Its’ been awhile since I’ve posted on here and unfortunately I don’t have any good news. I tried an altered version of the “O2” diet which focuses on eating high antioxidant foods (ORAC). I was taking in multiple containers of berries, tons of nuts, tons of vegetables, etc a day over a month long trial period. I didn’t notice any changes besides the obvious one of keeping me regular. I kind of put my last bit of hope into this diet and it failed me. Since then (Oct), I have developed black floaters in both eyes and all lights seem blinding. My purple finger nails still have not corrected themselves and my ankle pains are back in full force. It’s also been just short of a year of having a nose ulcer which prevents any kind of nose breathing. One and a half years into the medicine, I’m still not beating it or even slowing it.
I read your stories and see people saying time heals it time and time again, but I’m not getting any of that luck. I’ve been dizzier, had more headaches, had my face burn more, etc, etc. There are too many symptoms to even begin to explain. While I can’t understand how to cure or slow this illness, I’m beginning to think this medicine speeds up your aging process.
As with the last time I posted, I wonder. Has anyone found anything that is helping/curing you? I need a bit more than hope to enjoy my life. There are far too many days where this illness is making walking from my bed to the bathroom a burden. I’m functioning and working, but it’s an awful experience with a lot of pain, stress, and frustration.
Every weekend i used to pay a visit this web page, for the reason that i want enjoyment, for the reason that
this this web site conations truly nice funny stuff too.

Short and sweet,
If you’ve been fox by any of the floraquinolone drugs, you must treat it like a poison in your body that you have to get out. Immediately start detoxing drink tons of lemon water constantly untll your side effects go away, wash it out of your body as soon as possible!!!
That’s what I did, when I first discovered that people were suffering, it scared me to see that people suffered for so many years, I told myself I can’t deal with that I’m watching this crap out of my body I mean it we started detoxing. Lemon water green tea lots of water tons of water tons of diuretic natural things asparagus etc.
It felt like I had climbed 3 flights of stairs just getting up out of my chair made my muscles burn, and my tendons or so tight I had to be really careful especially in the morning.
Luckily I was able to wash it out of my body, before I did any major long-term damage. I only suffered for three months. I feel really bad for everyone else that I read about that suffered for years and they’re still suffering.
I stopped taking it on day 3.5, and started flashing on day 4, once I found out I basically had been poisoned,
My best advice is to detox ASAP!!!
Hello Gang,
Mike here. Sorry it has been awhile since I posted anything. I just had my tooth pulled and on top of that I caught an intestinal flu so this is a sucky week! Anyway I am still alive and kicking.

I got these from the book “The Green Pharmacy.” byJames A. Duke, PH.D.
Foods and herbs containing glutathione.
Broccoli, asparagus, cabbage, cauliflower, potatoes, tomatoes, and purselane.
Fruits with healthy amounts include avocados, grapefruit, oranges, peaches and watermelon.
Horsetail (Equisetum arvense). This herb is one of Nature’s richest sources of the element silicon, and some say that it is in a form that is especially easy for your body to use. A number of studies show that silicon plays an important role in the health and resilience of both cartilage and connective tissues such as tendons. This herb can come in a tea form.
Other plants high silicon include barely, chickweed, cucumbers, parsley, stinging nettles, walnuts, Brazil nuts, cashews, pistachios, string beans and turnips.
Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) and other foods containing magnesium. Magnesium is an important mineral for muscles, bones an connective tissues. And since leafy green vegetables are a good source of magnesium. Fresh purslane, green beans, spinach and lettuce and poppy seeds.
A good start to a floxie diet.

I can’t say this is a health fix, but I just saw a commercial on tv today about levaquin poisoning. I was a bit shocked. I found out that they changed their warning label back in Aug 2013, months after I took the medicine. Peripheral Neuropathy went from rare to common with months to years to never of damage to your body. Glad they are slowly fixing it I suppose. Money is no substitute for being healthy. This medicine has taught me that, but some money would help with medical bills and maybe if any is left, suffering. Something for you guys to consider if you haven’t yet.
I’ll continue to stop in and see if anyone finds something helpful, but my O2 diet of pure health food and massive amounts of vitamin rich foods left me feeling hopeless. I was eating 2 cartons of raspberries for breakfast (to name some of it), 4-5 servings of nuts a day, 4-5 cups of spinach a day, 2 cups of green tea. Just ridiculous amounts of healthy food and didn’t see any changes. It’s so frustrating and disappointing. Forcing myself to eat more food (all healthy) than I could really stomach. The only thing I noticed was being overly regular.

