Hi gang
I hope everyone is doing well .
So for the past 3 days ive been up and mobile. Staying up all day and evening.
Its nit that I feel great but obviously better than I had been doing..I was pretty much bedbound.
A few positives ive noticed.
1.Up and mobile
2. Can blow my nose (its been dry for months)
3.I ate popcorn last night with no ill effects (huge)
4.Eyes not as blurry or dry
5. More BMs (not so constipated)
6. Nowhere near as weak
Now if the big stuff would go away 🙂
But like my friend Tammy pointed out.

I just had a good 2 months. I was floxed 20 months ago with Achilles tendon problems that didn’t seem to want to resolve. The last 6 to 8 weeks my Achilles have felt much better, enabling me to walk without pain.
My left rotator cuff flared up as soon as my Achilles improved, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I could still function and was so happy to be walking that I just sort of thumbed my nose at my shoulder and kept going.
Now my shoulder is calming down and Achilles feeling slightly sore again, like they’re working shifts or something, one clocks out and the other clocks in to make sure that something is always a bit sore. Even then, it not as bad. I am healing.
I am curious to know why the tendon issues seem to travel. As one tendon improves, another one flares up, and it keeps bouncing back and forth. All around, it is getting better, but it’s just so weird.

So things got bad again. Honestly I dont see any hope in sight.
I feel like im dying a slow painful death.
Things just go from bad to worse. Unbelievable! !
Wondering if anyone has had joint issues since toxicity? I have never had so many issues (none really) as I do know with joints. Also have disc issues in back. So I have to wonder because you hear so much about tendons – it would make sense I all connective tissue were affected.
On another note, I have found a small dose of muscle relaxer to really really help a lot of my pain!!
It was a long time ago that I posted about being floxed. I guess mine was rather minimal, as I don’t seem to have symptoms anymore. (Sharp pain behind left shoulder blade, pain in arches of feet/legs, pain in left ear, scary dreams). I took Cipro 500 / 2x day back in August, but stopped after the fourth dose.
I am, however, still dealing with illness. I’ve been sick since mid-July, have been on antibiotics 6x, and an afunginal once and am now awaiting results of yet another urine culture/sensitivity and hoping the bacteria doesn’t travel up to my kidneys again. I think sometimes that if I’d been able to manage the Cipro back at the beginning, that i”d have gotten better and wouldn’t still be dealing with illness, however, the thought of floxing for life seems much worse.
I run fevers daily, have seen 9 doctors as well as consulted with 3 dr friends at my church, have had millions of tests run (OK, NOT MILLIONS, but it seems like it), was positive for C Diff as a result of all the antibiotics, had pelvic abscess, OB Gyn issues, candidiasis, etc. etc. The frustration lies in the fact that drs. have not yet been able to pin-point the exact cause of my fevers. At least the energy is returning, and I”m able to teach again. I couldn’t do my normal teaching duties (I teach music at a college) for 8 weeks last sem due to extreme fatigue, shakiness, fever, etc.
I sincerely sympathize with each one of you who are continuing to deal with illness as a result of floxing and other long-term illnesses. It’s frustrating when dr’s don’t know what to do or don’t believe you. I had one dr. essentially give up on me. I had to ask her for a referral to another Infectious Disease dr, because she was not offering any more advice. My plan is to go back to her and tell her what they find is wrong with me–in great faith that my new dr’s workup will give results. 🙂 I’m NOT imagining my fevers–I typically don’t run fevers. 🙂

