It’s been 6 months since I was floxed. Initially, I thought I was healing very quickly but I was wrong. Hence, the 6 month update.

My story is similar to most of you. In June 2016, I entered the ER for food poisoning and the treating physician decided to prescribed 500mg of Cipro and 500mg of Flagyl. Within 3 days of taking the meds, I lost the ability to walk unassisted, I lost 40 pounds in 2 months, my body burned all over, my vision was effected in my right eye, heart palpitations, night horrors, brain fog, digestive issues and much more.

I had to leave my profession to focus on my health and as a former athlete, not being in tune with my body was new territory for me.

My wife immediately took me to the conventional doctors who could offer no solutions, only tests. I actually initially went back to the same ER, only for the on duty ER doctor to show his disinterest in my reaction to this medicine. At that point, my wife and I knew we were on our own.

Luckily I had a few skills that helped me from my profession. Prior to being floxed, I worked in the finance industry, first as a claims examiner, then as a financial analyst. Both positions require and investigative, researcher mindset. I was blessed to find your website (floxiehope.com) right away.

I began taking Epsom salt baths and increasing my magnesium intake heavily. This temporarily relieved some of the burning sensations I experienced, which helped me get a few hours of sleep a night. I began taking many vitamins, including B12, Omega-3 fish oil, vitamin d, COQ10, Turmeric, Glutathione, etc.

My wife eventually found a great functional doctor that could treat me. It was here that things really turned around for me. He put me on an all organic diet and explained how to get the nutrition from my food versus supplementation. I also started IV Ozone Therapy, IV Alpha-Lipioc Acid Therapy, EWOT Therapy and Electro-Magnetic Pulse Therapy. Initially I thought the doctor was scamming me, but after a week, I was able to walk unassisted.

By the end of his treatment plan many of the scariest issues had went away. My stomach issues latest the longest. It took the majority of the last 6 months to heal my gut.

At my lowest point, I wasn’t sure if I would live or die, or ever return back to normal. I had lost the ability to hold my 2 year old daughter, which really sent me into a state of depression.

As crazy as it sounds, there were some positives to come out of this. Prior to being floxed, I was the corporate guy focused on climbing the corporate ladder. I spend much more time with my wife and daughter now. I gained a much better understanding of how to take care of my body through nutrition. I have also learned to love life and not care much about others opinions of me. I rediscovered my long lost passion for photography and I have focused more on other goals in my life besides climbing the corporate ladder.

Between not having a job for 6 months, paying for my treatments and paying to see several specialists, including neurologists, gastrointestinal MD’s, eye specialists, in and out of ER’s, we took a huge financial hit and I wondered if I would be able to even get back in the finance field. I’m extremely blessed to be able to say, that I was able to get back on the basketball court this past weekend, all of my issues seem to have been resolved and I currently have 2 job offers on the table. I also have been able to return to graduate school part time. The best part is I am able to toss my daughter in the air once again.

To keep my mind focused throughout the process, I set small goals to keep me improving. At first, it was just to walk unassisted, then up the stairs, then to alleviate the aching pain in my Achilles.

I interviewed for positions throughout my treatment even though I still had really bad brain fog and had trouble concentrating at times.

I also set a goal to be able to hold and play with my daughter by her birthday, which I was able to. The last goal I had for 2016 was to be able to play basketball again without an issue. I was able to do this as well,(besides feeling like my lungs were going to collapse from being so out of shape, lol). My physical goals in 2017 are to regain 10-15 pounds of the 40 pounds I lost, begin running in 5k’s again and return to the golf course. I plan to run a 5k in a couple months. I will let you guys know how it goes.