Lemon may should be used carefully at the first beginning of being floxed, if we want to detoxify.
There is no sound proof yet, but do not take lemon or citrus “too much everyday”.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had night sweats or adrenaline surges in the night. I do sleep lightly and wake up at the crack of dawn, which is a huge change from before, but I do not wake up groggy or with difficulty.
Also my “arthritis” is limited to popping early in the day and after sitting or not moving for a while. It’s been months since I’ve used turmeric powder on my tendons/joints. My heels are recovering faster in the morning, too. My shoulder is almost etter. My knee that went out right at the beginning suddenly got better from vigorous rubbing (after 2+ years!) and I don’t have to do anything with it.
Still working on the vertigo but I think the brain fog is much better, too. High whining tinnitus is back at night, but the rumbling kind is gone.
Everybody, try to think of this as being hit by a train — because that’s what it was, but from the inside. That’s hard with our own doctors denying what happened, but we need to know it ourselves. Thanks to Lisa!!!!!
Thank you to everyone here who has taken the time to help others through floxing. It’s been over a year since I took Levaquin- my problems were central nervous system issues- lots of anxiety, crying, unable to leave the house and GI issues- couldn’t eat much of anything, certainly not coffee for over 5 months. Obviously I lost a lot of weight and muscle tone. And then the infamous peripheral neuropathy. The first three months were horrible, the next two much better and from there I have gotten progressively better with some incredibly excellent days. But my question relates to relapses. I have them every couple of weeks/months. Sometimes just the neuropathy, other times the anxiety and sometimes the GI issues too (I have all three now at 14 months out). I wonder what brings them on and if others have this same experience. Could stress induce relapses? If so, what can we do to manage stress more effectively? I have been taking herbs that have done a world of good but are only somewhat effective during a relapse. (Gabatone by Apex Energetics). I eat right, exercise moderately, and get a lot of rest.
Again, thanks to all of you!!
Hi, It’s been a while since I’ve posted… I’m still in the process of seeing dr’s and searching for diagnosis. I’m not on Dr. #13!!! 🙂 Rheumatologist now, and searching for autoimmune possibilities. Currently I have several nodules on my lungs (seen on 2 CT scans). My 2D Echo shows that three of my valves in my heart are demonstrating regurgitation, but I know i’ve had heart echo since I was born so not sure if all three were doing that from birth or if two are a new finding. I don’t have the record from the test that was done when I was little. ANA positive 1:40 speckled. Having increasing dizziness, muscle pain, joint pain, continuing nightly headaches (on left side) and sinus pain. sigh… I want a diagnosis for Christmas… 🙂

Tricia, stay strong. Everyone seems to think that time is a big factor. This is my 4th month and things haven’t gotten worse for me. The 1st month was the worst for me. I’ve finished my physical therapy which helped me a lot. I’m still not anywhere near pre-flox but I’m functioning better than 3 months ago. I’m just recovering from an all over rash which may be due to either the gabapentin (for neuropathy) or the new brand of turmeric supplement. Or maybe it’s just part of FQ I don’t know. Have you done anything differently which may be contributing to the worsening symptoms? I’m going to start a daily journal to see if I can see a pattern of when I have better days vs. worse days. Anything to try to make more sense of this mess. 🙁

Jen,
It took a little while for rashes to develop. But by the time I noticed them, the rashes were raised and red and mostly on my hamstrings. It took months of things before figuring it out. B12 was a major cause but other things gave me small, itchy red bumps on the insides of my legs. The worst? My B12 and D are low so I actually need them! I have tried several brands and all impact me the same way, but I’ve found a lower dose one that is fine if I take it a few times per week.