was the fevers since Cipro or before Cipro? I had fevers after being floxed but they went away. For me it was a floxing symptom. So not a real fever.
Mel, you think you were damaged as much by the anaestheic used when you had a sinus operation as by FQs, so why dont you try taking a homeopathic potency of the anaesthetic? Can’t hurt, costs a few dollars, might help a lot. Same with other homeopathic meds – they’ve made and continue to make a massive dfference to me, so why is everyone completely uninterersted? It’s very odd. Is t because people don’t undertsand how homeopathy works, even after it’s explained to them, or because it seems so unaggresive that thye don’t believe it? Only one floxed person, in four years of writing, has tried homeopathy at my suggestion and her myclonic storms wree cured after two doses – she now goes to Dr. Yurkovsky and is much better. Unfloxed people, however, often do listen and try it and are delighted, so I think it’s connected with the general negativity of mind that often results from floxation.
Melanie, what was the sinus op. and did you have a general, reguional or local anarethetic, or was it “twilight sleep” (sedation)? Would your primary healthcare physician have details in your notes – should have – or can you ask the surgeon? If you find out what they gave you, you can probably go at least some wy to reversing the effects by taking a homeopathic potency of same. I did, when I hadf a G.A. some years ago and felt very grotty afterwards.
I could write you a suggested programme of homeopathic remedies, or even order them for from Ainsworths and your mother could pay, or you could, or I could list them and you could ring them (via Skype to be cheaper) or order them by email.
Ainsworths and surely other homeopathic compounding pharmacies have anaetsthetic remedies and will compound the exact one if you ask them, but that’s not usually necessary.
“Floxie Hope” means just that, means don’t despair – it dpoesn’t mean that reading the messages every day will cure you!
I’m trying to think of the specific suicide-obssesseion remedy that¡’d suit you, but haven’t had interent or time and am not a trained homeopath – there are over 3,000 remedies to choose from and i only know a few. I may get it, though – I think I may have the other day, but have forgotten again!
Then you could use nux vom at th very least for your constipation – you can probably buy a tiny tube at your local heañth food shop or alternative pharamacy or something – but there are lots of other possible hom. rems for constipoation. And you don’t mention whether you’ve even tried the usual, non-homeopathuic, natural remedies such as prunes, figs, etc.
Have you eaten any activated charcoal, if your digestion’s so bad?
For non-homeo, I’d start with charcoal, then get going on the prines, figs, lemons – stew them gently or just soak them (not the lemons!) then if you have a blender, blend them – the yellow zest and the joice of lemon, all figs and prunes but not the stone) and eat lots. If that doesn’t work, move on to next suggestion, etc. Just being constipated is enough to give you brain-fog, fgs.
I did make some suggestions by email and you justreplie that you didn’t want to try, so if you’re in that sort of negative phase, no-one can help. There’s no point in keeping asking other people how many they took, how long they’ve veen ill, etc., as we’re all different.
You may be partly toxed (in fact you m u t be) by the nasty neurotoxic roducts use oin dogs.. ..but I’ve told you all this and you just stopped, so I s’pose you don’t want to try, juts to be miserable.
In September, one of my neighbours, aged 75, fell over something and dislocated her arm so violently that the top of the humerous was on her chest, at the top of her breast, so about 4 ribs down. Obvuiousy, the main tendon was comnpletely ripped – her arm, once back in place, juts hung uselessly. The doctor explaine dthat, without an operation, it’d always be thus and she’d always be in pain, wanted to operate and gave her Ibuprofen. Six weeks ago, I gave her some rhus tox 30c, ruta graveolens 30c and a tiny bottle of arnica-suffus oil. Her tendon regrew and she’s using the arm normally.
After my chicken soup poisoning, I took:
activated charcoal powder (not a homeopathic remedy) three or four times, till my stomach stopped gurgling and puffing
arnica 10m (twice) for shock
arsenicum album 1M (twice) the number one poisoning remedy
a combination remedy of chicken (yes, really) two FQs (probably no pont, but theyw ere available so I added them in case) E.Coli and – bother, forgotten, but the other most common bacterium that survives the quinlolones and is passed on if you eat the poor treated animal.
Nux vom a couple fo times
I wash my sore eyes with a few drops of mither tincture of eiphrasia (eyebright) in a little water
and am using hypericum 30c and ruta graveolens 30c most days – whenever my feet or other tendons hurt for the ruta and whenever nerve pain or tingling for the hypericum.
I’ve also taken chinensis sulph 3oc again for the tinnitus, but I think I should try taking it daily for a few days, a sit’s only worked a bit this time – may need a different remedy.
There is absolutely no doubt that all of the above have made a huge difference, usually within five or ten minutes. If I were more disciplined about taking care of myself and less forgetful, I’m sure I could improve a lot more a lot faster.
I still get suicidal on bad days, but not because of being FQ’d – I already had a million tragedies and griefs on my shoulders and in my mind and heart – I’d be quite happy about being only this much recovered of that were all. I can get dressed, do the housework, visit neighbours, go for walks (but my feet do hurt afterwards) write rather badly, but legibly, read if I sit down and have a light on the paper and wear glasses, laugh, cry, chat.. I only get want-to-die-ish because of things that are completely unrelated to floxation, though of course if I were a boit healthier I’d feel more cheerful more of the time. What I’m trying to say is that you can probably recover, but you’re being rather passive about it and could try harder. Pity you mum isn’t there – you probably need someone to bully you a bit in a kind way. You asked earlier whether a positive attitude can heal you. We know that happy things releasy ndorphines, dopamine, etc. and that those help in healing. You might still drop dead at bnew year, but at least you’d have had a larf!
I reckon every toxed person shpuld read, or re-read, What Katy Did. Mind you, it’s easy to preach, not so easy to do, but worthwhile things are seldom easy (she added preachily.)
At least set yourself some task that helps others, to fill in the time. I made some suggestions in an email, I think. Then you won’t have wasted every day. Or learn something – learn basic Spanish or natural dog-grooming (for when you recover if you do) or the history of coal-mining in north-west France or how to knit or soemthing.
There are remedies of homeopathically potentised Frontline, for instance – the minic¡scule, potenetised (not just dilutred) dose stimulates your body and mind to sporing into action and mend itself.
Anyway, I shan’t mention it again – there must be good homeopaths in the USA and i know thgere are some good naturopaths who use homeopathy and other things as well. People in other fou¡rums who’ve bene to them have done much better than the ones who just keep gouing to special doctors, having tests and gobbling supplements, all of which costs a fortune. I can’t promise homeopathy would cure ypoui or help you, but it works for most people, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t.
As for suicide, most of us yack on about it or a long time and annoy everyhone around us – it’s an absolute obsession and very boring for other people, because hardly any floxed people actually do it, just moan on about it daily. Bob grozier, RIP, kept a oaded revolver in his desk drawer and took it out every day for seven years, but he died without using it.
Anothert hing you could do – you love your dosg and like dogs in general – well, start researching which meds are toxic to them (Previcox, for instance, but it has a different name in USA) make some little cards or leaflets telling your clients about FQs, for people and animals, and about other toxic meds, send to your clients and ask to leave some in local health store. Force yourself to help others and there’ll be multiple benefits, to them, to you, it’s win-win. I know I sound preachey and of course it’s easier to say than to do, but it’s also partly habit – suicidal thoughts or cheerfulness can become habits.
Mel, can you drink almond milk? It tastes nice, most people can take it and it’ll help to stop the weight loss. Also olive oil, apple cider vnegar and honey should be in your daily diet – lots of olive oil and no animal fat.
Oh yes, as well as the things I listed abobve, I eat lots of Dr. S’s SFP and Marmite, but some people can’t take Marmite because of the yeast. I eat it when i crave for it and not when i don’t.
Cantharis (homeopathy) would probably help with burning, stinging pain.

