Question on the November FDA testimony. Does anyone have a contact that I can reach out to for it. I really feel that with today’s technology there should be a way for those of us that cannot afford to go because we are busy covering the freaking cost of our poisoning. I just have a huge problem with that and would like to talk to someone who may be able to provide us with an option.
In respect of exertion, even the slightest exertion induced worsening of symptoms & /or relapses, I actually have a misdiagnosis of CFS/ ME, & my worst relapse was triggered by being put onto a graded exercise programme many years ago. I crashed BIG time within a very short time of starting this, & it put my improvement back for a VERY long time . I did however eventually feel recovered around 80 % from that particular floxing . This article explains the mitochondrial dysfunction oxidative stress contribution to this sort of thing quite well I feel. we of course being rather more complicated.
In regards to my latest relapse caused by epsom salts where I was left literally unable to move to get out of the bath I am last starting to head in the right direction again after 8 long months of feeling really awful in regards to that completely debilitating weakness.
I am now looking into adrenal issues as a possible reason / contributory reason for this.
hello i would like to know if calcium is good or not
thank you

***ATTN JASON — And anyone else who cares to read…***
Jason,
Thank you for sharing your story (on the previous page) and explaining, in detail, what has helped you. When I recovered after my first reaction I never came back online to share my recovery story or help others, like you are doing. I felt really good, and just wanted to move on with my life and never look at a “floxie” website again. You’re a better man than I am and it is much appreciated. I’m sure some karma is at play here, because here I am suffering again — frantically searching for the same hopeful stories that I denied everyone in the past.
So, I may not deserve it, but I’m wondering if you can once again help me and tell me if I have this right when it comes to detoxing:
On the first day of your detox you took antioxidants like vitamin C, Selenium, etc, (to protect body), exercised with a short run (to mobilize the toxins), then following exercise had a single glass of water with Iodine and Borax, sat in a Sauna and ended the day by adding Activated Charcoal/Spirulina/Chlorella/Benonite Clay/Psyllium Husk to your water (and ALL of these last items are for binding and purging the body of the toxins). Then, on second day and subsequent days until you felt better, you avoided exercise but still kept up with the usual supplements, including all the ones I listed, and kept going to the sauna. Is that correct or have I misunderstood anything?
This is my current supplement plan. Some of these I haven’t added yet, but plan to based on the insight from you and others.
Multi-vitamin
Vitamin C
Vitamin D
Magnesium (+ caking my legs in the gel every day. Will get the spray next based on your advice)
Fish oil
Glutathione
Two collagen/joint supplements
Organic whey protein
Tumeric (plan on adding)
Selenium (plan on adding)
Mito-Q (plan on adding)
Iodine (plan on adding)
Borax (plan on adding)
As for my diet, honestly I don’t think it needs much fixing. I eat very clean, and learned how to do so after my first floxing. I never eat processed foods – only organic whole foods, a lot of water, variety of veggies, some fruit (bananas and grapes mostly), olive oil and I do eat a lot of chicken and eggs, but all of it is antibiotic free, hormone free, organic, etc. No caffeine, no alcohol. I also have a NutriBullet which I love…every day I have a shake with kale, spinach, broccoli, banana and sunflower seeds. I DO drink organic whole milk, which may be questionable. However, right when my second reaction started, I cut it out of my diet for two months. I only recently brought it back in, and my feeling is that it has made no noticeable difference one way or the other. I just love whole milk and I missed it.
So, I think I eat well. I was actually eating like this, and taking most of these vitamins/supplements BEFORE the steroid brought all of my symptoms back — a little concerning that it didn’t seem to help protect me at all. I think the only thing I will add is cherry tart juice, based on your story.
As for lifestyle in general, I exercise twice a week now, only doing light upper body work and gently riding a stationary bike for a few minutes. I live in a city with no car so I am forced to walk a lot (more like a strange shuffle/limp that I have to do now…). I was taking hot epsom salt baths every night, but maybe I should switch to cold? I was actually making the water as hot as possible, and sitting in there for about 20 minutes each night. Sounds like maybe this is something I should eliminate. I’ve also been getting acupuncture each week and I, luckily, sleep pretty well each night.
So, Jason and anyone else who feels inclined to answer, may I ask for your input on all of this? Is there anything I should eliminate or you strongly feel I should add? I know I shouldn’t put a price on my recovery, but honestly I don’t think I can afford to add many more supplements than I’m already taking (and plan on taking). So please let me know if you absolutely think I should substitute any of this with something else.
Again, my primary concern is tendon damage in my legs: pain, stiffness, soreness and weakness from the feet to the hips. I am primarily concerned with addressing the cause here, as opposed to masking the pain/pain management. I can handle the pain and would actually prefer to feel it, rather than have any disillusions that it’s ok to stress my Achilles heel, etc…
All input is much appreciated. Thank you everyone.

