and now, today, I’ve been told that because of cancer in my prostate I will need to have it removed within six months. Quite apart from the shock, there is the question of whether to do it now or in early Spring. The operation will involve taking an antibiotic (I will stipulate NOT a fluoroquinolone) but I wonder how much that will affect my Cipro-induced symptoms and whether I should give time to get my gut into a better shape and get into a good supplement/food regime first. What do people think?