I think the US is very anti-homeopathy — and when you find someone who does it, it is extremely expensive and seems to be more about profit than healing. The teaching hospital in NY City used to be homeopathic, but suddenly ceased to be in 1928 — they say it was the discovery of penicillin when they abandoned homeopathy, but that doesn’t sound right because other disciplines of therapy didn’t suddenly cease at that time. But for some reason, Americans go beserk when you mention homeopathy, but they are also obsessed with vaccinating for everything, which sort of works similarly.

Reflox by dental anaesthesia
“The health problems experienced by patients treated with Articaine™ seemed to fall into two categories:
“Neurological problems, disorders of the (central) nervous system. These disorders exhibited themselves as Parkinson’s (tremors), ME-type complaints, ALS and MS. Also included in this category are patients with muscle failure and long-term tingling in the fingers and toes.”
I can’t find anything on the website about what to do about it 🙁

The above website says you can be susceptible to problems from dental anaesthesia if you have a Cholinesterase deficiency. From NIH:
“Pseudocholinesterase deficiency can also have non-genetic causes. In these cases, the condition is called acquired pseudocholinesterase deficiency; it is not inherited and cannot be passed to the next generation. Activity of the pseudocholinesterase enzyme can be impaired by kidney or liver disease, malnutrition, major burns, cancer, or certain drugs.”
I guess in our case, that drug was a fluoroquinolone.
Hello everyone…. I’m happy I came across this site. I was recently floxed last month, late Oct… I took levaquin, and three days later I took ibuprofen for back pain. That’s when all the horrific symptoms began….suicidal thoughts, brain fog, confused, panicky, blurred vision, tinnitus, widespread joint pain and fatigue. Now..at 4 weeks out I just have body wide joint pain, not too severe, and fatigued…mildly depressed. All other symptoms have left for now. I was hopeful on recovering….. I have been detoxing and supplementing right away…..but now reading some of these stories I am having serious doubt’s that I will ever be healthy again…. And wonder if my 4 year old will ever have her vibrant, happy mom back? I’m really scared about this and have no idea what my future holds. What are the chances of recovering from this….if any??!! Good luck to all of you and I hope we can all heal from this
“In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. In the end, maybe it’s wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.” -Elizabeth Gilbert
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope that all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I’m checking out for a few days. I will be in touch when I return to the internet. 🙂 xoxo

Well I am starting to make my own Floxie diet. I will continue to add more recipes.
Other plants high in silicon are barley, chickweed, cucumbers, parsley, stinging nettle, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pistachios, string beans and turnips.
so feel free to add them to your own Floxie diet. I know I am.

🙂 xoxo
Do probiotics actually even work?? If so whats the best kind. Ive been taking one for awhile with no real results…or none that I can see.
Well I am starting to make my own Floxie diet. I will continue to add more recipes.
So I was reading about silicon. Silicon plays an important role in the health and resilience of both our cartilage and connective tissues especially our tendons! Nature’s richest source of this element is Horsetail (Equisetum arvense) and it is in the form easiest for our bodies to use.

Other plants high in silicon are barley, chickweed, cucumbers, parsley, stinging nettle, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pistachios, string beans and turnips.
so feel free to add them to your own Floxie diet. I know I am.
