Peter – have you tried using essential oils for infections? 3 times in the past year my children have been prescribed antibiotics, and we’ve managed to avoid them by using essential oils instead. I’ve also eradicated a very severe candida infection using oils. They’re certainly worth trying, because a lot safer than antibiotics, and we’ve found them to be very effective.

HAVE YOU FOUND RELIEF FROM BRAIN FOG, TYPE 2 DIABETES, OR BODY PAIN? I’ve had these for a few years, after taking (4) Levaquin pills. Please let me know if you did anything that successfully cured any of these problem areas. Thank you. Chris

I’m coming back to report my situation, I posted months ago, I received Cipro a form of Leviquin in the emergency room for diverticulitis and got banged up pretty bad! Couldn’t walk for days thought my foot was broken, I had a broken hand at the time and it attacked it so bad that they were gonna try to drain the excess fluid but there was none after the stuck turkey baster needles in me to try and extract some liquid that was not there all swelling in my ligaments and tendons, one Doc finally figured out it was the Cipro and took me off, I am slowly getting the use of my hand back but still have weird out breaks of off beat stuff like scabs that form over night in strange patterns, not being able to walk on certain days? It all seems to be with injuries that have happened in the past as with my feet and ankles, I played college sports and broke lots of things! The Surgeon said I can finally have the surgery to repair my broken hand because the swelling has gone down enough, not all the way yet but I am concerned that I am walking into another med trap? To where my arm swells up again after the surgery and is useless as it has basically been for 4 months? Thoughts? TIA P.S. I am on high blood pressure meds and the 8 docs I have seen seem to think it was a reaction with those, so we have been changing meds weekly, no fun!

Dear all, my name is Yann, I am French so forgive my English. I have been floxed for 1 month now. 3 weeks ago, at the peak pain, I could not move at all and had to stay in bed, being fed by my wife. I just wanted to share a “cure” that I have discovered and that has proven to bring significant benefits for me and other floxed people who have tried it as I have shared it last week on a french blog dedicated to that “disease”.
The cure consists in applying the regenerating properties of nano-silver on stem cells to convert them into tendons, muscle or bone new cells and repair the damaged cells by quinolones.
The protocol is rather easy, I bought a bottle of nano-silver of good quality, around 15ppm concentration, and an electrostimulator as the benefits is highly increased by electricity (evidence : http://www.space-age.com/SilverStemCell.pdf).
I took 1 or 2 spoons of nano silver about 4 to 6 hours before the electrostimulation run to make sure it was available in my body ( I think that nano silver is not allowed for oral use by the fda, please check local regulation, however I have been taking this product orally for ages and never had any side effects).
Then I applied the electrods on my heels and tendons for 20 minutes, at low continuous intensity (not alternative, it must not stimulate the muscles, it has to be an antalgic intensity).
2 hours later I could feel a tremendous improvement, and the day after I could walk again.
I am not saying this is THE cure, I am not a doctor, and maybe the improvement I have had is not linked to that. Disclaimer : This is not an advice, but it seems that it worked for me and for other people.
All the best,
Yann
Jimmy, if you see this: I haven’t forgotten about your enquiry, but am having trouble finding the person and the information. I may have to give up, but haven’t yet.
There’s some stuff about residues in tissue here: http://tinyurl.com/moy628n but only for fish and poultry, but here http://tinyurl.com/m8zzm7n there’s some information about FQ traces in mammals and I think (but haven’t time to check just now) at the bottom of the page you’ll find some about binding with bone tissue.
It seems to me that, as one of the vaunted benefits of FQs is their fast and ubiquitous penetration, includinginto bone tissue, and considering the density of boneand the fact that bones don’t shed dead cells and renew, or cell-divide and replace, unless they get broken or at the tips when you’re young, it’d be almost impossible to extract any chemical that had got in there, especially one that binds with tissue in any way.

