I wish there were a forum on this site for discussing cosmetic surgery and procedures when floxed. I know it is taboo, and everyone wants to hate on people who get Botox, use Retin A cream or acne medication, or undergo cosmetic surgery, BUT enormous numbers of women get this stuff and are part of the floxed group. I bring this up, because I was just told by my friend that she underwent Liposuction and they put a Cipro antibiotic in her IV during surgery. She did not find this out until suing the surgeon for another reason, and reading it in the medical notes. I also have wondered if having Botox around the eyes would cause worsening symptoms of eye tendons if one is floxed, because I am younger woman who had Botox of the eye area before being floxed, and mostly my eye tendons and muscles were affected. Can Lisa do a page for cosmetic related procedures/products and Floxies? I just turned 35, and I’ve read about many 20-30 -40 somethings being floxed, and they are likely to use Botox, Retin A, etc.

Obviously, I would not get Botox now, but it doesnt change the fact that I had it when floxed, so naturally I wonder about the interactions. MANY people are getting Botox, so it makes it a relevant concern for people under 50 who are floxed. “Although the majority of Botox users fall in the 40 to 54 age range, about 1.2 million Botox injections, 18 percent of the total, were performed in 2015 on patients in their 30s. More than 100,000 were for patients in their 20s, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.” I don’t think it was coincidence that mostly my orbital are was affected and that is the only place I had Botox

I’ve been battling this since July of 2016. Unfortunately, I have not gotten any better. I took 10 days of cipro. I was 30 years old when symptoms first started to occur. I was very active, worked out 5x a week, played several sports all year round. For the past 2+ years my life has been turned completely upside down.
Now I can’t even jog to the end of my street. Well, I can… but then I struggle to walk for the next week as my body recovers from the 30 second stint of jogging. I’ve tried so many of the suggested methods to help the body heal, but nothing has made a difference. What kind of life is this? To be in my early 30s and know that I’ll never be able to do any sort of physical activity for the rest of my life? Awesome.
The fact that all of my friends are constantly playing sports and asking me to play, but I always have to tell them no is even more discouraging. And I cant explain my ailment to them. Nobody understands this. My own mother tells me I’m crazy when I have brought this up to her.
Is this it? Is this what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life? Wow…

Does anyone of a magnesium supplement similar in nature to Remag? I’ve been looking for Remag all over but it’s not available in Canada and online resellers charge an arm and a leg for it. Are there any similar substitutes on the Canadian market that have similar properties as Remag and provide close to 100% absorption rate?
My latest incident with my “retina specialist”. I have AMD and am being treated for it. I read about this in another article and asked the doctor about it. His answer was delivered in a laughing manner and he said “some guy wrote an article about this and got it published”. He seemed to laugh it off as hearsay.
I am posting this because after my eye injection they always want to use an antibiotic eye drop. When I asked what the antibiotic was I was told it was Ofloxacine. I questioned the use and asked if there was not another antibiotic available. I was told that Ofloxacine was the “ONLY” antibiotic they kept “in house”. As so many have said “THEY JUST DON’T GET IT”!!!

Hey L
I remember you saying you’re dealing with chronic sinusitis and I came across this comment when reading on wobenzyme which by the way is working so good for me anyhow I thought I would copy and paste her comment
Well, I don’t know why products like serrapeptase & wobenzym work form some people and not others but I have had chronic sinusitis for over 10 years and I took serra-plex for 3 weeks and it cleared it right up. I also had a very painful ovarian cyst which was resolved during the same period I was so happy with the results I started combining wobenzym and serrapeptase to see if it would get rid of a polyp and fibroids. I won’t know for two weeks if it was successful on the polyp but if its not I will be sure to report back here

Adding Magnesium twice a day, switching my toothpaste to fluoride free, avoiding tap water at all costs and drinking AquaHydrate (although I’m sure any extremely filtered water with a high ph and no fluoride would work the same) healed me in 2 years. I’ll spare you the ugly details of the pain and severe vertigo I had that entire time. However, since I’ve tried to resume my normal life 6 months later (drinking normal water every now and then, not taking magnesium anymore, but still avoiding tap water) I’ve noticed I’m still extra sensitive to most products and every now and then have difficulty when it’s hot outside — cold chills, but body is extremely hot. Does anyone else have this same symptom or is this completely unrelated?

