As i mentioned at the beginning i ate very simple foods, lentil soup mostly with avocado, eventually i bought white corn flour and added magnesium chloride to the mix, i only use purified water.I live in mexico. I made tortillas with that and began to eat them with my lentil soup and avocados. I have always maintained magnesium as a basic part of my diet from the beginning and magnesium chloride was my main partner in this battle, this food preparation was the only thing that did not cause me nausea, slowly i began to recover and this was my diet for the first five months, i eventually found a place where they had free range chickens and bought some eggs from them, this would be my protein from that time on. I never ate any commercial food or anything that was processed. I added cilantro to the lentil soup, i never ate salt.

My sciatica was under control a couple of days ago and i laid down on my back with my legs on a pillow for more than an hour, big mistake i irritated the front nerve in my thigh (Meralgia paresthetica). I was in a lot of pain yesterday. this morning a lady called me to say the hemp oil i ordered from her had arrived. I went to her house and got it and immediately took a swig. The effects were quick i noticed my pain levels went down in my nerve, i went about my day doing a lot of activity and in the afternoon i was exhausted so i went to bed to rest, a while later a friend called and when i got up the nerve pain was unbearable. I was scared! i thought it was under control, i reasoned my activity was too much and my nerve resented it, i asked my son to bring me some food to my room since i couldn´t walk from the pain. i sat down to eat and took another swig of the hemp oil hoping it would bring the inflammation down. It was amazing, within half an hour i was walking again, still in pain but not unbearable. Hemp oil is a miracle!

Hi all,
I’m reposting my comment from one of the wonderful stories here. Just looking for some hope here. I’m in my 30s, 10 days out from my last cipro pill (and I’ve been reading stories on this site to stay positive). I’ve had foot pain and some tingling, but also some in other places as well neck, hands, elbows, thighs and knees. A few 1 second episodes of tinnitus (not the first time in my life) and what I can only describe as skin burning around some joints. I have some previous anxiety, so some of what I’m experiencing is from that coming back. I’ve started a supplement regimen right away based on many of the stories here. I’m grateful that it’s managible right now and low level in all reality, even if it changes. Any encouraging words out there?

Stephani, my hemp oil is called nutiva. You can get it online. I drink it straight or sometimes with food. With food i feel it is better absorbed.
Kelsey, it looks like you have a light reaction which will make you recover faster. Your age plays a big difference you are young and that helps also. My first recommendation would be to use probiotics and digestive enzymes with all meals. Avoid flour and sugar. If you take supplements make sure they are not pills or tablets, and go real slow and low dosage to see the reaction. I usually buy capsules and open them up to take the supplement. Coatings on pills and tablets are toxic. They exacerbate neuropathy issues.

After keeping a healthy diet, I had way too much red wine this weekend at a wedding along with some not so healthy food. I have a super upset stomach today and was wondering if it would be okay to take Pepto Bismol? I’m hesitant to take anything nowadays after Cipro.

I received an email from Bayer saying they were concerned because they heard I had adverse effects, and wanted to hear from me about them. I have already submitted info on this before, and contacted med-watch. This is so nauseating to hear them use the word “concern” and about how they take side effects so seriously. Yeah right. I can’t actually print my reply here. (Stephanie I am sure you know what I mean!) But if anyone else would like to send them their thoughts…have at it: drugsafety.gpv.us@bayer.com

Hi Lisa thank you for replying back to my questions and concerns. Have you experienced shortness of breath and your heart beating really fast at times. will these two issues be related. I am going to an acupuncturist and he mentioned having my lungs and heart weak and he is doing acupuncture to strength them. Will that help? Or should I do H202 for that or maybe ozone? or something else. what about taking something that might help.
Blessings,

Hi all. I don’t get on this site much anymore but checked in and read through some of the last comments.
I had a genetic test done through 23 and me. I carry the MTHF mutation. It also tells me to stay away from glutathione . So be careful with the IVS for those thinking of trying them. It’s not always safe. I also cannot tolerate magnesium and the spray form made me extremely dizzy for at least 6 weeks.
Be careful in what you do and take.

Hi all,
I am circling the drain here and I don’t even have it as bad as you all. I am alone. feeling hopeless. Depressed. Wanting my old life back. Not knowing what to do next. I had such a good life and now I have trouble walking. I don’t even know if I was floxed but my PN started during the Cipro so what else could it be? 5 1/2 month out. Just starting and wanting it to end. I just don’t know.

I’m having a bit of liver discomfort today three days after I overindulged in red wine this weekend. Will this pain go away if I keep up a clean diet with plenty of fruits and veggies and drink plenty of water? My leg tendon pains seem to be diminishing but this is a whole new symptom for me.

Has anyone experienced bowel movement abnormalities? I’ve been super stressed the past couple of days and it has come on not solid and a yellowish hue. Trying to figure out if this is anxiety related and something wrong with my liver. Or perhaps a combination of both.
Hello everyone I wanted to post this site. My father found them when I almost died in the hospital from malnutrition and malabsorption. They are a nonprofit out of CA and they specialize in a type of drug rehab program. What is super cool though is they stumbled across Floxies who were prescribed drugs that they wanted to get off of and the doctors found out that these patients were dealing with fluoroquinolone toxicity. They have a program that is helping floxies. They also know Dr. Mark Hyman out of MA. And they work with Dr. David Perlmutter.
I just wish they advertised more on helping Floxies.
My father talked to Alesandra Rain, co-founder for some time and she knows quite a bit about Floxies.
I am going to reach out to her on their SEO to direct Floxies to them for help.
Hey everyone I want to express my gratitude to Lisa and others for their support and help and thoughts and prayers. It was rough going for awhile. I think I am back on to the slow road to recovery.
Hey Lisa let me know if there is anything I can do to help you with your Floxie Cook Book project. it sounds awesome and I have been collecting recipes for Floxies as well.
Remember my fellow floxies never give up never surrender.
We all have to try to find our way through this night mare that big pharma has created.
We all need to be treated as individual patients on a person by person basis.
Less stress and less negativity goes a long long way.
I appreciate all of you and i wish you all good health very soon.
When I recover from this I am defiantly going to create a Non-Profit org. to Help people like us. Thank you so much for this site Lisa. Keep up the fight.

The actor Ryan O’Neal is walking with a cane after tearing his achilles tendon. Hmmn ?
I can’t wait until my poor gut heals 🙁 The gut is truly the key to the rest of your health so I’m really focusing on that. You usually don’t think about things that most people don’t have problems with and you take it for granted. Then it’s too late and you would give anything to get it back to where it once was. I count myself “lucky” as this is happening in my early 20’s and I know my body is young enough to heal to get where I used to be (hopefully). But to also really appreciate good health and be conscientious what I put in my body from now on.

How long does the brain fog last. I stood in my bathroom for a few minutes trying but to figure out where I was and then why I went there. It’s so frustrating my boyfriend doesn’t even want me to go places on my own because I get confused so easily. It’s an adventure when I leave the house. I ask him where are we going or why are we going here. I feel like I am loosing my mind.

The good news is that it may now be possible to protect brain cells against glutamate toxicity by taking methylcobalamin supplementation. In a study in the European Journal of Pharmacology, it was shown that methylcobalamin protected against glutamate-, aspartate- and nitroprusside- induced neurotoxicity in rat cortical neurons. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread164157.html