I am am 21 year old female rather healthy besides my hypothyroidism whi h has been under control for almost a year now I am being treated with armour thyroid but before I was given armour I suffered from depression from mild to severe, severe anxiety for no reason what so ever, suicidal thoughts crying spells for no reason & depersonalization BUT i knew it wasnt me it was only my thyroid after i was treated with the correct medication these things subsided the only time my moods changed was right before my period but thats every female ! I been healthy ever since thank you to my great endocrinologist ! But recently i was given cipro for a bacterial infection the first one i felt FINE nothing … I took the 2nd one the next day because i am very skeptical of what i put in my body ..i took the 2nd & LAST pill tuesday january 27th at 9 am & 2 hours later wokeup jittery restless paranoid crazy etc. my vision was spotty rooom was spinning I decided after that I was not taking anymore thats when i decided doing research that night I started feeling anxiety including depersonalization constantly depression also & it has not subsided it is now friday the 30th ive been taking a multivitamin been drinking plenty of watever & 1000mg of Vit. C I feel completely trapped does anyone have any advice on what herbs or vitamins I can take to help me Cipro made me feel like I wanted to jump out of a window & end it all ! Its a horrible lingering feeling & still is I really need advice & has anyone went through what I am going through ? Please help ! Sincerely Christy xo!
Hey, I know I haven’t posted in a while. That’s cause I’ve had multiple continuing health problems with no real answer. Had a 10-minute angina attack which resulted in going to ER, EKG showing arrhythmia sent me to cardio, 24-hr. holter revealed tachycardia which resulted in prescrip for heart meds. Now on new antibiotic (doxycycline) to try to treat on-going infection. (Urinalysis revealed WBC count at 55 (range 0-17), bacteria 728 (range 0-273), +1 Leukocyte esterase, etc.) Culture cultured pure diphtheroids 6,000, culture rejected due to diptheroids showing up, so no drug sensitivity given. This is third time to have cultured diphtheroids. Dr. wouldn’t listen to my point that you’re supposed to count them as causative agents if they culture singly and patient definitely has symptoms of UTI. Tried me on cephalosporin, which I reacted to, so switched me to doxy. Hoping it will work, but have had still episodes of fever (38.1 three days-in to antibiotic, 37.9 four-days-in, none so far today–five days in) and minimal hives (have been a symptom since I first got sick in July 2014). So hoping SoMEThING will work!!!
Anyway, reason for my post: I was at drugstore yesterday and overheard a lady next to me ordering Oflaxacin. I turned to her and said, “Don’t get that drug. It’s dangerous and can damage you for life.” Of course, her response was to look at me like I was strange and reply, “My dr. prescribed it for me.” I told her my experience with the 4th time I took cipro (pain behind left shoulder, pain in arches of feet and up legs, weird, scary dreams/nightmares, pain in left ear). I told her to look up being “floxed” on-line, to search for herself the dangers of that class of drugs. Of course, she wouldn’t listen. So many just don’t believe until they experience it themselves. I told her the drug plays not only with the DNA of the bacteria–it will also play with YOUR DNA as well. I told her it took at least a month for me to get over the pain in legs/feet and am still dealing with some remaining effects. Not sure if even my continuing illness is a result of the floxing.
I wish we could hang signs in front of pharmaceutical counters warning about the drugs.
Search for “Ciprofloxacin” on youtube and the 8th is it.
I do this to every of my new doctors, and they got some idea immediately.

I wish someone had told me that when I was given the drugs. Unfortunately even after I got feet pain, many doctors still told me “it is very safe.. your pain is very unlikely caused by Cipro”..
You did the right thing. We are not trying to persuade people from using the drugs. We are telling them the fact so that they have the information to make decision. Of course, they won’t listen. We would not listen in their place
Well hello gang! I a alive and well at home after battling 8 weeks of nausea and diarrhea.
Ended up with 4 trips to the hospital. I spent 9 days. After scoping and scanning and test. I made it through. I lost over 30 lbs. Was diagnosed with severe Crones. The doctors say it is probably Cipro related. They all were interested in Cipro poisoning and Floxing. I a diagnosed with Reactive Arthritis, Floxing, fibromyalgia, tendinitis and tendinosis and now Crones. Of course to stop the Crones from killing me I had to take the steroids. But all y doctors want me off it fast. So no walking. They said the Cipro caused all this auto immune stuff.
Just wanted to update you all.