Cortisone, by inhibiting the normal healing inflammatory reaction, actually enhances the degenerative process in the tendons, ligaments, and joints in which it is injected. Another problem is that the shot gives the person a false sense of security that the area is healed, when it is not. In my practice I have seen many people get better via joint manipulation, skilled therapeutic exercise and improving personal nutrition and diet.
Truth is, the only way to achieve optimal health is by moving well, eating well and thinking well.
It’s sad that so many people look for cures that only delay disease or dysfunction rather than correct the cause of a problem.
Most patients that enter my practice do so because of pain- my job is to first help them achieve some level of normal function: proper hydration, exercise and movement and eating a non-inflammatory diet.
If the patient still has pain after this process has occurred, then we can consider it a true clinical problem. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/10/27/do-cortisone-shots-actually-make-things-worse/?_r=0

Mike (i´m not a doctor)
but it is my opinion that your current physical condition was not brought about quins stored in your body, it was the steroid. I have not read about anyone having a such a strong reaction like yours six years after getting floxed ( i would also like to know what level floxing you had, mine was a level two according to the flox report). The other thing is that if you sleep well, then in my humble opinion there would not be a quin connection there either, quins do some serious damage on the brain and if they were involved you would not be sleeping well.
Having said that,
i believe you will get better but your recovery program might be different, one of the things i learned early on from the floxing issue is this, quins destroy our bodies and that´s the main factor in understanding this issue. When i first got floxed i tried a million detox therapies, i was the king of detox. Although i felt clean (so to speak) my symptoms and physical condition did not change much and that is because the damage can not be healed with detoxing. I am not saying detox is not good, on the contrary it is a beneficial adjunct to a good recovery program.
What i learned early in my floxing was that the damage was ultimately going to be a time related healing process. Now addressing your physical condition having read some info related to corticosteroids it seems that the focus should be on regenerating new tissue.
I looked at your supplement list, the only question i have is this. Are you taking pills or capsules. The reason i ask is because the coatings on pills and capsules is toxic. i suggest people should take all supplements in their pure form, powder or liquid with no other ingredients added.
I buy magnesium citrate in capsules and open the capsules to take the powder. I strongly believe you will get well, but it will take time and the amount of it at this point is difficult to asses since the are many factors involved, i take magnesium citrate round the clock. Mostly to relax my nerves and tissue it also helps maintain ph balance, hydration of course is very important. One thing that i dont see mentioned often is trace minerals.
Vitamins won´t work without minerals, a good ionic trace mineral in liquid form would be the first thing in any supplement list, and since it comes in liquid form you can tailor the dose to your specific reaction and improvement. The only thing i would add to your list is mitoQ.

Question, my doctor is stumped on this but does anyone else have panic attacks from simply stretching. To the point where I have heart palpitations. I have weekly IV treatments and take a lot of supplements I push myself to walk even when it burns to the point that I have crawled. Does pushing yourself make it worse when you stretch. People who are not floxied say oh don’t stretch. My response is okay don’t breathe. Any tips on the pain would be great Epsom salt is my enemy. It causes such violent spasms and sets off the turrets. Ugh
Recommendations for reflux? Can I take milk of magnesium or will it cause me problems? For the last 2 days I have experiece reflux or burning sensation in my stomach and esophagus don’t know why. Or what can you all recommend for the reflux sensation. Thank you all in advance

I have an ozone machine that i have used from time to time, it works. I began to use it three years after my floxing, it eliminated my candida overnight! it increases overall energy significantly. I bought my unit for two thousand dollars, it is a medical grade device. I really don´t know if it can help anyone at the early stage of floxing, but once i recovered after three years of my floxing it did help me with energy issues, and since i don´t take any type of pharmaceutical antibiotics i rely on it for infections.
I had a serious battle with a cold/flu last year, normally i up my vitamin c dose sky high when i get a cold, but this bug would not budge. So i started to use the ozone machine to kill the bug and it helped. I got rid of the bug in about four days, which for me is a very long time since i always take megadoses of vitamin c.
There are different protocols for ozone, injections, insufflations, etc. I basically do insufflations. For the cold i did ear insufflations, it´s quick and easy. about 20 seconds in each ear.