Magnesium Chloride or Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salts) for baths? Does anyone know about the difference in terms of absorbability? At present I’m using Epsom salts but I want to buy Magnesium Chloride flakes to make my own Magnesium Oil. Would they work any better in a bath?
Henk. I have heard 2 different thoughts on adding calcium to help Mag be absorbed? One says it doesn’t help and one says it does??? Any thoughts? I know about adding D and K to help.

Does anyone know if Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12) can make matters worse for those with MTHFR gene mutation? The dose I’m taking is 5000mcg, one sublingual tablet per day. I’ve heard that the methylated version can cause problems for those with MTHFR. Anyone have info on this? Trying to determine if I should continue with this supplement or leave it behind.

Hello all! I’m in a freak out moment.
I was first floxed July 2016. Didn’t know what was happening to me.
I was second floxed May 2018.
6 months in to the second time, I was really FINALLY doing well.
This week my husband ended up with a monster strep throat, unable to swallow or talk, fever, etc. The works. My son got it, and I got it too. On top of it, I had a UTI that I was trying to naturally treat but it wasn’t happening.
My doc gave me a 10 days dose of Apo-Cefadroxil to fight both infections. Not in the Quinolone family.
I have no choice. I must be on these meds. I took one evening dose on Thursday evening. Friday, I took the morning dose. Throughout the day, my legs and arms started to feel “Quinolone-ish”…progressively weaker. By the evening, I felt wobbly legged, and shaky. My calves were cramping like crazy. I took the evening dose. This morning (Saturday), I took the morning dose. Honestly, this is frightening, and only you guys can understand. I’m feeling weaker and weaker. Again, I can’t stop the meds! Do we know why this is happening to me? What I should do? Is it depleting magnesium? I’m scared to google. Help please!

The last week or two my left shoulder has felt increasingly sore despite taking supplements and rubbing on magnesium oil. It makes a lot of popping sounds too. Today while putting on a sweater it really hurt and I’m wondering if I’m heading towards something serious. Anyone have a similar experience or comments to make? I have to have my prostate removed in the next couple of months so an injury now . . . .!

Anyone else get a horrible skin reaction to magnesium oil? I am not allergic to Magnesium, I take over 400mg daily and tolerate Epsom baths well. It is only the oil applied to skin that leaves a red rash, burns/itches. I’ve tried two different brands and they both do this. I have to wash it off as soon as I put it on because it makes a stinging rash.

Has anyone developed acquired dyslexia as a result of these antibiotics? My ability to read has been getting progressively worse over the past 4 years. This only happened after the antibiotics. This has me really concerned since as I mentioned, it seems to just be getting worse year after year. Anyone experienced issues with reading comprehension since being floxed?

Has anyone had experience of going to a herbalist? I wondered if they could help in flushing the drugs out of the system . . . if that’s even possible.

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to tell you’s what Wobenzyme has done for me in just one month.
I started taking it because I had (what i guess cuz i dont go to doctors anymore) was a
Uti that wouldn’t go away with oregano oil which usually works. Anyhow I took the enzymes thinking that’s how are bodies naturally kill bacteria and viruses when they enter our systems. Well it stopped the uti, helped my shoulder pain, cleared my brain fog, gave me great energy, helped my digestive issues, and before fq’s my stomach was always flat but simce fq’s a thick roll of fat accumulated on my lower stomach but since taking the enzymes its melting away to where its almost flat.
All this in less than a month of taking them and I don’t even take as many as they suggest. I take 2 in the morning and 1 before bed and the only other thing I take is 400mgs of magnesium.
So I would definitely encourage everyone to at least give them a try

Also, before the enzymes i could only drink a half a cup of coffee since being floxed but now i can drink as much as i want it no longer bothers me
I am curious…
Has anyone gone on to have surgery post floxing where you needed to be administered antibiotics even if preventative?
Has anyone gone on to need steroids post floxing?

Just another confirmation from an official source. “POPULAR ANTIBIOTICS TO CARRY NEW WARNING ABOUT RETINAL DETACHMENT”. The Canadian government has investigated the affects of Fluoroquinolones on the eyes and here is the results. http://www.vancouversun.com/health/popular+antibiotics+carry+warning+about+retinal+detachment/11695792/story.html?fbclid=IwAR1ULXlopf4NZQKFwdmx4K5kuxSFuGqKwSLvS6wWWXE_B8nwzDAZpX8vr04