Thanks for the input Lisa. I am allergic to penicillin, so that’s why i did the z pack. I tried to get rid of strep, If i even had that, for about two months with no luck. I got the medicine because i was getting worse. Oddly enough though, white spots began forming on day four of the medicine….didn’t like that. They have since receded some, but I’m still not healthy. My throat looks like crap, there are faint white spots, and my nose is very red. Both my mouth and nose look sickly, so the medicine didn’t help much. On a positive note, i don’t have thrush yet, per my dentist, whom i trust. It’s early still though with two weeks left to check into that. I’m just very concerned that I’m still not better and my left nostril had some kind of weird issue as well. I’m not sure i could even explain it. It’s almost like the part of the nostril that blocks you from going further into the nose is permanently bent open or the cartilage is failing.
So, it’s been a nightmare these last few months with health, though non floxing related i think. I plan to get into an ENT asap to look into my nose health and the above.
I’ll have to look into those oils. I saw then briefly mentioned online when i was looking for home remedies, but I’ll be honest, searching for health fixes scares the crap out of me. Especially for floxing. I’ll bee sure to stop by the facebook page and do some research on them. Thank you for the help though Catherine and pointing it out Lisa.
Just FYI they told me in the Hospital that the rashes and skin stuff I was dealing with is crones connected. The one doc said he thinks that cipro may trigger other auto immune disorders. I a pretty grateful to the staff at spectrum health blodgett medical center in Grand Rapids MI.

Just got off 10 days of Cipro a few weeks ago, and starting to have constant pain in my knees and ankles and hips… w lots of cracking. I suspect I have been floxed. I have to say all of the info on like is TERRIFYING. I’m 36 and so afraid that my life will be over, I won’t be able to do yoga anymore… etc. Are there ANY instances of these side effects only being very temporary? I feel that I haven’t seen anyone post that these effects have only lasted weeks or a few months, rather very very long periods of time. So afraid of what this could turn into. 🙁

Question for the board? What other drugs are you taking ? In other words maybe we can figure out what is causing this reaction? I am taking Pristique(SP), blood pressure meds , high cholesterol meds and colenepan to sleep? Anybody else having these in thier life? I have a nurse that swears that meds for depression mixed with Cipro is the cause?
Has anyone here every tried lavender oil? I just got some, along with lemongrass oil and thyme oil, and am trying them to help combat infection. I also read on Dr. Mercola’s website, “Lavender oil providing benefits against supergerms is also great news for anyone who has experienced any side effect from taking antibiotics, especially those containing flouride. In fact, many antibiotics containing fluoroquinolone (flouride) have been removed from the marketplace due to their horrific side effects. Omniflox, Raxar, Trovan, Zagam, and Tequin have now all been banned. However, Cipro, Levaquin, Avelox, and Floxin continue to be prescribed for a variety of infections, both major and minor. Cipro and Levaquin are by far the favorites, and my advice to you is to avoid them. – See more at: http://healthimpactnews.com/2011/lavender-oil-coconut-oil-and-krill-oil-more-effective-than-drugs-in-fighting-fungal-infections/#sthash.wHeWUPlN.dpuf”

Thanks for the continued support and advice. I’m heading into the ENT later today. My symptoms from one-two months ago are returning. I’ve seen more white stuff in my throat since taking the z pack, so I’m lost. I want to see what the ent says, but am heading down the natural route currently to see what happens anyway. I just want a supposed expert to diagnose me or throw out some diagnosis. I’m lost looking online and believe it’s either strep, thrush, or heaven forbid cancer, or a combination of them. Never had any of those, so hard to judge from experience, but I’m fairly certain my body and the medicine is not beating the strep and had resulted in the thrush. But who knows.
It’s kind of nice to not worry about floxing, but this hasn’t been very enjoyable either.

Hey if you are fighting an infection and you are scared of antibiotics. Look into emulsified oregano oil. The stuff is amazing. It is a natural antibiotic and it even works on C diff.
My ND Doctor Morgan turned me on to this stuff. It helps with a lot.
http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-644-oregano.aspx?activeingredientid=644&activeingredientname=oregano
Also I found a product that is helping with the Crones it is Called Bastyr Formula B supplement.
You can order it from Walmart.