This is the one i have, it comes with an oxygen tank. The company is in Canada they sent it by ups to me in california, i was living there at the time.
Lucero that is a strong point in your favor for your recovery,
i had sleep issues before getting floxed which was the reason i was taking megadoses of magnesium citrate, this i believe helped me in my neuropathy dept. the magnesium helped me from greater neuropathy damage from the quins.
Sleep is essential to any type of healing, because when you sleep the body turns off the factory and the clean up crew go in to wash up the mess.
One of the reasons i believe it takes so long to recover for most people is because their sleep has been interrupted in e very big way.
In my case, my sleep was already messed up to begin with and the quins put it on overdrive.

Lucero i would look into the foods that you are eating and see if there is a connection there, i would look into foods that eliminate reflux. A burning sensation to me would be an acidic condition. Our stomachs take a big blow by the quins and acidity is a big problem.
What i would try first would be more water with some electrolytes to dilute the acidity in the stomach. Milk of magnesia for me would seem like a big jump and we need to be careful with those, first of all our kidneys are thrashed at the beginning of the floxing. I remember i took a regular magnesium tablet , i had been taking them for years before getting floxed and my kidneys did not like it, i felt pain in my back where my kidneys are and knew then that supplements and other non food substances would not be tolerated well by the kidneys.
I began ti use magnesium chloride in liquid form, i added it to my food and that´s how i got my magnesium for the next 12 months.
I didn´t take any supplements in tablet form, my kidneys simply said no. It was food, water and rest.
So you may want to find out if the supplementsyou are taking are not being well tolerated by your stomach.
The stomach has villi, these hair like things get destroyed by the quins making most things difficult to digest, that is why a very basic diet that is really easy on the stomach is essential.
For the first three months all i ate was lentil soup with garlic and handmade tortillas, i added the magnesium chloride to the tortilla mix, the magnesium actually helped my digestion, because magnesium chloride helps the stomach make hydrochloric acid which is essential for good digestion.

I have a vitamin D deficiency and so must take calcium as well as vitamin D3 daily.
I also take the following supplements- magnesium, vit B6 and B12, Omega 3.
My ribs, neck, muscles, joints, back, are all aching. I too am unable to wear a bra or tight clothing, I sleep with one light throw over me and leave the heating on 24/7.
I am intolerant to a lot of foodstuffs and medications since being floxed.
No one can possibly even begin to understand how devastating this quin ring, quin nucleus is unless they have experienced it personally.
Sorry if I sound bitter.Being floxed has caused me to question everything.
BTW I had my antibody levels checked by the NHS . They were positive..
The FQs are known to inhibit the Liver P450 enzyme pathway Lucy , these are the enzymes responsible for metabolising the majority of drugs, & also some substances, including caffeine, which enter the body. This is one major reason why we often cannot tolerate drugs we were able to take fine before we were hit & also new drugs which may be prescribed subsequently, & also a reason why many of us cannot now tolerate caffeine . this inhibition can last for varying amounts of time, & that timeline seems dependent somewhat on severity of the reaction.
I was floxed a year ago and also a year before that, with levaquin. while i’m lucky that i can now walk, drive, function in a basic way, i’m not at all normal or well. my hands were very swollen for 2 months and remain painful, I now have Du Puytrens, which the Dr says makes no sense, and like the polymyalga he occasionally still thinks i have, it has no source they know of. I refuse to take more steroids, which were prescribed with the levaquin. lately my feet are swollen also, and feel stiff and fat each morning altho not as puffy. who has these symptoms? the dr. thought the hands were synovitis, again, a “mystery” but like the other maladies, linked to inflammation, which disappeared but has come back. he’s a very thorough and attentive dr, and was willing to listen to the possibility, he fluctuates between skeptical and the polymyalgia item. i’m in the LA area, if you need a dr.he has taken every test to be had to rule out other issues.I take the usual recommended supplements, but i’d like to hear from others with swollen hands and feet, particularly a few months after he initial bout.thanks. shelley

I refuse to take more steroids, which were prescribed with the levaquin. lately my feet are swollen also, and feel stiff and fat each morning altho not as puffy. who has these symptoms? the dr. thought the hands were synovitis, again, a “mystery” but like the other maladies, linked to inflammation, which disappeared but has come back. he’s a very thorough and attentive dr, and was willing to listen to the possibility, he fluctuates between skeptical and the polymyalgia item. i’m in the LA area, if you need a dr.he has taken every test to be had to rule out other issues.I take the usual recommended supplements, but i’d like to hear from others with swollen hands and feet, particularly a few months after he initial bout.thanks. shelley
