In the last six months my blood pressure spiked from normal to pretty elevated. Started taking BP medication (no issues that I can tell other than my BP going down to just a bit over where it was). Wow western medicine worked.
My question is – about 10 days before I started taking the BP medication I started getting bouts of feeling light-headed. It has been a bit over a month now and it is still hanging on. It fluctuates throughout the day and is rarely an issue at night. It seems to be very slowly getting better – but still has days when it bothers me. I feel a little pressure in my head and just off. Not really dizzy and no other symptoms. No headaches or anything else.
Primary who prescribed the BP medication blew it off. I see my integrative medicine specialist tomorrow who is more understanding and believes I was floxed even if she is stumped at offering treatment. Do I need to push for more tests on this with her – or is this something I can thank the fluoroquinolones for? How many other floxies have dealt with this and did it go away? Did you do anything other than just deal with it?
BTW – I was floxed a bit over three years ago and am generally recovering started my second worse relapse about 3 months ago. Somewhere around 90% of normal on good days.

Following a 4 week ciprofloxacin treatment, I have developed very bad muscle spasms and fatigue. The spasms/twitching have been continuous over the last 12 weeks. Does anyone have any suggestions as they are driving me mad. Thank you in advance

Thanks L. Currently I am taking coq10, udos choice probiotic, iron, vitamin b12, b6 and d3. Having undertaken many tests, it is clear that peripheral nerves have been agrevated and are missfiring, also my red blood cells count have increased and iron level dropped. So many issues are going on. I had mri scan and EMG tests undertaken plus many blood tests. I think that twitching is happening because the nerves are missfiring, I could be completely wrong. I took cipro for orchitis , first 3 weeks no issues, then in week 4 bang..

Here is a helpful world-wide resource. You can do a search for functional medicine practitioners. This also includes mds, which is helpful as far as having insurance pay for visits (at least in the US) https://www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner
DP. I don’t want to discourage you in any way as many floxies heal rather quickly but 3 months is still pretty early in floxing recovery. It could be the fizzy drink had nothing to do with your symptoms ramping up or maybe it did but flox symptoms can be a roller coaster for a few months or more. Try to stay calm and accept that you will have good days and bad days and ride the storm out to calmer waters. I know it is hard to be patient and “wait it out” but it is the best we can do to get through this nightmare. Stat on your good supplements, especially the mag for your muscle twitching! How much mag are you taking? Are you taking other supplements and eating clean?? It “can” be a long journey and patience and acceptance help you through the rough spots if you can dig deep down and relax your way through the bumps in the road. I hope you have a more speedy recovery so just keep at it on stay on course with taking care of yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually..

I watched the video from the link you posted https://youtu.be/eHNizwtgHYQ and then I went to his Facebook page. This is the first “doctor” that I feel is definitely on the right path of healing. He explains the destruction caused by Fq’s to the stomach which leads to the brain and ultimately to your whole system.
I would encourage everyone to check out his Facebook page and watch the videos.
Also, he lists in great detail the tests and the supplements he used, and what those supplements do. If I was newly floxed or still suffering hard, i would seek his help.

I recently took 7 days of Levofloxicin 250mg for a UTI that would not go away. I had tried 3 other antibiotics before being prescribed Levofloxicin. I didn’t notice too many symptoms while on the medication besides my stomach being in pain sometimes, which I figured could have been caused by being on so many antibiotics in a short time. I was taking probiotics while on it to attempt to combat any stomach issues it may cause. A week after being finished, I couldn’t eat without being in severe pain 10-30 minutes later and needing to use the bathroom. It’s like my digestive system has stopped working properly. I am waking up several times every night in pain and needing the bathroom.I have lost weight because I have no interest in eating due to the pain it causes. I went to an urgent care clinic on the weekend and was referred to a GI Specialist (who I haven’t heard from). It doesn’t seem to matter what I eat or don’t eat. I tried more probiotics + kefir or yogurt, I tried no probiotics at all, nothing changes. It’s only been a little over a week of this and I am at my wits end. I don’t know what to do.

I know I have asked this question before but has anyone else experienced muscle twitching in calfs? Mine is continuous even when I am sleeping as it keeps waking me up. I now wonder if it’s turning into Isaacs syndrome. I get twitching all over my body but majority is in calf’s . I am now thinking that my voltage gated potassium chanel antibodies are attacking my peripheral nerves. Interested to find someone who experienced same symptoms and if the same settled. Thanks

I have not posted on this website before. I am looking to talk to people who are experienced in chronic floxing. I took one dose of a FQ over 3 years ago which gave me a severe reaction with more symptoms happening after. I have over 40 problems that happen or have happened over the years and they cycle between eachother and combine in different ways randomly. a few months ago which was 3 years after i took it i got worse again which i didnt think was possible with new symptoms i havent had and old symptoms being worse, mostly ones with nervous system. i havent seen alot of stories like this where someone is affected so badly yet then gets even worse over time, while i did have some improvements around the 1.5 or 2 years after, the improvements didnt last. i havent tried alot over the years
to get better mainly because i havent really known what to try and i wasnt sure what to do and still am not, also because some of my symptoms at times seem like they could kill me with breathing problems and seizures and so on and i didnt want to just take alot of stuff and ‘hope’ it would work or have a reaction. what should i do i think some of the problems with my nervous system seem the most hopeless i guess if anyone wants to talk via email or something i could leave my email here
I don’t advocate this brand but the information pitch to sell the product has a lot of good information in it. Maybe it would help some floxies. One never knows unless one tries it.