Jen,
I had the rash for several months. It was red and raised and uncomfortable. A dermatologist diagnosed me with folliculitis and it was even swabbed and came back positive for a gram-negative bacteria. It appeared I would have to go on antibiotics! But, I continued to read and research and came across something that said that B12 can cause follicular rashes in rare cases. As soon as I stopped, it settled down. It also seemed to erupt with D and even chia seeds. Weird, I know.
This isn’t allergic, in my opinion. It’s really that our bodies are damaged and cannot handle the processing they used to. In the beginning, I was so freaked out by it. It was a bacterial infection after all! But, once I knew it wasn’t, it freaked me out much less. Even now I do take D and B12 and too much will cause a little itchiness on my legs and tiny red bumps. I ease off the pill and it goes away.
Now you might be thinking, Why take them at all!? Well, my B12 was below 400 when I was first floxed and again this summer after reacting negatively to seafood. My doctors wondered if I “ate any meat at all”. Yep, every night! I eat organic beef or chicken or wild salmon every night. I also have salmon for lunch 3-4 times weekly. And even with that, my B12 has been low. My D is also low- in the 20s- so I tried to get lots of sun in the summer and supplement here and there.

This is my second floxed Christmas. It’s a time when others are happy and full of joy. Mostly I just wonder how many more of these holidays I’ll have to endure.
On another note, I am going for an ASTYM appointment in early January. My feet have long been 80-90% of my pain. I have plantar fasciitis issues and nerve stuff as well. I’m hoping that some ASTYM treatments might help.

Melanie and SM I’ll be hopeful for you today! It is okay not to feel strong. I will believe for you two and say that you will be okay. It might take some time, but eventually hopefully sooner than soon you will live again. I myself have a way to go, but we gotta keep believing and helping our bodies heal. Chin up, head up! Fight Fight Fight. You are worth it, your family is worth it, your children are worth it, and you two have a lot to live for still and make a difference in this world. I myself had acupuncture yesterday and I feel it in every part of my body. But you know what, I dressed up, going to be with my family, fight through the pain and enjoy it as best as I can. I pray God’s peace and joy over your lives and heart today. I will step out in faith and say you will not be like this FOREVER! I will believe for you today!

A question for some of the knowledgeable floxies out there:
Like many, I have cold toes and fingers. Not always, but certainly my toes are cold several times per week. I have read online on several sources that PN an cause this, but the sources state that toes will FEEL cold but not actually be cold. Mine are cold to touch. So, does that mean those cold toes and fingers are a circulation issue more than a PN issue?

Gluathione & Naturopath Doctor
Hi Guys
We have 3 floxies in town and all of us have been feeling better after we tried Glutathione (or NAC) for months. ND gave us Glutathione IV and we bought glutathione pills and NAC pills from stores.
I myself took pills and only one IV shot, and I do feel a bit better. The other two got several Glutathione IV shots and they reported to feel apparently better. I myself am going to get more IVs. Note it is not recommended to get too many Glutathione IV or too often. It is said too much/often Glutathione IV may fool your body and your body will be reluctant to generate glutathione of its own (something like works in this way … )
It is said that Glutathione pills are mostly degenerated in our stomach and cannot be absorbed effectively. It is said that NAC pills can boosts our body to generate its own glutathione. Many vegetables can boost or contain glutathione, such as broccoli, garlic (slice or smash them and leave them in the air for a minute before you eat them), asparagus …
Happy new year
(Disclaimer :
Everyone is different.
There may be some other factors that made us feel better rather than glutathione, such as time.
Glutathione, as many other supplements, may not be always safe to everyone.
We are NOT Medical Doctors, you may want to consult with MD ….. 🙂

I was given Levaquin for just 5 days. I couldn’t walk, sleep, eat, or do basically anything for the first week. The second week brought severe back pain and loss of appetite and taste buds. The third week brought nerve pain from the neck down, muscle spasms, and pain all over. It’s been over month of this nightmare. My body doesn’t feel like my body, I barely remember normal. I’ve started taking vitamins and forcing myself to drink a lot of water seeing as how I have no urge to eat anymore. Hoping to get better soon.
Wow! After I had my tooth pulled. I caught a nasty g i infection. Intestinal flu.
Throwing up after an extraction is horrible! I have had this for over 3 weeks. I think I am finally getting better. Boy floxing sure has put my immune system down.

It is highly possible that lemons and limes could be related to the pummelo and could cause the same type of food-drug interactions ….
